Anyone knows how to manage the list of scripts in Menu>File? I have a lot of scripts in the list, so I'd like to clean-up it.

We have a program that processes PDF documents - Automated. We fail with certain PDFs because they are malformed . When we open the PDFs in acrobat, it opens it. I see that Acrobat goes to extra measures to fix the malformed PDFs. So in our case, someone manually has to open and save them to make them clean. Is there a way I can programmatically do this in Python or Powershell? Has anyone done this?

You can run a macro from powershell. You can also set up a scheduled task to run your powershell script in task scheduler at pretty much any interval you like (TASKSCHD.MSC) This particular example has a msgbox for the path to folder but it loops through all pdf files in a folder, flattens and saves. Perhaps flattening might not be required but might help with a malformed PDF.
** This relies on Acrobat and uses the javascript API through the excel ... I'm not sure if libreoffice draw has has a javascript api like acrobat. I'm not aware of any open source alternatives that have that sort of functionality. If anyone is please let me know.

My boss and I are on GitLab and we have problems trying to differentiate between dynamic PDF files.
Normally, for code files like C# class .cs files, it's easy to double-click and have GitLab highlight the changes made between two different versions.
However, we also create dynamic XFA/PDF files in Adobe LiveCycle and it's difficult to tell what has been changed at times, especially if the commit messages are not too specific or too vague. We know people suggested taking screenshots of the PDF between each version, but you can't diff text changes or format changes on image files.
We tried the program DiffPDF found here:

But we found out that it does not work with XFA/dynamic forms.
Does anyone have any suggestions on any possible programs that can diff the actual content on PDFs in GitLab?

I will agree that it is hard to see what have been changed on a PDF, but if you instead look at the XDP-file you will be able to see what code have been changed.

I have found a plugin (EELSTools.gtk from http://www.dmscripting.com) which I want to modify.
The plugin contains nearly every function I need, but I want also to integrate some extra functions.

You can't and shouldn't.
*.gtk files are packages files with the purpose of encapsulation. This might either be because of convenience, but it might as well be, because the author does not want to make the code open-source. (Note that there are some proprietory plugins as well, they are also .gtk files.)
If you have found a plugin and want to expand on it, the best way forward is to contact the plugin-author.
The *.gtk files get loaded before *.s files. If you install your own script from DM Menu Install Script File or Install Script, you can add it to the menu that the *.gtk file has, e.g. EELSTools. It is added at the end of the list. For example, I put a measure ZLP width script in EELSTools.
I have some Cucumber scenarios, for which I created the following files:
create_extended_search.feature
activate_extended_search.feature
edit_extended_search.feature
delete_extended_search.feature
Within these files, I have several scenarios.
Three of the files use the same background, and it would be nice to be able to place it into one file (e.g. support/backgrounds.rb) and then reference it from the feature files.

I believe you would have to create a step that is made up of the steps in your current background. Then call that step in the background for each feature.
There's no notion of 'include'ing feature files in Cucumber. As Justin points out, you can create a single step representing what you want as a background, and call that where appropriate. An alternative is to use a Before hook to perform certain tasks in advance of scenarios that you mark with a specific tag.
Personally, I'd treat this problem as something of a red flag, and start asking if my feature files were split up in the best way possible. Frequently if I find myself bemoaning the inability to include other feature files, or conversely, wishing I could exclude certain scenarios from running my background, it's a very strong sign that my feature files are too finely sliced up, or I'm trying to cram unrelated functionality together and need to split it up further.
My app currently reads a script containing instructions on what the app should do next. Think of it this way ---> My app is like an orchestra, and when it is passed sheet music (the script), it knows what to do. The sheet defines what different parts of the orchestra do at different times.
Currently, writing the script by hand is tedious. I want to be able to define chunks, which I can drag and drop from my gui to the script. I was wondering if there already is tools which let you do something like this, or if I should write my own tool.
Basically, when I click on something in the gui, it should insert a template into my plist, which I can tweak.
EDIT: It looks like the ability to create "Property list Structure Definitions" is what I am after. I have tried searching the apple site, but I can't find any documentation.
Two things come to mind:
You don't mention what format the input is in, nor what you want the GUI tool to do beyond letting you "drag chunks". But if you can define your format into an XML schema, then you can use any number of XML authoring tools that customize their interface based on schema. Also gives you the ability to make it easy to let the UI enter parameters/customization, which your script language likely has. Final bonus: you might be able to convert script directly into a plist with a simple XSLT file.
