My Blog link is http://www.example.com/blog when i am trying to access it it converts the url into http://www.example.com/blog/?ID=blog which is not correct. But when i put the backslash at the end of the blog it works fine but i don't want this back slash at the end
I try to change every thing inside htaccess file but failed.
Here is my htaccess file

Insert this rule after RewriteRule ^ - [L] to force a trailing slash:
DirectorySlash On

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+(.*?)[^/][?\s]
RewriteRule [^/]$ %{REQUEST_URI}/ [L,R=301]
RewriteRule ^blog(/.*)?$ - [L,NC]

here's the htaccess code
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
#www to non
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.(([a-z0-9_]+\.)?ghadaalsaman\.com)$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.+?)/?$ http://%1/$1/ [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+(.+?)\.html/?[\s?] [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1/ [R=301,NE,L]
#index redirect
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9}\ /index\.html\ HTTP/
RewriteRule ^index\.html$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/ [R=301,L]
# add a trailing slash to non files
RewriteCond %{ENV:REDIRECT_STATUS} ^$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^(.*?[^/])$ %{REQUEST_URI}/ [L,R=301]
# add html internally
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^([^.]+)/$ $1.html [L]
</IfModule>
Thanks for #anubhava for your Help
i've solved it by adding
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !sitemap [NC]
I am using htaccess for clean url. Which is working fine as long as the parameters doesn't carry whitespace. In which case it converts the space in %20 and I receive 404 error.
So basically the URL: http://localhost:8080/series/dynamics/admin/cleanURL/green%20apple
gives me 404 error. But URL: http://localhost:8080/series/dynamics/admin/cleanURL/greenapple works fine.
Also is there a way I can remove the directory details from the URL, I tried
RewriteRule ^series/dynamics/admin/cleanURL/(.*)$ /$1 [L,NC,R]
But doesn't work
htaccess
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
Options +MultiViews
Rewriteengine on
RewriteBase /series/dynamics/admin/cleanURL/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^series/dynamics/admin/cleanURL/(.*)$ /$1 [L,NC,R]
Rewriterule ^([a-zA-Z0-9]+)/?$ index.php?product=$1
RewriteRule ^(.*)(\s|%20)(.*)$ /$3-$4 [R=301,L,NE]
#rewrite group and subgroup e.g. http://.../value1/value2/ [L,NC,QSA]
Rewriterule ^([a-zA-Z0-9]+(.*)+)/([^/]+(.*)+)/?$ index.php?product=$1&subgroup=$2 [L,NC,QSA]
</IfModule>
You will need to add this rule in your site root .htaccess:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule (.*) series/dynamics/admin/cleanURL/$1 [L]
Then have these rules in /series/dynamics/admin/cleanURL/.htaccess:
Options +MultiViews
Rewriteengine on
RewriteBase /series/dynamics/admin/cleanURL/
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} /series/dynamics/admin/cleanURL/(\S*)\s [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1 [L,R=302,NE]
RewriteRule ^([^\s\x20]*)[\s\x20]+(.*)$ $1-$2 [L,R=302,NE]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
Rewriterule ^(\w+)/?$ index.php?product=$1 [L,QSA]
#rewrite group and subgroup e.g. http://.../value1/value2/ [L,NC,QSA]
Rewriterule ^([a-zA-Z0-9]+(.*))/([^/]+(.*))/?$ index.php?product=$1&subgroup=$2 [L,NC,QSA]
Below is my .htaccess file. I am trying to exclude the rewrite rules being applied to the /admin/ folder, however after spending an hour researching and trying various codes I have reached a wall.
Options -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
# Exclude admin directory
RewriteRule ^(admin|admin)($|/) - [L]
RewriteRule ^privacy$ pages/privacy.php [NC,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)/(.*)/(.+)$ products.php?q=$3&rewrite=1&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)/(.*)/$ search.php?q=bw:&categoryFilter=$1&genreFilter=$2%{QUERY_STRING} [L,B]
RewriteRule ^(.*)/$ pages/format.php?format=$1 [NC,L}
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(/$|\.)
RewriteRule (.*) %{REQUEST_URI}/ [R=301,L]
The above code brings an internal 500 error and if I remove it will redirect me to the rewrite rule for the format. I was reading that The exclusion rewrite rule needs to be placed before the rule I want to overwrite. I don't understand why it's not working and what I have missed.
Thanks.
Try and write your rule this way.
# Exclude admin directory
RewriteRule ^admin/?$ - [L]
You have a syntax error in your .htaccess.
Have your .htaccess like this:
Options -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
# Exclude admin directory
RewriteRule ^admin($|/) - [L,NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(/$|\.)
RewriteRule (.*) %{REQUEST_URI}/ [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
RewriteRule ^privacy$ pages/privacy.php [NC,L]
RewriteRule ^(.+)/(.+)/(.+)$ products.php?q=$3&rewrite=1 [L,QSA]
RewriteRule ^(.*)/(.*)/$ search.php?q=bw:&categoryFilter=$1&genreFilter=$2 [L,B,QSA]
RewriteRule ^(.+)/$ pages/format.php?format=$1 [NC,L]
I've been having trouble with the following rewrite. I'm certain mod_rewrite is enabled but not sure where I am going wrong.
I'm try to change the following pattern:
/profile/?userid=157&username=FirstL
to:
/profile/FirstL
I've tried many different rules, but the two I felt were the closest to being correct aren't working at all. My current failures below:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \ /profile/+\?userid=$([^&\ ]+)&username=$([^&\ ]+)
RewriteRule ^ /%1? [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)$ /profile/?userid=$1&username=$2 [L,QSA]
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^([^/]*)$ /profile/?userid=$1&username=$2 [L]
Full htaccess:
Options +FollowSymLinks -Multiviews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \ /profile/+\?userid=$([^&\ ]+)&username=$([^&\ ]+)
RewriteRule ^ /profile/%1/%2? [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^profile/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ /profile/?userid=$1&username=$2 [L,QSA]
RewriteBase /
DirectorySlash Off
RewriteRule ^admin$ /admin/index.php [L,E=LOOP:1]
RewriteCond %{ENV:REDIRECT_LOOP} !1
RewriteRule ^admin/index.php$ /admin [R=301,L]
# remove .php
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^GET\ (.*)\.php\ HTTP
RewriteRule (.*)\.php$ $1 [R=301]
# remove index
RewriteRule (.*)/index$ $1/ [R=301]
# remove slash if not directory
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /$
RewriteRule (.*)/ $1 [R=301]
# add .php to access file, but don't redirect
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}.php -f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !/$
RewriteRule (.*) $1\.php [L]
#Force non-www:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} www.(.*)$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://%1/$1 [R=301,L]
You're losing the userID part of the URL, so when you try to internally rewrite that back, there's nothing there:
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)$ /profile/?userid=$1&username=$2 [L,QSA]
This rule says the first match is the "userid" and the second match is the "username", and you only have one match, and on top of that, it doesn't even begin with "profile".
You'll need to include the userid somewhere in the URL, otherwise there's no way to extract it.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \ /profile/+\?userid=([^&\ ]+)&username=([^&\ ]+)
RewriteRule ^ /profile/%1/%2? [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^profile/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ /profile/?userid=$1&username=$2 [L,QSA]
I am trying to make some changes to my htaccess file for my Magento store to force a trailing slash at the end of all URL's that are not a file AND are not .html (product pages). At the same time, I am trying to force all lower case in URL's as well. Both of these are for SEO reasons, as links to /category, /Category, and /category/ are all viewed as different pages by Google.
Here is the rewrite section of the .htaccess as it stands:
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule .* - [E=HTTP_AUTHORIZATION:%{HTTP:Authorization}]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/(media|skin|js)/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l
RewriteRule .* index.php [L]
</IfModule>
I was shown these two snippets, the first for forcing lower case, the second for trailing slash:
RewriteMap lc int:tolower
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} [A-Z]
RewriteRule (.*) ${lc:$1} [R=301,L]
and...
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(.*)/$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain.com/$1/ [L,R=301]
However I don't know exactly how or where to insert these into the existing rewrites so everything works as desired.
Put this in your .htaccess:
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} [A-Z]
RewriteRule (.*) ${lc:$1} [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(.*)/$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^index.php
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.(html|jpg|png|gif)$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1/ [L,R=301]
RewriteRule .* - [E=HTTP_AUTHORIZATION:%{HTTP:Authorization}]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/(media|skin|js)/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l
RewriteRule .* index.php [L]
</IfModule>
and put this in your vhost config or httpd.conf:
RewriteMap lc int:tolower
