I have some set of doc files(nearly 300+) which needs to be uploaded in a site. With Visual studio 2010 test automation, coded UI test, I have recorded the steps for a single file and when i run my code it worked.
Now, I want this to happen in loop, after uploading the 1st file, when the code runs again and when it hits the upload button it should pick the second file from my file location. How to code this ?
Any help would be appreciated.
Record and play back will work for one file that you recorded. You need to do some code changes by taking the recorded code and parameterize the files to the line of code.
First get the files from director
Use (Collection / Array) = Directory.GetFiles(#"FilePath"); //in C#
With this collection/array list you can pass arguments to your ui map code that you copied and repeat until all files get upload.

I am running Excel version 16.45 on Mac.
I have created a .iqy and saved it in the Queries directory alongside certain templates which were already there.
I go to Data/Get External Data/Run Web Queries. While the templates are accessible, my file is visible but greyed out (same thing happens if I save the file in a different directory).
Would anyone be able to help?
According to your information, I would like to confirm whether the issue occurs when you follow the steps as below:
1.Create a Word file, paste the web URL.
2.Save the Word as .iqy with .txt format.
3.Choose MS-DOS as coding.
4.Create an Excel file and click "Data >Get External Data >Run Web Query (Or Run Saved Query) " of the Bar
I was able to address the issue as follows.
When navigating to the relevant directory with Finder, the '.iqy' file appears to be appropriately named (as per Image 1).
In fact, if you reach the file in Terminal, the file is saved as '.iqy.txt'.
So all I had to do is rename the file, simply removing the '.txt' string at the end.
Screen you see when navigating in Finder
I have a folder of PDF files, what I want to do is build a small app with directional arrows that when pressed should upload the next PDF file from the uploaded/Selected folder.
I have tried uploading single PDF and I was able to view it, but I'm unable to find any good resource on how to upload a whole directory inside the application for me to not upload each PDF every single time.
I should be able to change my current opened PDF to the next one inside the folder.
The way to do this in Vue is as follows:
Make a input field and attach the event "v-on:input" with the function that will be called when the input is selected.
Don't forget to add "webkitdirectory mozdirectory" for firefox and chrome browsers.
Inside the function fetch the input query via "document.querySelectorAll('input');". The information of files will be inside files object.
I'm pretty new to VB so I need a bit of help with some coding.
I made a program that should download a certain file to what ever directory the user wants, but now i want my program to run that certain file but i don't know how to do it since the user used his/her own directory.
Like i want the program to run that certain file no matter where its saved, how do i do that?
I do know this code:
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("C:\")
but this doesnt really work since i have to put in a directory before i use the program.
You can get the path of the SFD by using filename.
Dim Path as String
Path = SaveFileDialog.FileName
Then run the file.
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(Path)
Found another way of doing it,
I just used:
file.open(textbox1.text)
And made it take the text forom the the other textbox the user browsed the file to
I am using robotframework ,selenium2Library, selenium2 and python27 to test web program. It need to upload a file in my web program. I use Choose File to give file path value to input filed. But it is not work for firefox and it works fine in chrome. When I upload file manually in firefox, it works. It is a register page. Javascript code told that file upload field is empty when the form is trying to submit, since selenium seems did not give the file path to the value of file upload field. And other input fields all have been input values, no matter fields before this file upload filed nor those fields after it. Does anyone know how to solve this problem or is there any alternative solutions?
I've had success having selenium type the file path into the webpage directly. It works most of the time, but the site I use it on is being constantly updated and one week you can type a file path, the next week you can't, the following week you can again.
I say this as a precaution that this may not be the ultimate solution, but there are instances where it works. Your particular case may be able to use this method.
driver.find_element_by_name("FILE_UPLOAD_ELEMENT_NAME").send_keys(os.path.expanduser("~/PATH_TO_FILE"))
Feel free to find element by any other characteristic and replace the all caps parts be appropriate for your use.
I am using code similar to the below to add some files to a zip folder:
Set oApp = CreateObject("Shell.Application")
oApp.Namespace(CVar(strDest)).CopyHere CVar(strSource)
This works fine most of the time, but sometimes I get an error:
"(Compressed (zipped) Folders Error) Cannot create output file". This error is raised asynchronously outside of my VBA code and as such I cannot trap it to take remedial action.
If I enter break mode and step back to:
oApp.Namespace(CVar(strDest)).CopyHere CVar(strSource)
then the file is added correctly.
I am guessing that there is some kind of lock either on the compressed folder or the source file that is causing this problem, but I am unsure as to how to check this. I should note that the files are being added are pdf files created from Microsoft Access 2007 and we are using the fully qualified paths and the code runs as follows creating up to 10 pdfs per zip file:
Create Zip
Run this loop:
For Each ReportToRun
CreatePdf ' using DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "rptHame", acFormatPDF, strReportName
AddToZip
Next
Any idea how to either fix this or trap the Cannot create output file error?
Thanks
I've very successfully used the open souurce Info Zip DLLs. See Compression DLLs, OCXs, etc for links and sample VB code.
Two thoughts, neither likely to fix the issue:
Have you tried explicitly providing FALSE as the next argument, i.e., the AutoStart argument? The help file say it defaults to FALSE, but maybe it's opening the PDFs after generating them, so that they are still open?
add a SLEEP of a couple of seconds (see Make code go to Sleep for the code).
alternatively, loop through all your reports and generate all of them, then start a new loop to copy each one into the zip file, rather than generate/copy for each report. Having a couple of seconds sleep between the two loops might not hurt (assuming that the problem is that the asynchronous PDF generation process is not fully complete at the point the copy is initiated).
