Size argument exception - vb.net

I am experiencing a first chance excpetion:
I am completely baffled what is going on here.
As I see in the inspector, Height is 732 and Width is 1114.
Looks absolutely fine to me.
Does anybody have any idea why the error might occur?

_CompanyLogo.Size gets or sets the width and height of the control. It doesn't contain the size of the control
Probably you're looking for
Dim nSize1 as Size
nSize1.Width = _CompanyLogo.Width
nSize1.Height = _CompanyLogo.Height

change CAMetalLayer background color

My CAMetalLayer background color is black, even if i'm assigning new color as the backgroundColor property.
Am i missing something? Thanks!
Link to the original project :
https://github.com/audiokit/MetalParticles
This project takes a rather unconventional approach to clearing the drawable's texture each frame: it replaces the textures contents with an array of zeros that is the same size as the texture (width * height * 4). Subsequently, it encodes some compute work that actually draws the particles. This is almost certainly not the most efficient way to achieve this effect, but if you want to make the smallest change that could possibly work (as opposed to experimenting with making the code as efficient as possible), Just fill the blankBitmapRawData array with your desired clear color (near line 82 of ParticleLab.swift).
I have gone through your code and can not see a place where you are setting background Color.
The metal layer is added as a sublayer to it, so you have to set it explicitly.
Add this line at the end of your init method in ParticialLab class and see if it works.
self.backgroundColor = UIColor.redColor().CGColor
I found that self.isOpaque = false was needed on the layer.

width/height ratio preserved after a call to qtextimageformat.setWidth()?

In order to insert an image in a QTextDocument I have to modify its width and its height and to keep the original image's ratio. Hence my code :
qtextimageformat.setWidth( new_width );
cursor.insertImage( qtextimageformat, position )
I thought it was mandatory to modify the width and height but I was surprized to see that the call to .setWidth() somehow preserved the image's ratio, as if .setHeight() was implicitly called with the right parameter.
Is this the expected behaviour ? Or I am missing something ? The documentation didn't help me.
This is expected behavior, even if it is not explicit in documentation. The static functions QSize getImageSize(QTextDocument *doc, const QTextImageFormat &format) and QSize getPixmapSize(QTextDocument *doc, const QTextImageFormat &format) in qtextimagehandler.cpp automatically deduce the height if only width was specified in QTextImageFormat (and the opposite too)

Cannot change polygon 'size' every repeat in Builder

I'm using Builder v1.80.06
I can vary the position of a polygon every repeat easily enough
e.g. I have a Positions list
positions=[[1,1],[1.1,0.9],...]
and in the 'Position field' have :
$positions[0]
and then change it's value in a code block on each repeat.
BUT I want to vary the size in a similar manner with a $sizes list but get an error.
Looking at the generated code, the problem is at the object creation stage. the code generated is:
for a hard coded polygon (ie ok)
polygon_1 = visual.Rect(win=win, name='polygon_1',
width=[1.5, .2][0], height=[1.5, .2][1],
ori=0, pos=[0, -0.6],
lineWidth=1, lineColor=[1,1,1], lineColorSpace=u'rgb',
fillColor=[0,1,0], fillColorSpace=u'rgb',
opacity=1,interpolate=True)
for one populated by a variable (not working):
polygon_2= visual.Rect(win=win, name='polygon_2',
width=1.0[0], height=1.0[1],
ori=0, pos=[0,0],
lineWidth=1, lineColor=[1,1,1], lineColorSpace=u'rgb',
fillColor=[1,0,0], fillColorSpace=u'rgb',
opacity=1,interpolate=True)
It complains (rightly) that 1.0[0] makes no sense on the width and height parameters
Even though I have my sizes list instantiated in a code block right at the beginning of the experiment instead of reading $sizes[0] a default float value of 1.0 is used.
Any other suggestions for how to vary the polygon size dynamically at runtime using builder?
I could just take the generated code and drop it into coder I suppose and fix the problem but I want to hand this over to a researcher so would like for them to be able to maintain it.
thanks,
If you set size to be a tuple/list with a pair values [1.2,1.5] or [1,1] does that not fix it?
When you change attributes at runtime, just change the attribute of an existing stimulus instead of instantiating a full new stimulus. The latter is quite heavy on ressources, causing unreliable timing. So do
stim = visual.Rect(win) # instantiation, ressource heavy
stim.attribute = newValue # change attribute. lighter.
I can think of two ways you could do it in a pretty neat way. The first is to set width and height explicitly instead of the size attribute, but using a size-like value. So (removing all parameters not of interest):
polygon_2 = visual.Rect(win)
# Unpack the x,y-sizes to the stimulus .width and .height attributes
newSize = (1.5, 0.2)
polygon_2.width, polygon_2.height = newSize
The second, if the size attribute is really important to use, is to use the Polygin with edges=4 to make it a rectangle:
polygon_2 = visual.Polygon(win=win, edges=4, size=(1.5, 0.2))
# Setting size
polygon_2.size = (0.8, 0.4)
Do try Jon's suggestion first. But the idea with visual.Rect and visual.Circleis to use substitute Polygon's size and vertices for something more relevant. So size can do unexpected things if width/height etc. are not 1.

auto adjusting the positions and height width of UILabel in iOS

I have designed my help page for my application,it contains some FAQs..so I have used UILabels for question and answer,I have adjusted,x,y,width and height exactly in the xib,leaving a gap between a question and answer and answer and next question.so totally I have some 10 question and answers,I have put them inside a scroll view.
But now, suppose the text changes dynamically, how can I adjust the positions and width and height,is a problem which I am not able to figure out, by using the below code,it adjusts the height and width of a particular label,if the text increases
NSString * test=#" It may come as a rude shock, but Facebook users should not feel surprised if tomorrow they come across their photos existing in the web world despite having deleted them personally long ago.";
m_testLabel.text = test;
m_testLabel.numberOfLines = 0; //will wrap text in new line
[m_testLabel sizeToFit];
but then, my next label will clash with it..is their any way so that all the labels get adjusted according if the width of any label increases or decreases?
Hope you all have understood my question..
Did you look into the below function, pass the font you have used and the size to which u want to constraint the label into.
- (CGSize)sizeWithFont:(UIFont *)font constrainedToSize:(CGSize)size

Adding hardcoded value to contentSize

I've been trying to make my scrollview correctly fit it's content which includes a label, UIImageView, and textview. The textview sizes dynamically to different text, so I've made the scrollview's content size the same as the textview's:
sview.contentSize = (tview.contentSize);
That worked as expected, so my scrollview is close to the size I want, but I need to just add a static 180 pixels or so to make up for the label and image, which don't change size. I would guess it's an easy 1 or 2 lines of code but I can't figure it out. I've tried:
sview.contentSize += 180;
and
CGRect extra;
extra.size.height = 180;
sview.contentSize += extra.size;
and several other combinations to try to make it work but I keep getting errors like Lvalue required as left operand of assignment, or invalid operands to binary +. I'm sure I'm missing an easy solution, thanks for any help.
sview.contentSize = CGSizeMake(sview.contentSize.width, sview.contentSize.height+180);
