Photoshop CC - Property Panel Always Shows No Properties - properties

I have been slowly switching from Fireworks 6 to PS cc and have a unique issue I have not had before in any other Adobe product. My Properties Panel never shows any properties. No matter what I have selected, I never get any properties.
I tried to select an image with the "Direct Selection" tool however that did not work either.
Is there a setting I am missing somewhere that I said to never show me this?
thanks for any help or advice
Paul

Properties panel is mostly for Adjustment layers I believe. It isn't supposed to show anything in regards to selections. Create a new adjustment layer and you will see the properties panel populate.

Where can I find old .vb form width and height?

I have some old vb.net forms (can't find out which version they were using when they made them), and I can't find the form's Width and Height in any of the files.
The forms don't have a .designer.vb file, and it's not in the .vb "Windows Form Designer generated code" section either. However, when I open the form in the design view, I can see the values perfectly in the Properties tab.
I've tried making a file search for the values independently but there are nowhere to be found.
Any suggestions or ideas?
I have googled for some time but I can't find anything that helps.
After some tests, I'm quite sure the value comes from the sizes of everything else it has inside.
The form has various Group controls that "force" the Form's size, and therefore, there's no need to stablish it manually. If I do so, the values appear as usual, but otherwise, they are not stored anywhere.

VB.NET - How to Create Information Box

I'm creating a form that will display a long list of properties and their associated value. I'd like to display them in a sort of table-like control. Something with heading values at the top and a list of organized data underneath it. Something like these:
I realize those 2 examples aren't exactly the same but I'm flexible on what I produce as long as it gives a similar effect. My question is, how do I create a list like that? Is there a control in the Visual Studio toolbox that will produce this effect?
I'm sure there's something similar that easy to find but I can't figure out what to call that control so my searches haven't turned up anything useful.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
A combination of ListView and TabControl controls could be used to emulate what you're showing above. See the links for ListView and TabControl to help you get started.
Yes, there are windows form controls that provides this functionality.
For the tabbed windows use the TabControl:
For the different lists use a ListView control in the mode Details - which means a list with columns:
For the second feature, the ListView control has the Group features:
In order to group items togheter set the group for the chosen item(s):
All of this can be of course done programatically. There are good tutorials on MSDN and Channel9.

Visual Studio Form Designer changes layout of controls on open

I have a user control that looks like this in the designer:
However, when I close the designer and open it again, it looks like this:
The eight controls that have moved are text boxes and labels that are all set to Anchor Top, Right while all the other controls have different anchoring.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing this change of layout, and more importantly, how it can be prevented?
I also had the problem of changing the layout of my form every time by opening it in design mode.
The problem was the use of the tool "TableLayoutPanel".
By coincidence I found that changing the property "Dock" solved the problem.
Just set to another value and then undo this.
After this is seems to be solved. Don't ask me why!

fix form size in visual studio

I am trying to design a web form in visual basic and i have a problem.I put all the elements(buttons, labels etc) in the place i want. When i run the form i have the option to maximize the screen of the form and when i do this,a blank space appears in the form where there are no elements and all my elements are shown to the left upper side of the form. I can't see that blank space when i am designing the form. Could you help me how to fix the fix the size?
I tried autosize, autoscroll and size properties but i didn't fix the problem.
You don't specify whether it's VB6 or VB.Net but for once, it doesn't matter much.
Look at the form property BorderStyle, and change it to one of the "fixed" options.

How to stop my tools strip menu items from appearing in the taskbar?

I have a program which runs mainly though a NotifyIcon in the bottum right of my windows screen (XP). Whenever I open the ContextMenuStrip that appears when the icon is right clicked, a box also appears in the task bar. I also have nested menus inside the menu (mouse over one item leads to another menu), and each additional menu also creates a taskbar box upon appearing. So once I am at the third or fourth nested menu, there would be 3 or 4 windows appearing in the taskbar. After the menu disapears, so do the windows in the taskbar.
How can I stop the taskbar from displaying boxes to represent these menus? I have done nothing in my code as far as I know to create this type of behavior. I have searched for similar problems but have found nothing similar. There is no "showintaskbar" property for these items as far as I can see, and no other property that I can find which would affect this. I have investigated the owner of the contextmenustrip since I read the owner may effect these type of behaviors, but that doesnt seem to be helpful as there isn't an owner property of the contextmenustrip.
I don't know what else to search for, so I am here hoping someone can give me a clue as to what else may effect this type of behavior.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
If you are using the ContextMenuStrip.Show() method, it will display in the taskbar as you describe. Try assigning your menu to the NotifyIcon.ContextMenuStrip property instead.
