Current situation:
One of our products exported via the Eclipse Product export wizard does no longer run, if the produced .exe is run directly. Unfortunately no error message is shown, the program just stops. I assume that no plug-in is loaded at all.
Interestingly the product runs in the following cases:
the created .exe is executed in the developer mode:
in cmd with MyApplication.exe -dev
in Eclipse with Launch an Eclipse application
my colleague, who uses the same code, can export the product and run it directly
the .exe, created by me, can be run on my colleague's PC and another PC
Furthermore I can build and run the other product as usual. Win 7 and Java 7 are installed on the three PCs.

I am not sure what the message means, but it also appears when the application is running in Eclipse. Therefore I ignored it.
There is no log file in \workspace. The folder .metadata does not exists.
What might have gone wrong:
The PDE build and export used to work, till I wanted to use Tycho as build system. Therefore I made the needed changes and finally I could build the two projects. Although the projects showed the same symptoms as described above (one worked, the other not). Therefore I created a SVN branch, committed every change and switched back to the trunk, to be back in the starting position. But the symptoms were not gone. Therefore I assume that I must have changed some setting, which causes the problem.
What I tried:
Basically I checked if the code and settings were back in the original state. I also switched the Eclipse workspace and imported the necessary plug-ins again. I also rebooted the PC once or twice.
Question:
Did anybody already have a similar behavior? Any hint is welcome.
(I know that my problem description is vague, sorry for that.)

I am currently using the linux-x86.img which I downloaded from the documentation page for gem5 (http://www.m5sim.org/Download), but since I was not able to compile the fscanf and fopen commands on this image I was wondering if there is a more recent image which I could download and use instead.
The error message throw when trying to compile the lines with fopen and fscanf are

This error is thrown when trying to compile from both from qemu as well as gem5.
Here's one setup that generates such an image with Buildroot. I'm a fan of Buildroot because it builds everything from source. I don't understand how fscanf and fopen could fail in that image, but I have tested them in the above setup and they work fine.
Boot used to work in the past, but gem5 X86 full system boot has been broken for likely easy to fix reasons for a few months now as of March 2020 on the gem5 side, although there are efforts in place to fix it, and so likely it will work again soon: https://www.gem5.org/project/2020/03/09/boot-tests.html

I am not sure why the error is no longer occurring for me, but documenting the steps I went through which might have fixed something. I was given a fairly large program to compile and run with extremely vague instructions on how to properly configure my system and install the program. I was told to use a Windows, install Cygwin, navigate to the program's base directory, and type "make". I installed Cygwin on a 64-bit Windows 7 in C:\cygwin64 as the main user (I also installed all of the default packages, plus a few extras) and then ran the makefile included with the program (this worked with no problems). When trying to run the executable with a required file argument, I was simply given the error message "cannot connect to X server." Upon examination of the code, it appears that this error was caused by a line setting display=XOpenDisplay(NULL) and then exiting when this resulted in display == NULL. Earlier, "display" had been declared as a variable of type Display. Is there any way I can get the program to connect to the X server? I have been assured that the installation of the program is extremely easy, but I'm not so sure... Thanks in advance.
I have 5 scheduled tasks that are scheduled to run every day at 9.30am. The schedule is basically a vbs script that opens an excel workbook and runs a macro. These 5 schedules can run fine if i run them seperately and 9 times out of 10 they run fine if I simulataneously run them from task scheduler. I do this by highlighting them all and then pressing run.
But sometimes when the task scheduler is doing its schedule they will fail. Sometimes all of them fail, sometimes some of them fail, but most of the time they all succeed.
Once I okay the errors(will post this next time it occurs) I can see the excel.exe in my Processes in TaskManager they are left hanging. I cannot see them in Applications because I run them in the background. Whilst here I know I can right click on the excel.exe and do a Create Dump file, but not sure what to do with this.
What I am interested here is discovering why they are failing? How do I debug it? Can I get a dump? how do i do this? I am sure the code is not perfect but the fact that they run fine seperately and most of the time fine together I am wondering is some memory resource getting used up at this time. This is what I would like to find out.
I know that i could space them out to run every minute, and this is something I might do but I would like to answer my questions above first.

You can also start in a debugger.
windbg or ntsd (ntsd is a console program and maybe installed). Both are also from Debugging Tools For Windows.

Install the Windows SDK but just choose the debugging tools.
Create a folder called Symbols in C:\
Start Windbg. File menu - Symbol File Path and enter

windbg -o -g -G c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /k batfile.bat
You can press F12 to stop it and kb will show the call stack (g continues the program). If there's errors it will also stop and show them.
Type lm to list loaded modules, x ! to list the symbols and bp symbolname to set a breakpoint
If programming in VB6 then this environmental variable link=/pdb:none stores the symbols in the dll rather than seperate files. Make sure you compile the program with No Optimisations and tick the box for Create Symbolic Debug Info. Both on the Compile tab in the Project's Properties.
Also CoClassSyms (microsoft.com/msj/0399/hood/hood0399.aspx) can make symbols from type libraries.
You can schedule this command line instead.

You can also make windbg attach to any specific program when started. See gflags.exe. Only in GUI mode.

Also get the error number. TS keeps a history of runs and their errors. TS has a history tab.

I struggled on this issue for a few days but didn't get a right answer yet.
Here is the Problem Description:
I wrote a normal Java program (Program-A), and wrote a Windows-based native agent (*.dll, written in C/C++) with Agent_OnLoad, Agent_OnAttach, Agent_OnUnload method, which works fine if using Java command-line flag (-agentlib). Then I wrote another Java program to attach the native agent onto a runing the Java Program-A (see the below code piece for VM attach and loadAgentPath), however I got the exception:
com.sun.tools.attach.AgentLoadException: Failed to load agent library
I tried to change the agentPath (absolute or relative file path) this or that way, none of these works. Should I try some other way to make this work. What I need is to attach a native agent onto a runing java program rather than using command-line flag.
Does anyone know the root cause or a clue for the solution?
BTW, the command line to run attach VM Java code as:

Eventually I found the answer for my question, I had a wrong method name ('Agent_Attach') in Agent.cpp file, the correct one should be 'Agent_OnAttach', with this fix, my agent lib (.dll) can be loaded to a running Java program now.

In your case, I would check:
if the application has correct privileges assigned (along with appropriate certificate)
if ID of the application is not in conflict with some other application on device
if installation package does not contain problematic commands (e.g. copy commands to non-accessible directories)
Can you manually install the application on the phone? That is the first test you must perform before even attempting to use TRK.
Also, can your application start, at least to the point of showing a panic? TRK cannot help you if the applications cannot even load its DLL dependencies due to for example Platform Security capability mismatch. TRK needs a process to attach too in order to do its job ...
