Add timestamp watermark to PhantomJS images - phantomjs

How can I add watermarks on Phantomjs images?
Somewhat like this:
Can page.evaluate help me here?
Any injection or while rendering should not affect the actual look of the webpage. This stamp should only overlay.

The rendering is very high level in PhantomJS. The only way is to inject the watermark as an element (think position: absolute) into the DOM through page.evaluate and remove it after the screenshot.

Finally got it.
Created a new html element which is required, from DOM method and then injected this while rendering the HTML by page.evaluate.

Printing PDFs with Puppeteer/Playwright and Flexbox Layouts

If you open Chrome or Edge and visit a page with a flexbox layout, like this one, and choose Print/Save as PDF, the PDF includes the flex elements in the proper location. However, if you use Playwright and the Page object's pdf() method, flex elements are missing.
I'm fairly certain this isn't a bug with Playwright, or Puppeteer, but instead is an issue with how the headless chromium creates the pdf. Or, hopefully, it's some kind of option I'm missing somewhere. Does anyone have experience creating PDFs of pages with flexbox layouts using Playwright?
I had a similar issue where the height of the elements inside my flexbox was completely wrong in Puppeteer.
I was able to solve it by using display: inline-flex instead of display: flex

Unable to switch to iframe in Selenium chromedriver when iframe is directly under body tag [duplicate]

For the portal I am testing now, I came with the problem that I could not create any xpath locators, after some time I figured out that it was because of an '#document', this cuts the path and makes the simple "copy xpath" to direct the path to a completely different element.
<iframe id="FRAMENAME" src="/webclient/workspace/launch-task/REMbl?ds=BP" width="100%" height="100%" frameborder="0" data-navitemname="navitemname" style="" xpath="1">
#document
<html>
CODE....
</html>
I found the solution for this is it is simply add a switchTo like this:
driver.switchTo().frame("FRAMENAME");
This works and makes the rest of the code to work properly but, takes some extra time processing this command till the code moves to the next line.
So I would like to ask, is there is a better solution for this? something smarter/faster?
I am concerned that when the point where I have lots of scripts comes, the execution time will take too long.
I don't use id locators for example because they are all dynamic so sometimes a xpath is required.
Thank you!
To work with elements inside iframe you must switch to this specific iframe.
Your solution .switchTo().frame("FRAMENAME"); is correct. Selenium does not have any other ways to work with iframe wrappers.
inline frames
As per the documentation in Using inline frames, an inline frame is a construct which embeds a document into an HTML document so that embedded data is displayed inside a subwindow of the browser's window. This does not mean full inclusion and the two documents are independent, and both them are treated as complete documents, instead of treating one as part of the other.
iframe structure and details
Generally, an iframe element is in the form of:
<iframe src="URL" more attributes>
alternative content for browsers which do not
support iframe
</iframe>
Browsers which support iframe display the document referred to by the URL in a subwindow, typically with vertical and/or horizontal scroll bars. Such browsers ignore the content of the iframe element (i.e. everything between the start tag <iframe...> and the end tag </iframe>). Browsers which do not support iframe (or have such support disabled) does the opposite, i.e. process the content as if the <iframe...> and </iframe> tags were not there. Thus, the content matters, despite being ignored by some browsers.
So to summarize, inline frames do not mean an include feature, although it might sometimes serve similar purposes.
Note that, when inline frames are used, the browser (if it supports them) sends a request to the server referred to by the URL in the iframe element, and after getting the requested document displays it inside an inline frame. In this sense inline frames are a joint browser-server issue, but only the browser needs to be specifically iframe-aware; from the server's point of view, there's just a normal HTTP request for a document, and it sends the document without having (or needing) any idea on what the browser is going to do with it.
Something Smarter
As per the best practices while switching to an iframe you need to induce WebDriverWait as follows:
Switch through Frame Name (Java Sample Code):
new WebDriverWait(driver, 20).until(ExpectedConditions.frameToBeAvailableAndSwitchToIt(By.name("frame_name")));
Switch through iframe XPath (Python Sample Code):
WebDriverWait(driver, 10).until(EC.frame_to_be_available_and_switch_to_it((By.XPATH,"//iframe[#id='ptifrmtgtframe' and #name='TargetContent']")))
Switch through iframe CssSelector (C# Sample Code):
new WebDriverWait(driver, TimeSpan.FromSeconds(20)).Until(ExpectedConditions.FrameToBeAvailableAndSwitchToIt(By.CssSelector("iframe#twitter-widget-0")));

SVG with images with dataURL href not rendered correctly in some engine

This SVG originated from HTML5 canvas. Which looks fine and I added images that are represented in dataurl form to avoid CORS issues.
However, when opened in chrome the image showed up fine
When opened in Adobe Illustrator, the image did not show up.
When opened with macOS preview app, the image did not show up.
I looked up SVG2 specifications for using dataURL in svg's <image> tag href attribute and they said its okay to use. So I don't understand what is causing this rendering discrepancy between different viewers.
File for reference
In short, what is the standard way to embed images into SVG.
Okay I found out it is because only Chrome supports the newer SVG2 standard href attribute on <image> element of SVG. So I just needed to replace the href with xlink:href
Even though xlink:href attribute is deprecated in SVG2. It seems the other softwares aforementioned in the question are not SVG2-compliant.

Can I show a PDF inside a DIV with a zoom function?

I have a large PDF and I need to show it 50% reduced in size inside a div tag that is 600px 600px in size. I also need to offer the client a zoom function.
Should I use the "object" tag? But can I reduce the pdf size inside an "object"?
Is there a jquery example or anything out there?
Need help.
<div>
<object data="febrero2012.pdf" type="application/pdf" width="600px" height="600px">
alt : febrero2012.pdf
</object>
</div >
I coudn't find the way to set a default zoom level yet. If you find a way, please let me know.
No. PDFs cannot be displayed in a DIV, as they're not html or an image. You can convert the PDF to html/images on the server and display that, just like google's "quick view" function does. But in general, PDF rendering in-browser is dependent on the presence of a plugin (e.g. Adobe Reader, Chrome's built-in rendering engine notwithstanding). Plugins can't be displayed in divs, just embed/object/iframe sections.

Selenium - How to match image presence and location on page

My query is that - I have my images on webpage- a logo or say navigation bar i can store as an image. Can i test using selenium presence of these images on a webpage when loaded along with the position of the image on page.
What my issue is that i need to actually look at image objects in HTML and also may be images not in HTML but they are partial screenshots of webpage which i want to match. This test will help me pick alignment issues - in case my navigation bar is now going to second row i can match with previous stored image to check.
Thanks
VB
An example on how to check if a particular image is present:
In this page:http://www.google.ie/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official
Selenese command
Command: verifyElementPresent
Target: //td/table/tbody/tr/td/table/tbody/tr/td/img[#src='/images/firefox/Fx4Launch.png']
Hint: If you want help to get the XPath for a particular element I recommend you using a plugin like Firebug (http://getfirebug.com/)
Put an extra "\" in the beginning of the xpath copied by Firebug, otherwise selenium do not find the element.
You can verify that an image is at a location like so:
verifyElementPresent //div/p/img
This example uses XPath to locate an <img> element that follows a <div> and <p> tag.
But verifying that a screenshot is the same as the rendered page? You're talking about a completely different problem, which is image recognition. Selenium is a tool for automated acceptance testing.
