In my repo's subdirectory, I have some scripts with package main to show some example usage fo my package. But this gives me the following errors when being tested on Travis.
repo
example-dir
sub-dir
main.go // this gives me error like the following
github.com/~/directory-for-main-program
The command "go get -v ./..." failed. Retrying, 2 of 3.
I see this error only in Travis , not in local machine with go test.
Is there anyway to separate the main program and still able to pass the Travis testing?
Either use the correct path in your main.go, which is the proper way or use build constraints to disable that file:
// +build local
package main
//other code
then to locally build it use go build -tags local or go run -tags local

I'm trying to run some TestCafe tests from our build server, but getting the following error...
"Could not find test files at the following location: "C:\Testing\TestCafe".
Check patterns for errors:
tests/my-test.ts
or launch TestCafe from a different directory."
I did have them running or able to be found on this machine previously, but others have taken over the test coding and changed the structure a bit when moving it to a Git repository. Now when I grab the tests from Git and try to run, the problem presents itself. I'm not sure if there is something in a config file that needs adjustment but don't know where to start looking.
The intention is to have it part of our CI process, but the problem is also seen when I attempt to run the tests from the command line. The build process does install TestCafe, but there is something strange around this as well.
When the build failes with the can't find tests error, if I try to run the following command in the proper location...
tescafe chrome tests/my-test.ts
... I get, 'testcafe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Just can't understand why I can't get these tests running. TestCafe setup was pretty much easy previously.
ADDENDUM: I've added a screenshot of the working directory where I cd to and run the testcafe command as well as the tests subdirectory containing the test I'm trying to run.
Any help is appreciated!!
testcafe chrome tests/my-test.ts is just a template; it isn't a real path to your tests. This error means that the path that you set in CLI is wrong, and there aren't any tests. You need to:
Find out where you start CLI. Please attach a screenshot to your question.
Define an absolute path to tests or a path relative to the place where CLI was started. Please share a screenshot of your project tree where the directory with tests is open.
Also, you missed t in the tescafe chrome tests/my-test.ts command. It should be tesTcafe chrome tests/my-test.ts. That is why you get the "'tescafe' is not recognized as an internal or external command" error.
I was able to get things working by starting from scratch. I uninstalled TestCafe and cleaned the working folder. During next build it was fine. I'm sure I've tried this several times, but it just started working.
One positive that came out of it was that I discovered a typo in a test file name, which was also causing issues finding the test I was using to check testing setup.
Thanks for helping!!
I have two scripts in my test. A_script.jmx with the main test plan and the test fragment B_script.jmx with the module.
To include B-script into A_script.jmx I use the Include Controller with a path to the B_script.jmx
All works fine when I work in GUI locally but when I try to run it in Jenkins in non-GUI I receive an error:
Error in NonGUIDriver org.apache.jorphan.util.JMeterStopTestException:
ModuleController:Notification has no selected Controller (did you
rename some element in the path to target controller?), test was
shutdown as a consequence
As I suppose the Include Controller in the A_script.jmx cannot find my B_script.jmx file here.
Should I use some special path format in my Include Controller FileName? Both scripts are kept in one directory. I tried "B_script.jmx", "../B_script.jmx" etc
Any ideas where I'm wrong?
I am trying to use the Publish Over SSH plugin to publish many kinds of build artifact to an external server. Examples of build artifacts are compiled builds, XML output from testing, and JSON output from linting.
If testing or linting results in errors, the build will fail or be marked unstable. In the case of a failed build, the Publish Over SSH plugin will not copy the build artifacts, writing to the console:
SSH: Current build result is [FAILURE], not going to run.
I see no reason why I wouldn't want to publish this information if it exists, and I would like to continue to report errors as build failures. So, is there any way to force Jenkins to publish build artifacts even if the job is marked as a failure?
I thought I could use the Flexible Publish to force this, by wrapping the Publish Over SSH in an "always" condition, but this gave the same output as before on a build failure.
I can think of a couple of work-arounds:
a) store the build status in an environment variable; force the status to SUCCESS; perform the publish step; recover the build status from the environment variable using java jenkins-cli.jar set-build-status $STORED_STATUS
OR
b) Write a bash script to perform the publishing step manually using SSH, cutting out the Publish Over SSH plugin altogether
Before I push forward with either of these solutions (neither of which I like), is there any piece of configuration that I'm missing?
The solution I ended up using was to use rsync/ssh to copy the files manually using a post build script. I configured this in my Jenkins Job Builder YAML like so:
- publisher:
name: publish-to-archive
publishers:
- post-tasks:
- matches:
- log-text: ".*"
script: |
ssh -i ${{HOME}}/.ssh/id_rsa jenkins#archiver "mkdir -p {archive_path}"
rsync -Pravdtze "ssh -i ${{HOME}}/.ssh/id_rsa" {source_path} jenkins#archiver:{archive_path}
Quoting old hooky on jenkinsci-users:
How can I force Publish Over SSH to work even if the build has been marked
a failure?
Use "Send files or execute commands over SSH after the build runs" in
configuration section "Build environment"
Job configuration / Build Environment / Send files or execute commands over SSH after the build runs
instead of using a post-build or build-step.
How do I explicitly say with my go test command to run only tests for the main package and not others in my source directory.
At the moment it's working with $go test -v. But... I am using goconvey as well and it seems to be running recursively. According to this page https://github.com/smartystreets/goconvey/wiki/Profiles I have a file where I can pass arguments into the go test command. I know you can go test -v ./... for recursive or go test -c packagename/... but how do I just do it for the main?
Profiles is one to accomplish this, but you can also specify a 'depth' for the runner:
$ goconvey -depth=0
A value of 0 limits the runner to the working directory.
Run goconvey -help for details.
Trying to set up Jenkins on one of my servers for the first time and think I might be missing something.
Jenkins 1.545
Phing 2.6.1
Jenkins builds give me the following output.
Building in workspace /var/www/vhosts/domain.co.uk/httpdocs
looking for '/var/www/vhosts/domain.co.uk/httpdocs/build.xml' ...
looking for '/var/www/vhosts/domain.co.uk/httpdocs/build.xml' ...
looking for 'build.xml' ...
buildfile 'build.xml' not found.
Build step 'Invoke Phing targets' marked build as failure
Finished: FAILURE
If I run my build.xml on it's own it works fine.
I'm using a custom workspace at the moment, before I tried a symlink from the default workspace to my webroot, when I did that it found the build file but failed when trying to run phing. I know it's a problem with permissions but I'm not sure exactly what.
I'm running this on a plesk web server and have tried adding the jenkins user to the psacln and psaserv groups but that didn't work either.
I use hudson but I think is the same problem.
Provide to ant job the full path (advanced settings)
${WORKSPACE}/buil.xml
Assuming the correct set of jenkins user
RUN_AS_USER=jenkins
Go to the custom workspace and
chown -R jenkins:jenkins myworkspace
if it doesn't work
chmod -R 777 myworkspace
then you will fix later.
I hope it helps.
