Generate thumbnail image from PDF file that is located in SharePoint Server? - pdf

I have a PDF file on the sharepoint server, I wanted to access that PDF file and generate a thumbnail image on the fly. Is any of the Javascript frameworks supports this feature to implement..
Can anyone help me out to convert the PDF file into an thumbnail image?

There is a couple of products can view PDF files online and generate a thumbnail image, but I recommended this tool document viewer that can preview some types of files by thumbnail, also view this PDF file online.http://www.boostsolutions.com/sharepoint-document-viewer.html

Convert pdf document to jpeg using LEADTOOLS and PDF-TOOLS

We have pdf documents (source: camera or scanner) that we want to convert to jpeg.
We use LEADTOOLS and PDF-TOOLS(in two separate programs) to convert these pdf files to jpeg files.
Both these tools use the default DPI of 150 irrespective of the DPI of the source pdf file.
We would rather like this value to be taken from the source pdf file.
For example: Adobe Acrobat software recognizes the source pdf file DPI and uses the same to create the jpeg file.
Is there some way we could achieve the same using the LEADTOOLS and PDF-TOOLS by determining the DPI of the source pdf file?
This feature was added to v19 of LEADTOOLS a few months ago. You can now extract images from PDF pages while preserving their original pixel dimensions using the following members of the Leadtools.Pdf.PDFDocument class:
ParseDocumentStructure method.
Images property.
DecodeImage method.
Furthermore, if the image is stretched inside the PDF page, you can detect that by examining its display size in the PDF page using the Leadtools.Pdf.PDFObject.Bounds property.
There's a dedicated demo for the PDFDocument class and related objects installed with LEADTOOLS 19 in these folders:
Examples\DotNet\CS\PDFDocumentDemo

How to clip and concatenate a page region in multiple pdf files with one page each?

I have a lot of pdf files each one with an image inside. I want to clip a rectangular region in each of these files and concatenate them into a single pdf file. Is it possible with ghostscript or similar?
I'll have a go at this. Try Briss if you want to crop rectangular regions in pdf files. It's free and cross-platform GUI.
If you have multiple pdf files you can concatenate/merge them first online using http://www.pdfmerge.com/ Then use Briss to crop the images out into a new pdf file. Or vice-versa depending on the location of your images inside the pdf files.
After you fire up Briss, load the merged pdf file containing the images. When you're asked if you want to exlude anything, just click "cancel" if you want to include all pages.
If your file has many pages, similar pages may be overlapping each other so you can draw a rectangle over the region you want to crop. Click Action -> Preview for previewing the output. Click Action -> Crop PDF to finalize your output pdf file. Cheers.

Reformat image format in PDF

I got issues in rendering a couple of images and texts in PDF in Telerik PDF viewer - according to Telerik's documentation it seems those texts/images formats are incompatible.
Are there ways to convert existing images in a PDF and replace it back to the PDF so to make the file compatible to the Telerik PDF viewer?
Many thanks

Japanese symbols are not shown in raster image in WinRT

I have a small trouble with Japanese symbols when I save rasterized PDF document into PNG. I tried to convert PDF file into the PNG with help of pitron.PDF.Rasterizer in my Windows Store application. Another files with embedded fonts are converted without problems, but this file does not contain embedded fonts and looks horrible.
Thanks, any help will be appreciated.
Please check that Аpitron.Core.Winrt.winmd is placed at the same folder as Аpitron.PDF.Rasterizer.dll.
Your PDF file requires external fonts and they could not be loaded at runtime without the types declared in metadata.

Get thumbnail image of PDF using ASP.NET?

I have a system where users can upload PDF documents. Rather than displaying the link to these PDFs as a title link, or a PDF icon link, I would like it to be a thumbnail of the first page of the PDF document.
How can I get a thumbnail image of the first (or any specified) page of a PDF document, using ASP.NET 3.5?
Here is a free component to display PDF thumbnails in asp.net: http://www.tallcomponents.com/pdfthumbnail-versions.aspx
GhostScript is another option.
There are no built in PDF capabilities in the BCL.
You will need to use a PDF library that allows you to output images. Use it to render the first page as a thumbnail.
Here is one article on code project to do this (using acrobat and COM interop), here a thread on MSDN forums .
