I've got a graph that isn't behaving as it should in CloudConnect.
I'm running it locally, and it's completing, but not doing its work.
In an effort to figure out why this is, I've added printLog calls in many places, like the following
printLog(warn, 'transfrom from file ' + $in.0.fileName);
printLog(debug, 'joining etc');
The Phase consists of a FileList into a SimpleCopy, into a LookupJoin, a Reformat (produce SQL) and a DBInsert.
However, while I see logs for phases above, I'm not seeing anything produced in the log for any part of my phase. All parts of the phase do report running successfully in log. I've also done Enable Debugging on all connections in this phase.
Am I missing something to enable logging? Is there a better way to debug processing in CloudConnect?
Discovered the problem - the FileList will succeed if the source file cannot be found, but none of the subsequent steps will then fire. It's somewhat unintuitive, since the log files says 'succeeded'.
For debugging, after run you can access the data by right clicking on the connection, and selecting "View Data"
Sorry for the elementary question, but documentation didn't seem to cover this clearly, at least for a GoodData noob. I'll leave it up for anyone with the same problem!

Is there a way to get Karate to automatically print the name of each scenario as it is executed into the logs? We have a reasonably large suite that generates ~25MB of log data in our Jenkins pipeline console output and sometimes it’s a little tricky trying to match a line where com.intuit.karate logs an ERROR to the failure summary at the end of the run. It is most likely possible to obtain the scenario name and print() it but that would mean adding code to many hundred scenarios which I’d like to avoid.
As part of the fix for this issue Karate will log the Scenario name (if not empty) along with any failure trace.
A beta version with this fix is available 0.6.1.2 it would be great if you can try it and confirm.
If you feel more has to be done, do open a ticket and we'll do our best to get this into the upcoming 0.6.2 release.
I'm developing plugins for a program. Whenever I try to load my plugin in that program it crashes with an the specified procedure could not be foundbut nothing more.
Well to have an insight I tracked with Process Monitor (or ProcMon). I set the filter to just print messages for the process of my main program. However that application shows me including the libraries ends (after wandering through PATH) at the right file - i.e. Result: SUCCESS.
So my computer left me pretty clueless, yet refuses to work. Has anyone an idea how identify the missing procedure?
N.B.: Additionally I ran the DependencyWalker which gave me the usual error message because it's deprecated (dependency walker gives me errors on the system that runs correctly) - which could indicate that all dependencies are found.
I'm having some issues with my code that I wasn't able to find anywhere.
Issue: While debugging my code, running it line by line with F8 in Excel, at some specific points excel does not wait for the application with which it's interacting to finish and proceeds to execute the rest of the code.
What is the macro: It's an a macro to automatically input information on SAP, in this case VA02. I do belive that this question is more VBA related than SAP related thus I'm posting here and not on SCN.
Where the problem occurs: The issue only happens when I'm changing the partners numbers in the Partner tab(either header or line item level). I've also saw this happens whenever I was trying to add something on the Conditions tab.
What error does it cause?: None, that's the odd part. While debugging, after I execute the line to change the Bill to Party for example ( Only change the number, no Enter or any other key is send) the code keeps running and execute the next lines. The even more off thing is that SAP seems to still be processing some of the changes but the VBA code keeps running without errors, meaning that SAP is not on the screen its showing.
So, if there's no errors what you want?: Well, while in regullar run mode it work flawleslly, this issue really makes it very hard to debug, forcing me to put a breakpoint in every... single...code...line...
What have you tried?: I've looked into Async and forced sync, no avail. Also looked in something related to Background Refresh but I guess that's only for query connections, I tried it with SAP GUI connection but also didn't worked.
Hope anyone can shed some light on this subject, maybe saw this previously. I will try to test on a peers computes but didn't had the chance yet, will post my findings after.
Thank you for reading and maybe replying =)
This is just a pice of the code as it's huge, I've noticed the problem is different parts, always the part that's inputing info on SAP. My peer write similar codes, that do the same thing on the same fields and he never got this erro so I think it might be related to excel somehow
'Bill site
Connection.findById("ses[" & Sesn & "]/wnd[0]/usr/" & ref & "/subSUBSCREEN_PARTNER_OVERVIEW:SAPLV09C:1000/tblSAPLV09CGV_TC_PARTNER_OVERVIEW/ctxtGVS_TC_DATA-REC-PARTNER[1,1]").Text = Dwks.Cells(2, "N")
For this program the erro usually start on this line, but on other ones i've seen it start on different ones. There's nothing special about this code line, i've used it many times. What comes before it is also pretty standard, just the SAP connection. I'm avoiding post the code here because I'm sure that this is not the cause of the problem, is the same sintax i've always used, with the same elements. This is something excel related.
When I preview rows in Text file Input control of Pentaho, no rows appear and 'Show log' option displays this message
"Dispatching started for transformation".
What does it mean? How to overcome this issue?
It seems that either your transformation is invalid (you're missing one essential checkbox or another) or your PDI installation isn't working properly.
Which JAVA version are you using? And which PDI version? Try it on a fresh install and if it still doesn't work, go over your text file input step and validate that it's correctly configured.
Also, try removing all other steps, it could be that one of the subsequent steps is the one causing problems and stopping PDI from starting the transformation execution.
Well... maybe it's quite late, but I'm currently struggling with this issue in the Pentaho Community Version 8.
What I found, and solved some of my issues is that this message can be a potential warning for a Deadlock process. You have to be sure that none of this situations are present in your code:
An external component like a table lock by the database blocks the transformation.
The "Block this step until steps finish" step might run into a deadlock when there are more rows to process than the number of Rows in Rowset.
Within transformations there are situations when streams get split and joined again, so that the transformation blocks by design.
You could see full examples in the Jira Pentaho documentation page:

I hope that it will help you!
I'm trying to use the VssGet task of the MSBuild Community Tasks, and the error message "File or project not found" is beating me with a stick. I can't figure out what in particular the error message is referring to. Here's the task:
<LocalFilePath Include="C:\Documents and Settings\michaelc\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\Astronom\Astronom.sln" />
<VssGet DatabasePath="\\ofmapoly003\Individual\michaelc\VSS\Astronom_VSS\srcsafe.ini"
Path="$/Astronom_VSS"
LocalPath="#(LocalFilePath)"
UserName="build" Password="build"
Recursive="True" />
If I write a Streamreader to read to either the database path or the local path, it succeeds fine. So the path to everything appears to be accessible. Any ideas?
Two thoughts. One, sometimes a type load exception manifests as a FNF - let's hope that's not it. But if the code is actually being honest, you can track the problem using Procmon or Filemon. Start one of those utilities and then run your task again. You should be able to track down a record of a file that couldn't be located.
#famoushamsandwich that's a great response -- I had not previously heard of procmon or filemon. Tried procmon on the problem, but even after sifting through the relevant output (my gosh the machine does a lot more stuff behind the screen than I was aware of) I couldn't find where a file I'm referencing wasn't being found.
Procmon and Filemon are good suggestions - just make sure you filter the results to only show errors. Otherwise the success messages will bury the problem entries. Also, you can filter out processes that are not at fault (either through the filter dialog or by right-clicking the entry and choosing "Exclude Process".)
A couple other thoughts:
In the LocalFilePath, you are specifying a single file as opposed to a folder. The task, on the other hand, specifies to get files recursively. Perhaps you need to remove "\Astronom.sln" from the LocalFilePath?
Is the build task being run under your account or another? It's possible you have a permissions issue
Do you already have a copy of the code pulled down in the same location? Perhaps there is a failure to overwrite an existing file/folder?
