Phaser "Game Paused" text when game is paused - game-engine

Hi I'm creating a basic game and I need the most simple "PAUSE" menu in the world!!! I am using this:
pauseButton = this.game.add.sprite(10, 10, 'pauseButton');
pauseButton.inputEnabled = true;
pauseButton.events.onInputUp.add(function () {this.game.paused = true;},this);
game.input.onDown.add(function () {if(this.game.paused)this.game.paused = false;},this);
pauseButton.fixedToCamera = true;
I just want to see "Game Paused" when the pause button is pressed that's all! please just tell me the most simple code that will display "game paused" when i click on pause.
Thank you in advance!

Something along the lines of this:
var text;
var pauseButton = this.game.add.sprite(10, 10, 'pauseButton');
pauseButton.inputEnabled = true;
pauseButton.events.onInputUp.add(function () {
this.game.paused = true;
var style = {fill : '#FFF'};
text = game.add.text(game.width * 0.5, game.height * 0.5, "Game Over!", style);
text.anchor.set(0.5, 0.5);
}, this);
game.input.onDown.add(function () {
if (this.game.paused) {
this.game.paused = false;
text.destroy();
}
}, this);
pauseButton.fixedToCamera = true;
Added it right in your code, you may want to adjust what is a local variable and what is a field. You can include text properties in the style variable or you can set them later on via text.font, text.fontSize and so on, see the API documentation.

Global Variables only Called Once then Lost their Scope

I Have a Problem with my Script and hope helping me, and thanks in advance, i still learning javascript and try to learn somthing new everyday, i have a script that draw modeless interface (palette) and have button including (option) that make another new palette (for options), i made the variables as globals for the option palette, but the problem is the global variables is only called once!, and the script lose the global variable scope!.
enter image description here
so my question is how to make the variables not losing its scope and retain in the memory? as long the script run, as an Example if the user move the slider and hit (Show alert due options) its only run once and then lose the scope, even the slider no longer interact with the user and update text box, please test the code to see the problem, and thank again for any help or advice.

If I understand you correctly you need to use as global variables values rather than the objects. And you can change the values of global variables by onClick events.
Here is the bottom part of your code (the rest part of the code wasn't changed):
...
function TestVars() {
#targetengine "session1";
var myDoc = app.activeDocument
var TimeMs = Number(SliderControlText_text); //Converting Text to Number
//Show Results Found as User Wish
if (DontShowResults_value == true) { //no Show only Apply
alert("you Select not to Show Results!");
} else { //Direct Show and Apply
if (ShowResultsDirect_value == true) {
alert("you Select to Show Results in real time!");
} else { //Show and Apply By WaitinhTime!
if (ShowResults_value == true) { //Show and Apply
alert("you Select to Show Results with Specific time!");
$.sleep(TimeMs); //Wait ms
}
}
}
alert("Do you need somthing else?, try again", "Finish Report");
}
// values! not objects
var DontShowResults_value = true;
var ShowResultsDirect_value = false;
var ShowResults_value = false;
var SliderControlText_text = '10';
var slider_value = 10;
//--------------------------------------------Building the Find Options Palette-----------------------------------------//
//--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------//
function CalltheFindOptions() {
#targetengine "session1";
//Find Options Window
findoptions.text = "Find Options";
//Parent - Input Panel Prepare
SelectPanel = findoptions.add("panel", undefined, undefined, {
name: "panel1"
});
SelectPanel.text = " Find Options : ";
SelectPanel.preferredSize.width = 1000;
SelectPanel.orientation = "row";
SelectPanel.alignChildren = ["center", "center"];
SelectPanel.spacing = 10;
SelectPanel.margins = 16;
//Children - input Panel Inside Prepare
var mySelectPanelInside = SelectPanel.add("group", undefined, {
name: "mySelOpt"
});
var DontShowResults = mySelectPanelInside.add("checkbox", undefined, "Don't Show Results");
DontShowResults.value = DontShowResults_value; //by Default
DontShowResults.alignment = "left";
// change the global variable by click
DontShowResults.onClick = function() { DontShowResults_value = DontShowResults.value }
var ShowResultsDirect = mySelectPanelInside.add("checkbox", undefined, "Show Results");
ShowResultsDirect.value = false; //by Default
// change the global variable by click
ShowResultsDirect.onClick = function() { ShowResultsDirect_value = ShowResultsDirect.value }
var ShowResults = mySelectPanelInside.add("checkbox", undefined, "Show Results Delayed in milliseconds(Ms) :");
ShowResults.value = ShowResults_value; //by Default
// change the global variable by click
ShowResults.onClick = function() { ShowResults_value = ShowResults.value }
//Adding Slider to Control MS Time
// SliderControlText = mySelectPanelInside.add("edittext", undefined, 10, {
var SliderControlText = mySelectPanelInside.add("edittext", undefined, SliderControlText_text, {
readonly: false
}); //read only prevent user Entering Nums
SliderControlText.characters = 3;
var slider = mySelectPanelInside.add("slider {minvalue: 1, maxvalue: 100, value: 10}");
// change slider every time as numbers is changes
SliderControlText.onChanging = function() {slider.value = SliderControlText.text};
//Slider Listener Plus SliderControl Text Listener
slider.onChanging = function () {
SliderControlText.text = slider.value;
// change the global variable by onChange
SliderControlText_text = SliderControlText.text;
} //Listen to Slider
findoptions.show();
}
It seems it works as intended.
As far as I can tell (I can be wrong), the cause of the problem was that the objects ShowResultsDirect, ShowResultsDirect, etc, disappears as soon as you close the palette. Because they are elements of the palette. They can't keep values if the palette is closed. That why they worked well only when you open the palette first time.

Wheelnav.js, not clickable NavItems

I've started using Wheelnav.js. Currently my Wheel is toogled on/off with pressing and releasing X. I also got some hover effects, my Problem is that my NavItems are Clickable.. if i click a item it is "selected" and i cant hover over it anymore.
https://gyazo.com/29f73fd2fb0f8bbf1f634931686c3ec6
In this example i clicked on Item1
You have to set the selected property to false and refresh the wheel.
window.onload = function () {
wheel = new wheelnav("wheelDiv");
wheel.createWheel();
wheel.animateFinishFunction = disableSelected;
};
var disableSelected = function () {
for (var i = 0; i < this.navItemCount; i++) {
if (this.navItems[i].selected) {
this.navItems[i].selected = false;
this.navItems[i].refreshNavItem(true);
}
}
}

Disabling In on Spreader Click

I've tried to disable click on the 'Spreader' button. Cant seem to stop it from closing. I have an onmousedown event i want to keep but i don't want to close the spreader. Anyone know the best way to disable click on spreader?
You can set the minPercent property to achieve your needs.
var wheel;
window.onload = function () {
wheel = new wheelnav("wheelDiv");
wheel.spreaderEnable = true;
wheel.createWheel(["This", "is", "custom", "spreader"]);
wheel.spreadWheel();
var wheelspreader = document.getElementById("wheelnav-wheelDiv-spreader");
var wheelspreadertitle = document.getElementById("wheelnav-wheelDiv-spreadertitle");
wheelspreader.onmousedown = function() {openSpreader();}
wheelspreadertitle.onmousedown = function() {openSpreader();}
};
var openSpreader = function() {
wheel.minPercent = wheel.maxPercent;
}
Here is a JS Bin for that.

how to return shape from mouse event evt.currentTarget.children[0]

var stage, output;
function init() {
stage = new createjs.Stage("testCanvas");
// this lets our drag continue to track the mouse even when it leaves the canvas:
// play with commenting this out to see the difference.
stage.mouseMoveOutside = true;
var circle = new createjs.Shape();
circle.graphics.beginFill("red").drawRoundRect(0, 0, 100,20,10);
//console.log(circle.graphics.command.radius);
var label = new createjs.Text("drag me", "bold 14px Arial", "#FFFFFF");
label.textAlign = "center";
label.y = -7;
var dragger = new createjs.Container();
dragger.x = 50;
dragger.y = 10;
dragger.addChild(circle, label);
stage.addChild(dragger);
dragger.on("pressmove",function(evt) {
// currentTarget will be the container that the event listener was added to:
//evt.currentTarget.x = evt.stageX;
//evt.currentTarget.y = evt.stageY;
// make sure to redraw the stage to show the change:
//console.log(evt.currentTarget.children[0].graphics.command);
var newWidth= evt.stageX - evt.currentTarget.x;
console.log(evt.currentTarget.children[0].graphics);
if(newWidth<0)
newWidth = 0;
evt.currentTarget.children[0].graphics.command.w= newWidth;
evt.currentTarget.children[1].x= newWidth/2;
stage.update();
});
stage.update();
}
this code is working fine under http://www.createjs.com/demos
(i can reach this evt.currentTarget.children[0].graphics.command.w, because evt.currentTarget.children[0] returns shape)
but not on your own html. it is there any js i need to add in the heading?
Did you checked if "pressmove" trigger?
Maybe you should use this stage.enableMouseOver(20); to enable mouse events.

Triggering clearIconTap callback on dynamically created fields

I am creating a simple app using Sencha Touch where I'm dynamically creating container with textfields, textareafields etc. when the user needs to add new container with components. The problem now is when the clear icon on the textareafield is tapped it clears the text, but I would like to know which textareafield has been cleared. Can anyone help me in this please?
This is how I created container .
var childObj2 = {};
childObj2.xtype = 'container';
var type = 'vbox';
var layout = {}
layout.type = type;
childObj1.layout = layout;
var txtarea= {};
txtarea.xtype = 'textareafield';
txtarea.id = "txt51";
txtarea.flex = 3;
txtarea.maxRows = 7;
txtarea.placeHolder = 'Type here';
txtarea.value = value['notes'];
txtarea.inputCls = 'txtareaStyle'
txtarea.clearicontap = "clearText";
How to add clearicontap listener to this?
When you you create a textfield simply add a listener to it for the clearicontap event and that callback will get executed for each of the fields.
For example:
var container = Ext.create('Ext.Container', {});
for (var i=1; i<=3; i++) {
var field = Ext.create('Ext.field.Text', {
id: 'textfieldnumber' + i,
listeners: {
clearicontap: function() {
alert("Tapped clear icon on text field number: " + i + "!");
}
}
});
container.add(field);
}
[EDIT]
I answer the question you make after your edit:
I am using the standard way of creating Sencha components through Ext.create(), and I would suggest you to switch to the same way. It is not clear by the code you posted how those Javascript objects are actually transformed into Ext components. Anyway, they are very likely components configurations, so I guess you could try:
txtarea.listeners = {
clearicontap: function() {
alert("Tapped clear icon on text field");
}
}
