SQL2008 to SQL2014 authentication issues

We recently migrated an application database to a new version from winserv2008/sql2008 to winserv2012R2/Sql2014. A service that pulls on this DB needs to be redesigned to accommodate some minor table/view definition changes.
Running the service code through tests under my personal security context works fine. However, installing and starting the service under .\LocalSystem is problematic. Looking at the service logs in event viewer I see that the service tries to connect to the sql server but gets a ERROR[28000] Login failed for user 'Domain\LocalSystemName$'.
The connection is via ODBC, SQL Server Native Client 11.0. Connection string is like:
"dsn=dsn_name;Driver={SQL Server Native Client 11.0};Database=database_name;Integrated Security=False;uid=accountname;pwd=accountpassword;Connect Timeout=15;ApplicationIntent=ReadOnly;"
Also, through the course of troubleshooting I've discovered/confirmed several things.
The sql server credentials I am using are correct, they are also being used to connect from a SQL2016 instance to the SQL14 server as a linked server.
The original service install on a utility server appears to be hitting the new database fine after the ODBC connection settings were switched.
My questions are:
Have you run into anything like this before?
Am I missing something simple in my connection string?
Are there per machine security settings in sql14 that I'm missing?

SSRS Solution Deployment

I have developed SSIS Package to fetch data from SharePoint Lists and importing to the SQL Server Tables. I am going to deploy this package as a Project Deployment Model.
From these SQL Tables, I have built SSRS Reporting Solution including few reports and Deployed it on my Development SharePoint Site.
But now, I have no idea how to send this solution with reports to the Client Side.
I have checked below utilities but not getting the exact idea of what I should do.
http://rsbuild.codeplex.com/
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms162839%28v=sql.110%29.aspx
SQL Server version I am using is SQL Server 2012 and Data tools version is also 2012.
Please guide me here.
Thank you,
Mittal.
To deploy your reporting objects, you right-click on the project in Visual Studio then select deploy and configure the server to deploy to.
If you are trying to get an already deployed package, you can use the import wizard:
e.g.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh270294.aspx
Then the report server can be accessed by the client browser - e.g. in internet explorer, browse to to: http:
//reportserver/reports
Where "reportserver" can either be the server's ip address or reporting server name.
You can also modify these reports using the report builder tool, that will allow you to edit the rdl files on the server - e.g. when you browse to the reports, you can select edit with report builder.
If you are using sharepoint, you can use sharepoint authentication mode or you can set up access based on active directory groups at the folder level, if the client is browsing to the reports using the web browser.

Unable to connect to Database Engine or Server

I am making a website for my friends. Here I have made a sign up page and using 3-tier architecture in .Net framework.
For database I am using sql server management 2008 R2.
On filling up the details in the sign up page I get an error. I am unable to understand whether I am unable to connect database or server properly.
What authentication I should use? Windows or SQL server Authentication and what has to be put up in web.config file.
Here are the screen shots.
My connectionString in DataLayerClass :
string strQuery = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["djconnect"].ToString();
djconnect is the key that I am using in the app setting tag.
Pass connection string directly into datalayerclass using sql connection instead of passing it to web config.

Access SQL database from Android?

I understand that to access a SQL database from Android I need to create a web service that will run on the SQL server and will process requests from the Android application, what I need to know is how to create this web service and how to access it from Android.
If anyone can point me in the right direction then this would be greatly appriciated.
On the client side, use Apache Commons HttpClient to communicate with the web service. It's bundled with the SDK.
Don't forget that you can also use a local DB.
How you create the web service server-side depends on your environment and has nothing to do with Android itself.

Running into an SQL Error with an MVC Application deployed on IIS

So I am new to working on web projects in general. I am working on an MVC application in Visual Studio 2008. I have generated an SQL database within VS, and I have deployed my application on IIS. However when I try to do anything in the application which will spark an SQL query, I get the following error:
"Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to failure in retrieving the user's local application data path. Please make sure the user has a local user profile on the computer. The connection will be closed."
I have hit google on this problem, and people have suggested a number of solutions but I am unsure how many of them are relevant to me doing this when I'm doing this in VS2008,. I have tried a few simple things suggested like setting the trust level to full, and setting the Load User Profile to true in IIS, but no luck yet.
What edition of SQL are you running where you deployed the application to? If it is not SQL Express, you will need to remove "User Instance=True" from the connection string.
