I have laravel 5 app working quite well on local server but as I transfer its all files to my server in directory (not in root) and accessing it like http://example.com/directory/public/ its showing "500 Internal Server Error". I have searched on Stack Overflow and found it could be error with .htaccess.
I tried adding Rewritebase / and Options All but nothing worked. Tried .htaccess code provided in Laravel docs but it didn't work.
Storage directory is set to 0777 and Laravel log file is set to 0666. Most files are set to 0664 and 0666. Deleting .htaccess file from public folder also shows same error.
I have just FTP'd the files of Laravel app from local to live server.
If you have shared hosting then move all the files and folders from public to the root directory and change the paths in the index.php file accordingly. And either rename the public folder or delete it.
I think you cannot access public folder like you are accessing it even on your local machine. You first run the server then access it with the directory name. But if you don't want to run the server then do what I have mentioned in the first paragraph. That will also work on your live server. Access it with the address http://example.com/directory

I'm moving this website http://farmtrust.tn built using PrestaShop in a new Hosting provider. This is the new URL http://shop.farmtruster.com. And now when I try to access the admin back-end I get a FatalErrorException.
FatalErrorException
Compile Error: Symfony\Component\Debug\DebugClassLoader::loadClass(): Failed opening required '/var/www/html/vendor/composer/../symfony/symfony/src/Symfony/Bundle/SecurityBundle/DependencyInjection/Compiler/RegisterCsrfTokenClearingLogoutHandlerPass.php' (include_path='/var/www/html/vendor/pear/pear_exception:/var/www/html/vendor/pear/console_getopt:/var/www/html/vendor/pear/pear-core-minimal/src:/var/www/html/vendor/pear/archive_tar:.:/usr/share/php')
in DebugClassLoader.php line 156
Also, the site is not functioning http://shop.farmtruster.com it shows Not Found.
The requested URL was not found on this server.
I'm trying to host in AWS in an EC2 instance I've installed xampp first but then it stopped suddenly functioning so I installed manually PHP MySQL apache...
The website files are in var/www/html folder Note that http://shop.farmtruster.com redirects me to http://shop.farmtruster.com/fr/ so I've concluded that traduction is working.
I hope you can help me
Debug steps:
Check if that .php file does exist in that location, if not copy it (them) over from the original Prestashop archive.
Remove the var/cache completely, it'll get recreated.
Check the files and directories ownership/permissions. The owner should be the apache user and the permissions 0755 for directories and 0644 for the files.
I am getting 500 Internal server.I have uploaded files to the server using Filezila .and when i am browsing it.Its showing internal server error.
Whats is the permission of your files and directory's which you have uploaded in your account. Also check your .htaccess file code.
There may be several reasons , let me list few which i think might be the reason.
1) Check the folder and file permissions on the hosting . Folder permission should be 755 and the file permission should be 644 by default to work on
2) If there is any .htaccess file try to remove that file and check again reloading (Note : if you are using cPanel try selecting show hidden files in file manager to view the .htaccess file )
3) whether your db is been properly configured in the configuration file of your MVC site ( however if it is the reason the page will will throw some db connectivity error . just in case if it is i am asking you to check )
If that helps, update me . If not, Kindly post the error log which can be taken in cPanel or if you are using different solution ask your hosting provider on how to view error log.
The best and universal approach if you have root access on the server would be to look for more information in the web server log:
/usr/local/apache/logs/error_log
If you do not have root access, you can check the Error log in cPanel -> Errors, it will provide you with more details on what the problem is.
I'm working on a Symfony2 project at local server without any virtual hosting or something else. After I run the command php app/console assets:install --symlink, clear the cache and refresh the page none styles or javascript or images are loaded. Inspecting the source code and trying to access any of those assets I get this error:
You don't have permission to access
/cmplatform/web/bundles/clanmovilcommon/css/bootstrap.min.css on this
server.
What I need to change in my /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf to fix that problem? It's related to .htaccess problem or what?
This error is due to the user that you are currently logged in as not having correct to write to the /cmplatform/web directory. Or you have not got the root path set correctly in your apache.conf.
Can you confirm other pages / assets are being served correctly.
Take a look at who owns the directory and either adjust the write permissions or add your user / web server to own the directory or into the group.
This is quite a common issue - and care needs to be taken to ensure that write permissions for web, cache and log directories are set correctly to allow command line and web server (e.g. apache / nginx) users.
See http://symfony.com/doc/current/book/installation.html - permissions for some tips about fixing this.
I am using Apache server. Usually when I want to start a new website project, I created a new folder inside my server directory and inside that folder I would have 'index.html or index.php'. When I direct my localhost URL to that folder, it would open it and automatically display index.php.
Now I am trying something new with this CakePHP framework. I finished setting it up, and when I direct my localhost URL to folder 'cakephp-cakephp' (folder containing all the cakePHP files), it then shows me this message:
Release Notes for CakePHP 2.0.0-dev.
Your tmp directory is writable.
The FileEngine is being used for caching. To change the config edit APP/config/core.php
Your database configuration file is present.
I think the next step here is to start the development by saving all my files to "app" folder. But the message is not gone even when I deleted the default index.php files from inside the folder 'cakephp-cakephp'. It seems anyway, the index.php files do not actually generate the message.
Does anybody know what file generates that release notes message? I want to delete that file so that I wont get the message (which I believe is triggered by some default file like 'index.php') when I access folder 'cakephp-cakephp', and then it will show me the file directory inside that folder instead, and I can traverse file directory easily using my browser and access my app folder, in which I am planning to store my index.php file, and save all my development files..
You cannot delete the index.php files and you usually don't modify those files unless you need to do some special configuration. Adding the file app/views/pages/home.ctp gets rid of that message and becomes your default home page.
Also, as stated in the comments, you should really read the manual and try the tutorial.

im working with cms made simple.my problem is my template folder permission.in this cms when a template uploaded,a folder (by the same name of that temlate, for example : 'TEMP1') creates and it's permission is set to 0755.when i want to change permission of the template folder i will get this error :
FileOp Failure on: /home/visamast/public_html/uploads/arty1: Operation not permitted
and also when i want to upload files via ftp or cpanel to this folder nothing will happen,i mean the upload process will be done, but no files has been uploaded!!!!!!!!
how can i fix this problem?!
It sound like you are having an ownership problem rather than a permission problem. If your server is set up to run PHP as a module, files and directories created by PHP will be owned by the generic Apache user. Generally that means that you will not be able to change permissions on the file/directory. Most likely you will need to have your hosting company do a recursive chown on the entire directory tree your site is in to make you the owner of all of the files and directories.
