has anyone made experience with a unspecified error during copy big (2-3GB) files to the local hyper-v machine? My machine has in any case enough memory and space. The error comes quite suddenly during the copy process. Where can I get specific error details? There is nothing in my Windows Event logger :-/
Best regards

Copying files larger than 2 GB over a Remote Desktop Services or a Terminal Services session through Clipboard Redirection (copy and paste) is not supported. Please check
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2258090

RDP transfers files through your clipboard. Copying something while the transfer is taking place (which is particularly easy in a large file transfer, because you probably want to do something else as it is happening, and copying things is a very common operation) fails the entire thing with an unspecified error.
If it's possible to you, consider using drive redirection, as it is much faster and resilient to this.

It happens for me when I try to copy some other text or file when a large file is being copied over Remote desktop services whereas in local machine, it allows parallel copy.

This helped for me:
Log into the Remote Desktop.
Browse to your computer over the network.
Copy file to the Remote Desktop.

I would like to make my AS400 to save entire system (go save, option 21) in a network location instead of a physical tap device. I have not iscsi devices connected.
I have already created a virtual tap (type 63B0) with a catalog file mounted, and I can save and restore from it.
I have tried to save the catalog file in a savf file and then to move that savf via ftp in a network location.
My question is: is it possible to make a go save --> 21 option indicating as device a savf instead of a tap?
Generally this question should go to Server Fault. That is the reason for the close votes. But, there are only a few questions there about IBM i and no one there on a regular basis answers these questions.
So... No, a save file can only contain a save of objects from a single library at a time. So you cannot do go save --> 21 to a save file.
But you do not need to put a virtual tape image in a save file to move it off the system. Think of a virtual tape image like an .iso image that you could burn to a CD. It isn't really an .iso image, but it is stored in the IFS as a single file. These images can be FTP'd as is to any other system and added to an image catalog on that system. Or they can be stored on a server somewhere as a backup and then transferred again to a new system to be used in a restore operation.
You can find documentation on how to move virtual tape images to a different system in the IBM Knowledge Center.

As I'm using a windows 7.We are configured public ip to access our apache server. After a Remote desktop connection via Anydesk Ended. All the Files in System are encrypted with .deep extension. Every Folder Contains Text files that has id and mrdeep#protonmail.com and bitcoin donate information and also system already has K7 AntiSecurity(Licensed but about to end). But after affected, K7 automatically vanished. Hence can anyone help me to recover those files and also guide me to escape from such viruses in future..
it looks that this is Scarab ransomware new version. Scarab has decryption tool developed by Dr. Web. You should try that, it may work for this .deep extension or just use anti-malware tools, clean everything. Then maybe Data Recovery Pro will help with data decryption. Keep your anti-virus and anti-malware up-to-date so you can avoid this nasty virus. These most commonly come from infected spam email attachments. so clean that box more often and scan your system more frequently. Good luck!

I just installed MarkLogic 8 and forgot user name I used. What can I do?
Since you just installed, if you haven't done anything that would bother you to lose, it might be simplest to blow it away and start again. Uninstall MarkLogic, then remove the data directory (rm -rf /var/opt/MarkLogic on Linux), then reinstall.
Again, this is only if you haven't started loading up data, setting up apps, etc. If you have, go with DALDEI's answer.
If you have physical and legal authority over the system, you can copy off the Forest directories (except security), re-install from scratch then re-attach the data. Most of the metadata will still be intact and as long as you have the new admin password you can patch up the parts that are not.
That is if you havent already customized a complex system - the hardest part to restore will be the objects in the Security database, those will be lost.
( users, permissions, roles etc) There is also the group and database configurations - those are not secured in the same ( they are stored in XML files on disk) so if you have system OS root access its likely possible to reconstruct most of the configuration data as well.
If this is a mission critical system I suggest contacting support, there are some methods for recovery of most of your data if done very carefully and if you have physical access and the data is otherwise unencrypted and accessable.

I am using scp to download millions of small files (100 - 1000 kb) files from my EC2 instances. scp seems to transfer one file at a time and does not utilize fully my 1 gbps connection.
Is there a more efficient way to download the files? For various technical reasons, achieving and downloading is not an option.
Take a look at rsync. It can also work through ssh.
If you are still able to use tar, but not able to create a tarball on the remote host, you can try something like:
ssh ec2instance "tar c /path/to/source" | tar x -C /path/to/destination
You can use the v option to tar, or the pipe viewer to get feedback on the transfer.
If the above is not an option either, try running several (a dozen) scp in parallel to reduce the effect of the overhead induced by many small files.
(Also make sure that the filesystem is not the bottleneck.)

Does Quickbooks support backups using Volume Shadow Copy? [closed]

Does Quickbooks support backups using Volume Shadow Copy?
The Volume Shadow Copy will copy/clone/backup the data files, but the QuickBooks application itself does not support the VSS/shadow copy service. Thus, any opened QuickBooks files will be marked in a "crash consistent" state, which means that I/O writes could have not completed and the file could be corrupted.
Your best bet for QuickBooks backups is to use the backup scheduler that's built into QuickBooks, or make sure that everyone closes out of QuickBooks at the end of the day, so you can do backups overnight.
there is no api for database dumping, there are third party extensions to provide odbc access but it export the tables but not the file itself
you can not automatically close quickbooks because it use to show dialog boxes regarding updates, if you are sure to close, telling you not to forget backup.. etc, plus any automation solution need to be on any user (believe me is easy for them to forget to close quickbooks)
to make it worst the internal backup can not be used if you don't shutdown everybody and run in single user mode and then you have to switch back to multi user mode
even intuit online backup does not work if the company file is open
just fight with everybody to close before they leave the office and setup any automatic backup system in place, I recommend Cobian Backup, syncplicity sugarsync and others, as far as you use them only to keep a clone of your quickbooks file not for simultaneous use
