I installed some days ago Pentaho BA (full install) on a Red Hat system. I installed version 5.0.7.1-x64 because the latest 5.1 version gave me problems just after the installation. The 5.0.7.1 version still have some problems (exceptions in logs) but it was working fine, until today. Today I logged in into the PUC and I found that there are some severe issues in the functionalities of the server: after logging in I get only the upper menu and not the content of the home page. I can access and see the "Browse Files" menu, but when I select a dashboard or a report it doesn't load: it just loads the upper bar like for the home page and the title but the dashboard is completely empty. Not even the "grid" for the various reports.
I copied the content of the log file catalina.out and you can find it here http://pastebin.com/hshXekFM
From line 33 there's the part where the server loads the login pageFrom line 51 it's after the login.
Here you can find the content of the catalina.2014-07-09.log http://pastebin.com/L7ReLdpt
and here the pentaho.log file:

How can I solve this?
Thank you very much in advance
Just edit the file sessionStartupActions.xml and comment out the lines that are calling those .xaction files.
That happens when it tries to call the actions for the sample data that you probably didn't install.
This is very likely to be Quartz configuration issue.
I would suggest to re-check quartz configuration files - have they been modified by patch or manually since last job/transformation was successfully scheduled?
This may be a start point.
If this is not a solution don't hesistate to fire a bug - at least developers could provide more sophistaicated error message for this case.
For enterprise users pentaho provides official support - so don't waste time for forums and kick they directly.
Otherwise - quartz is widely used so at least there is some configurations where it is really works without this exception - so the question is to find what is the difference between this one and other.
Hope it will help a little bit. :(

I am having some trouble running a simple tHiveCreateTable job in Talend OS for Big Data (Print of the job where I am getting this error).
The Hive connection is fine and the job worked until Ranger was activated in the cluster.
After ranger, I started getting the following log:
[statistics] connecting to socket on port 3345
[statistics] connected
Error while processing statement: Cannot modify mapred.job.name at runtime. It is not in list of params that are allowed to be modified at runtime
[statistics] disconnected
This error occurs either using Tez or MapReduce for the job, throwing an exception in the following line of the automatically generated code:
// For MapReduce Mode
stmt_tHiveCreateTable_1.execute("set mapred.job.name=" + queryIdentifier);
Do you know any solution or workarround for this?
Thanks in advance
It is possible to disable changing mapreduce.job.name and hive.query.name at runtime by Talend7 jobs.
Edit the file
{talend_install_dir}/plugins/org.talend.designer.components.localprovider_7.1.1.20181026_1147/components/templates/Hive/SetQueryName.javajet
and comment out lines 6 and 11 like that:
// stmt_<%=cid %>.execute("set mapred.job.name=" + queryIdentifier_<%=cid %>);
// stmt_<%=cid %>.execute("set hive.query.name=" + queryIdentifier_<%=cid %>);
It solved this issue for me.
I am using Manifoldcf v2.7.1 and Solr v5.2.1 and trying to crawl Jira using the Jira connector and am getting the following error in Manifoldcf:
Error: Repeated service interruptions - failure processing document:
Error from server at (servername:port/solr/jira): String index out of range: -11
Note: I removed my server and port info from the error message
One of the error logs from Solr is showing the following at the top of the stacktrace:
java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -11
at org.apache.solr.request.macro.MacroExpander._expand(MacroExpander.java:144)
Don't know what is causing this area and how to fix it. Thanks in advance!
Turns out that there was a Jira issue with Java written in the comments section. I think that it wasn't being exited out properly by Manifold. To avoid this, I excluded this one issue that was causing issues from future crawls.
All of the sudden, a CSV file that is imported into a db/table every morning is failing every time within the last few weeks. I do not support this process directly, so I don't know much about SSIS, but would greatly appreciate some help as I need this working and whoever supports this process has no idea what the issue is. I'm not sure if that error regarding the row has anything to do with the data in the row because it looks fine to me. The CSV includes Active Directory information for every computer in AD and is exported from PowerShell to a server where the CSV is imported into a table via SSIS. The process is entirely automated and nothing has changed.
[Source - Clean_Gold CSV [1]] Error: The column delimiter for column "LastLogontimestamp" was not found.
[Source - Clean_Gold CSV [1]] Error: An error occurred while processing file "H:\Computers\clean_gold.csv" on data row 40377.

The component returned a failure code when the pipeline engine called PrimeOutput(). There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the failure.
I looked at 40,378 and saw someone put a ", in the description of the computer object in Active Directory. That caused an issue with the delimiting.
2 months ago I added custom tracking events with whitespaces in my app, such as:
[PFAnalytics trackEvent:#"Share Button Click" dimensions:dimensions];
However, it seems like Parse is no longer allowing whitespaces, which in turn has caused my code to stop registering analytics. Does anyone know a fix around this?
Here's the error:
Error: invalid event name: cannot contain whitespace (Code: 160, Version: 1.4.2)
2014-11-01 runEventually command failed. Error:Error Domain=Parse Code=160 "The operation couldn’t be completed. (Parse error 160.)" {code=160, error=invalid event name: cannot contain whitespace}
I'm curious as to why Parse has done this change and if there's anything we can do so that I'm not forced to create a new event.
I have an SSIS package that is scheduled to run every weekday morning at 8:15. It copies data to and from Active Directory and SQL. About two weeks ago, it started failing, with no changes having been made to the server (beyond MS updates).
The funny thing is that if I then immediately run the package again, it succeeds. Here is the error text from when it fails:

Any thoughts?
Has some new Group Policy been applied that changed the permissions for the account your automated run uses, but which doesn't apply to your user id? I'm assuming when you say "I then ... run the package", you mean your logged-in user id.
Based on the error message that you had provided, the issue seems to be that the task within your package is trying to query an object in Active Directory that might no longer exist.
System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement.PrincipalOperationException:
There is no such object on the server. --->
System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x80072030):
There is no such object on the server.
I could be wrong on the below part. I am just speculating what your package might be doing based on the description provided.
Since your package synchronizes data between SQL Server and Active Directory, I assume that the task named Synchronize Permissions Active Directory Permissions selects some form of data stored in SQL Server and updates the content in Active Directory or vice versa. If my assumption is correct, this task is probably Script Task or Script Component. I believe that the code inside this component is failing to select an object (group/user) in Active Directory.
I would check whether a group/user was deleted in Active Directory on the days prior to when the package failed to run.
Hope this helps.
