Visual Studio 2010 issue to convert a Web application - vb.net

I have a website made with vb and c#. I open the project in Visual Studio 2010 and there are no problems.
My problems start when I try to debug it. I have this error:
Could not load type 'projectName.Global
Also I need to convert it into a web application but when I do right-click on the project this option is not there.
I did all settings in IIS but I always have this error and I cant convert it
If it is not clear tell me, I will try to improve my question.

I am getting garbled text when debugging asp.net webform from Visual Studio 2013 in my browsers

When I go to start debugging a webform I have created in Visual Studio 2013 using any browser, the page comes up garbled. However when I publish it to a web server, it is fine.
I already searched the web and tried to disable the browser link as others have suggested. I tried recreating the code in a new webform. I have uninstalled and reinstalled IISExpress and Visual Studio 2013. Please see the image attached as to what it is doing. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks Mark,
it was definitely the compression setting. I searched online for it and changed it in the applicationhost.config file and that fixed it.

Can't open project in Visual Studio 2013 Express - Framework issue

So I have a program I've been making in VB for my company through Visual Studio 2013 Express for Desktop and have not worked on it in a couple of months. When I try to open it, I get the following error:
"The VB project "WindowsApplication1" is targeting ".NETFramework,Version=4.5" which is not installed on this machine."

I have all of the .NET frameworks installed including all developer and service packs (even language packs). I uninstalled all .NET frameworks and re-installed each of them without any resolution.
I tried to re-install Visual Studio and even tried changing the Framework (one of the options I have) but I cannot view any code or open designer view if I do so. (http://imageshack.com/a/img633/2109/OJaXbr.png)
The strange thing is this computer is the same one I have been developing this application on for months, so I'm not sure what happened over the last 60 days since I launched it.
Does anyone have any clues as to how I can resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Matt
The path to your project must be Les then 256 Character.
That can be the reason of it.
Make sure the path is short "Copy the project to your c drive "C:\ProjectFolder" and try again".

Visual Studio Tools for Office VSTO "customization assembly could not be found or could not be loaded"

I just installed Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate and I am trying to create a managed code extension project for Excel 2010 (32 bit Office Professional Plus). I have tried using the .NET 4.0 template contained in VS Ultimate for an Excel 2010 workbook. When I create the project everything looks fine until I run it.
Excel opens and I get the error message "The customization assembly could not be found or could not be loaded. You can still edit and save the document. Contact your administrator or the author of this document for further assistance." The details section is blank.
I have tried everything I could think of to figure this out and I have run out of ideas. I removed all addins from Excel except for the VSTO Design-Time Adaptor for Excel. I removed all personal macros. I set every directory I could think of to "trusted" in Excel and lowered the security settings for all options to "enabled (not recommended)". I completely uninstalled Visual Studio and re-installed. There are no errors or warnings showing up in Visual Studio. I also checked to make sure ".NET Programmability Support" was installed for my copy of Microsoft Excel.
I would link my code but I haven't written anything. I can't even get the default template to load when I run the project. A few others at work have the same setup as me and VSTO runs fine for them using the same steps. I even had someone send me a working project but it gives me the same message when I try to run it.
Is there anything else I can check to see where the problem is occurring? I tried setting break points in the project but it is failing before it gets to any of them.
Thanks so much for your help.
I've run into the same problem with Visual Studio 2010.
I isolated the problem to an SSRS reporting link we were trying to run from the add-in. I removed all the reporting stuff (service reference, sub-dirs, etc.) - the add-in runs fine.
We just ran into this and discovered that a method had a system exception that was not handled. It was hard to track down but once the culprit method had an exception handler the customization finished loading properly.

Convert project from vb6 to vb.net Visual Studio 2008

I want to convert my old vb6 project to a vb.Net solution, when I open do: File->Open->Convert this is what I get:
And I can't find a way to show the available converters...
I have try:
Installing framework 1.0 since I read somewhere that it's needed
Tried to install framework 2.0 but it's says "I have it" but it's not showing in the uninstall programs list
Tried to install framework 3.0, same as before.
I even try to add the Microsoft.VisualBasic.UpgradeWizard.dll via regasm but I can't open a console command in VS2008, only in VS2010 and I have read that VS2010 can't handle the conversion from vb6 to vb.net, it has to pass over VS2008 first.
Thanks in advance!
Well, the solution was to install Visual Studio 2005, then the converters were available:
I suppose I needed Framework 1.0.
It's not perfect, it has some errors, but its a step forward for a complete solution.
Of course I've found some other 3rd party conversion programs, but they are expensive:
ArtInSoft
Visualwebgui
Hope it helps someone else!
No clue what that Convert dialog is for--there's nothing in the help on it.
According to this Forum Post, you can open the vbp in Visual Studio and it should ask to convert the project (no option to open a .vbp file in VS 2010). However, even if it still did that in VS 2010, it's a tremendously bad idea.
See also this post on converting VB6 to VB.NET.
Also, check these duplicated SO questions:

Edit:
According to this MSDN Page, the conversion wizard only goes up to Visual Studio 2005
Edit Edit: Per MarkJ's comment, Visual Studio 2008 includes the upgrade wizard. It's gone in VS 2010.

.net 4 debugging api causes access violations in debugee

is there any way the .net 4 debugging api can somehow corrupt the state of an application during startup?
the issue i have is the following:
if i start my application from within a debugger using the .net debugging api (visual studio 2010, sharp develop 4, mdbg), i get various random access violations.
if i start my application from within a debugger not using the .net debugging api (delphi 2007, windbg with sos extension) everything works fine.
if i start my application directly and later on attach a debugger to it (like visual studio 2010, sharp develop 4, mdbg, delphi 2007, windbg), everything works fine.
if i move back to .net 3.5 and clr 2.0 i have no problems at all.
so what changed from .net 3.5 to 4.0 in the managed debugging api causing my application to throw access violations if started with it?
the application is written in delphi (unmanaged) and c# (managed) using managed vcl to do the interop.
i can hardly give any example to reproduce this issue so i'm aware that answering this question might be impossible, but if someone with more insight to the debugging api can give me a hint in the right direction or could help me narrow it down i'd be very thankful.
Just for fun try and disable the Visual Studio hosting process. In Visual Studio right click on the project, go to the 'Debug' tab, and uncheck the "Enable the Visual Studio hosing process" check box.
We've seen some strange stuff in the managed/unmanaged land on 64 bit systems running 32 bit apps.
Some additional info based on experience: It is important to use the COMPLUS_MDA environment variable (remember to restart VS2010 afterwards), not the MDA registry key. I tried setting the registry key (followed by restarting the computer) as described by the MSDN article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/d21c150d, as the article indicated this should have the same result, but that didn't work.
