I have installed all third party setups required for "Multi Device Hybrid Apps" successfully. But when i go to run my app using Visual Studio 2013 it gives me following two errors :
Error 1: cmd: Command failed with exit code 255
Error 2: The command ""C:\Users\PC-Name\AppData\Roaming\npm\node_modules\vs-mda\vs-cli"
prepare --platform Android --configuration Debug --projectDir . --projectName "Test2"
--language "en-US"" exited with code 8.
I have checked all Environment Variables which are at there right variables.
Kindly tell me how to get rid off from above errors.....
Exit code 8 often indicates that at least one of the environment variables that Cordova requires for build has not been added to your path.
There are three environment variables that must be defined:
1) %JAVA_HOME% -- C:\Program Files(x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0_55
2) %ADT_HOME% -- C:\Users\YOUR_NAME_GOES_HERE\AppData\Local\Android\android-sdk
3) %ANT_HOME% -- C:\apache-ant-1.9.3
Note -- The paths for these tools may be different on your PC. You need to verify the actual install paths for each.
Once you have defined these variables, copy the entry below into your System path variable. Reboot PC after making these changes.
%JAVA_HOME%\bin;%ADT_HOME%\tools;%ADT_HOME%\platform-tools;%ANT_HOME%\bin;
A similar question was covered in an earlier post.
I figured out the real cause, just update your node.js or either remove spaces from project directory path.
For Example :
Before Project Directory Path : C:/Users/Jon Snow/MyProjects/ProjectName
After Project Directory Path : C:/Users/JonSnow/MyProjects/ProjectName

While building the Windows environment for OsQuery (on my Windows 10 VM) from their website(link: https://osquery.readthedocs.io/en/stable/development/windows-provisioning/), I am getting the msb1009 error during the phase where I have to run the tools\make-win64-binaries.bat command. I get the following result after running that command:

I have been trying to make the osquery.sln file using that command and have looked online for solutions but without any success. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Edit: Here is the output of running tools\make-win64-dev-env.bat and tools\make-win64-binaries.bat
tools\make-win64-dev-env.bat
tools\make-win64-dev-env.bat (contd..)
tools\make-win64-binaries.bat
Could you paste the full output of running the tools\make-win64-dev-env.bat and tools\make-win64-binaries.bat? Also have you tried closing out your shell and re-opening, or even worse -- reboot the system?
I ask because, as you note, it seems like the solution file never gets generated, which usually means there was either a missing dependency during provision, or some other issue when the script first ran. On first provision it's typically the case that a system reboot is needed, as Visual Studio community typically requires one. Further, we set a few shell environment variables that are leveraged during the build process, however those are supposed to be set at the end of the provisioning script.
Also feel free to hit us up in our Slack and check out the #windows channel :)
After a lot of code reading, researching online and trial and error, I found out that after a clean OS install, one would need to install git and then immediately clone the osquery repository on the user desktop rather than System32. This worked fine, at least for me. Just make sure to switch directories when opening command line with administrator mode.
I have a TFS 2013 build that I'm trying to get to publish to a folder on the build server. I've installed WebDeploy, but I always get the error:
C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v12.0\Web\Microsoft.Web.Publishing.targets (4274): Web deployment task failed. (Could not connect to the remote computer ("localhost"). On the remote computer, make sure that Web Deploy is installed and that the required process ("Web Management Service") is started. Learn more at: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=221672#ERROR_DESTINATION_NOT_REACHABLE.)
I've set up a website on the build server and that's where I'm trying to publish the website. Actually I don't even care about publishing it per se - I just need my build output to go to a folder locally automatically. Right now we have to manually open the solution and choose Publish... to get the output that subsequent InstallShield builds need for input. Here are my MSBuild arguments. Does anyone have any idea what could be missing?
/p:SrcDir=C:\Builds\TFS\WebApps\Src
/p:RevKeyname=WebAppsRevNr
/p:DeployOnBuild=true
/p:DeployTarget=MsDeployPublish
/p:MSDeployServiceURL=https://127.0.0.1:8172/msdeploy.axd

/p:DeployIisAppPath="WebApp"
/p:MsDeployPublishMethod=WMSVC
/p:AllowUntrustedCertificate=True
/p:AutoParameterizationWebConfigConnectionStrings=False
/p:Authtype=NTLM /p:username=""
I've checked both net start wmsvc and net start msdepsvc and both are running. Any ideas?
Thanks!
UPDATE
I've tried everything that Andy suggested and now when I run this from the command line I get this bizarre error message:

Any idea why it's looking for Web.config;Areas\Admin\Views\Web.config'.? That makes no sense.
Please try below items to narrow down the issue:
Try to use IP or Machine Name instead of "localhost"
Logon your build agent machine, then manually execute the same
MSBuild command within the same arguments(which you provided in build
definition) to build and deploy your solution, then check result. You
need to ensure you can manually run the same MSBuild command within
deploy argument to build and deploy your solution successfully from
build agent machine. Then use the same deploy arguments in TFS Build
definition.
Double check Web Deploy settings to make sure that the name of the
website is exactly that of what's in IIS.
Install Web Management Tools before Web
Deploy : Install the Web Management Services (Roles -> Web Server >
Management Tools > Management Services). Then uninstall Web Deploy, and then install Web Deploy again.

By default TFS Build creates a "Index Sources & Publish Symbols" step in a Visual Studio Build definition. When the step's property "Path to publish symbols" is empty, everything works fine. But when setting the path to a local directory, the step generates the following error:

2015-09-25T11:00:10.7504779Z End: AssociateArtifact
The pdb files are published to the specified directory, so i don't really understand what is causing the error (which then causes the whole build job to fail).
When the step's property "Path to publish symbols" is empty, everything works fine.
Yes, because if symbols path is not set, the script only index sources, not publishing symbols.
But when setting the path to a local directory, the step generates the error
You need prepare your symbol store. In your case setup folder sharing and permissions.
In my case changing the "Path to publish symbols" from
//myserver/symbols
to
\\myserver\symbols
solved the issue. Don't know why this happend to me but ok... :)
I was using msbuild build my sln and get error message "couldn't find 'AxImp.exe' which already exists under %Program files (x86)%\Microsoft sdks\windows\v8.1A. but seems it find sdk from v8.0A, output info point out the error was in Microsoft.Common.targets file(code see below). Depends on the version and platform you're targeting, but latest is at C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\12.0\Bin\Microsoft.NetFramework.CurrentVersion.props, follow your imports, i.e. <Import Project=".targets" />. To get the values run MSBuild with /v:diag and all evaluated properties will be dumped and the start.
what ended up working for me was installing:
Windows Software Development kit (SDK) for windows 8
even though I'm on widows server 2016
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/windows-8-sdk
I guess the clue was in my error:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Microsoft.Common.targets(2428, 5): error MSB3086: Task could not find "LC.exe" using the SdkToolsPath "" or the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v8.0A\WinSDK-NetFx40Tools-x86". Make sure the SdkToolsPath is set and the tool exists in the correct processor specific location under the SdkToolsPath and that the Microsoft Windows SDK is installed
Here is the related error its showing:
java.exe is not a recognized file as an internal or external command,
operable or external command
errorlevel=9009
i was getting the same error on WIndows 8.1(64 bit) and checked java path but it was ok
so i just run my jmeter.bat with Run as Administrator and it worked for me
Many operating systems have an environment variable such as PATH that contains a list of directories (or folders) to be searched when looking for a command to execute. Commands that can be found via the PATH are commonly called external commands. The program that reads the command line or the batch file and invoked the commands may have a number of built in commands, these are commonly called internal commands.
I suggest you examine the PATH (or equivalent) set when your java command executes from the command line and also when execution is attempted from the batch file. Compare the two and make sure the directory containing your java.exe is in the PATH.
Does not work with Java 9 beta:
Running:
C:\java -version
Gives:
java version "9-ea"
Just go into command line and run:
java -jar ApacheJMeter.jar
Set the correct Java Path (installed in your system) in Computer -> Advanced System settings -> Environment Variables -> Ok -> System Variables -> Path
I got the same issue and resolved by following the above steps.
I tried everything, this eventually worked.
Within System Variables:
PATH = "C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_101\bin"
May help someone.
This error occurs due to the path has not been set properly.
Either you can set it in environmental varialables or right click jmeter .bat file, choose edit set the path their, for reference see the jmeter.apache.org user manuals.
For me, my Java path has a space in it and jmeter said it can't find Java
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home
.. I looked at the jmeter.sh script and saw it got the path from "Plugin-Ins" .. onward. I tried just commenting out the exit command after that check in the script .. and then I was able to run jmeter.
So apparently the validation logic has a bug, where the error message about can't find java is in fact not true (if Java is indeed set up correctly), so it can be ignored.
For windows 8.1 Users:
Error when trying to run jmeter.bat
Error message:
Not able to find Java executable or version. Please check your Java installation. errorlevel=2
Press any Key to continue
Resolution:
Right Click jmeter.bat and Run as Administrator.
This worked for me, hope this helps. Good luck
Set the correct JM_LAUNCH variable to java.exe
For Windows XP users set Java environment by following the steps here:
http://www.tutorialspoint.com/jmeter/jmeter_environment.htm
Note the path depends on your installed JDK.
And download the file from:
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/jmeter/trunk/bin/jmeter.bat
Then replace your jmeter.bat with the downloaded file.
If you have installed Java and still you get this error, please set the java_home path to below using typing below command in terminal:
export JAVA_HOME="/Library/InternetPlugIns/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home"
Since I run many versions of Java.. I modified jmeter.bat.
rem JM_START - set this to "start" to launch JMeter in a separate window
rem this is used by the jmeterw.cmd script.
rem
rem =====================================================
setlocal
rem Minimal version to run JMeter
set MINIMAL_VERSION=1.8.0
set PATH=%PATH%;C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Java80\jre\bin <<< add This line to jmeter.bat
Copied the JAVA executable from Installed version of Java from C:\Program FilesJava\jdk1.8.0_191\bin and pasted in the folder where the jmeter bat resides and it worked for me.
Not exactly the same issue but somebody might find it helpful
Do not double click jmeter.bat but instead ApacheJMeter.jar in the same directory
For me jmeter.bat run but for a brief moment closing almost immediately and not prompting any error. Above workaround allowed me to start working
if JAVA -version shows as blank or empty in the command prompt (CMD) then you need to clear the all java paths in environment variable and again add JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-11.0.15.1
path= C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-11.0.15.1\bin;
if you see C:\Program Files\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath; like this remove this
and try in new CMD prompt then Java -version will work.
