Calculate SUM of column based on another column SSRS - sql

I am working on creating a SSRS report that requires me to "have a column that gives me the number for the offer and out of that number how many enrolled." I have attached a screenshot of what I have done so far. I need to figure out how to create an expression (if there is a better way to go about this) that would use following logic: Get SUM of Count column where Enrolled = 'Yes'. Is this possible in SSRS?

Right now your summary expression probably looks something like this
= Sum(Fields!Count.Value)
If so - all you need to do is add a condition include only records with Enrolled = "Yes"
= Sum(IIF(Fields!Enrolled.Value = "Yes", Fields!Count.Value, 0))

Tableau: Get the ids that contain only the selected values from another column

I have the following question!
I have a table like this:
Data Source
I want to create a field(i suppose it's a field) that i can take the apl_ids,
that have as service_offered some that i want.
Example from the above table. If i want the apl_ids that have ONLY the service_offered
Pending 1, Pending 2 and Pending 7.
In that case, I want to get the apl_id = "13" since apl_id = "12" got one more service that i don't need.
Which is the best way to get that?

Add a calculated field which gives 1 for desired values and 0 for other values. Add another calc field with fixed LOD to apl_id to sum of calcF1. Filter all ids with values=3 only. I think that should work.

You can create a set based on the field api_id defined by the condition
max([service_offering]=“Pending 1”) and
max([service_offering]=“Pending 2”) and
max([service_offering]=“Pending 7”) and
min([service_offering]=“Pending 1” or [service_offering]=“Pending 2” or [service_offering]=“Pending 7”)
This set will contain those api_ids that have at least one record where service_offering is “Pending 1” and at least one record with Pending 2 ... and where every record has a service offering of 1, 2 or 7 (I.e. no others)
The key is to realize that Tableau treats True as greater than False, so min() and max() for boolean expressions correspond to every() and any().
Once you have a set of api_ids() you can use it on shelves and in calculated fields in many different ways.

Qlikview conditionally hide expression in pivot table

Struggling with a way to hide an expression on certain rows in my pivot table below. Basically, I want to be able to hide my expression 'Cumulative' when the FINANCIAL_PLAN_TYPE is not equal to 'OB_VARIANCE_TO_T1'. I figured out a way to change the text format on the lines with other FINANCIAL_PLAN_TYPE so that it appears hidden (what is showing in the picture below), but I'd really like the whole row to go away in these cases.
Additionally, I do not want to see a Total on the Cumulative lines if possible, but I do want to keep them on the Sum(AMOUNT) lines.
My expression for Cumulative is:
sum(aggr(Rangesum(above(sum({<YEAR={"$(vYear_Current)"},FINANCIAL_PLAN_TYPE={"OB_VARIANCE_TO_T1"}>}AMOUNT),0,MONTH_NUM)), FINANCIAL_PLAN_TYPE, MONTH_NUM))
I tried to use the function Only, as well as, I tried conditionally enabling/disabling the expression but I can't seem to get it to work. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

2) Created calculated dimension to combine the two desired dimensions into one and show blank ('') in cases that you don't want to show (this leaves one blank line on the pivot but there is probably a way to hide that too):

You cannot hide expression on some of the rows - not possible in Qlikview.
The workaround is to create a dummy floating table that holds the second column as a dimension and then use it in your chart instead of the two expressions. Then you will have one expression that says something like that :
If ( dummyField = 'Cummulative' and = 'OB_VARIANCE_TO_T1',
{Use your second expression here} ,
If (dummyField = 'sum(Amount)', {use your original first expression here}))

Percent of Group, not total

It seems like there are a lot of answers out there but I can't seem to relate it to my specific issue. I want to get the breakdown of yes/no for the specific Group. Not get the percent of the yes for the entire population of data.
I have tried the following code in the "What I'm Getting" % of Total cell =
=FormatPercent(Count(Fields!SessionID.Value)/Count((Fields!SessionID.Value), "Tablix1"),)
=FormatPercent(Count(Fields!Value.Value)/Count((Fields!SessionID.Value), "Value"),)
It should just be a case of changing the Scope in your expression to make sure the denominator is the total for the group, not the entire Dataset or Tablix, i.e. something like:
=Count(Fields!SessionID.Value) / Count(Fields!SessionID.Value, "MyGroup")
Where MyGroup is the name of the group, i.e. something like:
If this is still not clear, your best option would be to add a few sample rows, and your desired result for these, to the question so we can replicate your exact issue.

The Group % expression is:
=Fields!YesNoCount.Value / Sum(Fields!YesNoCount.Value, "MyGroup")
This is taking the YesNoCount value of each row and comparing it to the total YesNoCount value in that particular group (i.e. the MyGroup scope).
Note that I'm using Sum here, not Count as in your example expression - that seems to be the appropriate aggregate for your data and the required value.

How to Calculate specific cell total in SSRS?

As shown below image i have problem to calculated specific fields total.
I want to just calculate only two cells value like
total=(total opening-qty) + (total purchase-qty) cell and opening, purchase, sales are all from Type Group.
Please tell me the Expression or tips.
It's hard to tell without seeing your DataSet/report, but the expression would be similar to:
=Sum(IIf(Fields!Type.Value = "OPENING" or Fields!Type.Value = "PURCHASE"
, Fields!qty.Value
, Nothing)
This will take a SUM of all qty values, but it will ignore any Type rows that don't match the types you're specifying, i.e. OPENING and PURCHASE.
The most import thing is to make sure the expression is in the correct Scope, i.e. if you're grouping by Type the expression should be applied outside of that group Scope to make sure the expression is considering all the required rows.

SQL - How to insert a subquery into a query in order to retrieve unique values

I am writing reports using Report Builder 3, and I need some help with an sql query to get unique values.
Using the following sample data:
I need to be able to get one single value for feeBudRec returned for each feeRef. The value of each feeBudRec is always the same for each individual feeRef (eg for every data row for feeRef LR01 will have a feeBudRec of 1177).
The reason why I need to get a single feeBudRec value for each feeRef is that I need to be able to total the feeBudRec value for each feeRef in a feePin (eg for feePin LEE, I need to total the feeBudRec values for LR01 and PS01, which should be 1177 + 1957 to get a total of 3134; but if I don't have unique values for feeBudRec, it will add the values for each row, which would bring back a total of 11756 for the 8 LEE rows).
My experience with writing SQL queries is very limited, but from searching the internet, it looks like I'll need to put in a subquery into my SQL query in order to get a single unique feeBudRec figure for each feeRef, and that a subquery that gets a minimum feeBudRec value for each feeRef should work for me.
Based on examples I've found, I think the following subquery should work:

If that subquery will get the correct results, can anyone please help me with inserting it into my report query. Otherwise, can anyone let me know what I will need to do to get a unique feeBudRec value for each feeRef?
Depends on the exact schema, but assuming the uvw_EarnerInfo lists the Pin, Ref, and Rec without duplicates, try adding an extra column (after personOccupation) on the end of your query such as :
feeBudRecSum = (Select SUM(FeeBudRec) From uvw_EarnerInfo x
where x.feePin = uvw_EarnerInfo.feePin
Group By x.FeePin)
Note that you would not Sum these values in your report. This column should have the total you are looking for.
The key to Report Builder is to get your query correct from the offset and let the wizard then structure your report for you. It takes all the hard work out of structuring your report manually.
I haven't used Report Builder for a while now but in the query builder of the report displaying the graphical representation of your query you should be able to drag and drop columns in and out of the query set. Dragging a column upwards and out of the box (showing your columns) would have the effect of causing your report to break on this column.
If you restructure this way you will probably have to run the report generator again to regenerate the report and restructure it.
Once you are happy with the structure you can then begin to add the summary columns.
