How to find script language - scripting

I'm pretty new at writing scripts, so I hope I wont sound ridiculously :).
I'm trying to find the language in which this script is written.
Аny help is appreciated.

This looks like C, which is not a scripting language but a proper, compiled programming language. The function names STrMCmp don't really match any standard library that google would know, so this is hard to tell.

Can I write multiple raku Type smart matches on one line

I know that this will not work, since I tried it:
if $r ~~ BearingTrue || CompassAdj || CourseAdj { nextsame };
But - is there a neat, concise and legible way to do multiple Type smart matches on one line rather than have to expand to a given/when or if/else construct?
Have you tried :
if $r ~~ BearingTrue | CompassAdj | CourseAdj { nextsame };
This should give you an Any Junction that with then match OK.

So I decided to recast the code to use multi-method add and subtract to check type matches to prevent a lost mariner from adding a magnetic bearing to a true one. I feel that this is cleaner even than Scimon's great answer, since in that instance, my method was accepting all child types of Bearing and then using an if statement to detect a type error.

then follow the example at the top of bin/synopsis-navigation.raku to use the module and make the various classes available in your own code.
If you are just keen to see how the pieces fit then I suggest writing your own simple classes on similar lines and working through the examples in books such as ThinkRaku chapter 12. I recommend this for the clarity and level of information and it treats inheritance and roles equally.
I am confident that others will feel my code style is over-reliant on inheritance. I feel that since a magnetic-bearing is strictly a derived concept from a bearing-in-general that this is right for my code - but roles and composition is less restrictive and provides similar encapsulation with better maintainability.

Kotlin: lambda run alternative scenario

I have userDto, contains programs, which contains actual field. Actual program can be only one. I need to get it. Than, I run this:
userDto.programs.sortedBy { it.created }.findLast { it.actual }?
Okay, but I want to foresee case, when findLast returns null, & throw exception. Please, advice, how to do it?

You are pretty close actually :)! What you could do is:
userDto.programs.sortedBy { it.created }.findLast { it.actual } ?: throw RuntimeException()
Or if you're trying to actually avoid throwing an error(couldn't really tell with the way question is asked), you could just do an error check like this:
userDto.programs.sortedBy { it.created }.findLast { it.actual }?.let{
//rest of your code goes here
}

Kotlin use block function is not called on File.printWriter()

I'm new to Kotlin and I'm trying to do a simple task - create and write to a file. For some reason, using use() with a block function on printWriter() doesn't actually write.

In fact, the block function doesn't seem to be called at all - both "hmmm" and "finished writing" never show up, although the file itself is created (but is totally empty).
The much simpler writeText() works just fine - the file is created and the given text is written to the file.

What am I doing wrong in my use() version?
Edit: it seems to be a syntax issue with my block function. Looks like I have an extra pair of brackets? Would love a brief explanation as to why it makes it not work.
Edit 2: I think I understand now. The way I wrote it, I was essentially returning the block function itself rather than running through it.
So the problem was that the way I was writing the block function caused it to just return the inner block function, and not actually call it.
Here are two ways that work:

Although, for my purposes writeText() actually works just fine and is much shorter haha.

Bypassing functions that do not exist

how would it be possible to bypass functions that are not existing in DM
such that the main code would still run? Try/catch does not seem to work, e..g

As "unknown" commands are caught by the script-interpreter, there is no easy way to do this. However, you can construct a workaround by using ExecuteScriptCommand().
There is an example tutorial to be found in this e-book, but in short, you want to do something like the following:

This works nicely and easy for simple commands and if your task is only to "verify" that a script could run.
It becomes clumsy, when you need to pass around parameters. But even then there are ways to do so. (The 'outer' script could create an object and pass the object-ID per string. Similarly, the 'inner' script can do the same and return the script-object ID as exit-value.)
Note: You can of course also put doesfunctionexist inside the test-script, if you do only want to have a "safe test", but don't actually want to execute the command.
Depending on what you need there might also be another workaround solution: Wrapper-functions in a library. This can be useful if you want to run the same script on different PCs with some of which having the functionality - most likely some microscope - while others don't.
You can make your main-script use wrapper methods and then you install different versions of the wrapper method script scripts as libraries.

Object oriented design patterns for parsing text files?

As part of a software package I'm working on, I need to implement a parser for application specific text files. I've already specified the grammar for these file on paper, but am having a hard time translating it into easily readable/updatable code (right now just it passes each line through a huge number of switch statements).
So, are there any good design patterns for implementing a parser in a Java style OO environment?
Any easy way to break a massive switch into an OO design would be to have
pseudo code

Here your breaking each switch statement into a method on that token object to detect whether the next bit of the string is of that token type.
Previously:

One suggestion is to create property file where you define rules. Load it during run time and use if else loop (since switch statements also does the same internally). This way if you want to change some parsing rules you have to change .property file not code. :)
You need to learn how to express context free grammars. You should be thinking about the GoF Interpreter and parser/generators like Bison, ANTRL, lex/yacc, etc.
