What causes this "Unexpected element" that throws XMLStreamValidationException in JBoss config?

I am trying to migrate some software from JBoss 5 to JBoss 7. I am stuck, as my deployment fails with the below exceptions. Keep in mind that the software is working in JBoss 5, so anything that is not working should be because of differences between JBoss 5/7, I assume.
The line in question (line 12, as pointed to in the exception), is the following:
<application-policy xmlns="urn:jboss:security-beans:1.0" name="MyProjectDatabaseLogin">
The errors/exceptions are:
ERROR [org.jboss.msc.service.fail] (MSC service thread 1-4) MSC000001: Failed to start service jboss.deployment.unit."myear.ear".PARSE: org.jboss.msc.service.StartException in service jboss.deployment.unit."myear.ear".PARSE: WFLYSRV0153: Failed to process phase PARSE of deployment "myear.ear"

Message: ParseError at [row,col]:[12,4]
Message: WFLYCTL0198: Unexpected element '{urn:jboss:security-beans:1.0}application-policy' encountered"}}
Why is application-policy (or the xmlns value for it) unexpected here? What is causing this exception?
I had to manually type the above xml line and errors/exceptions, so it is possible there could be some typos not actually present in the original which do not contribute to the problem, though I have reread my question here several times and I don't think I typo'd the above.
I eventually figured out that these configurable items are no longer supposed to be in the same file. This information is now supposed to be in the server's configuration file, so you will probably put it into either the domain.xml file or the standalone.xml file.
This is a security application policy, so the contents of this tag now go into the <security-domains> section in a <security-domain> tag.
So it would be like the following. Notice that <application-policy ...> is now <security-domain ...> and it is within <security-domains>. Also, my security application-policy from before had two <login-module> within it, but if the new elytra security system is used, then only 1 <login-module> tag is allowed in the security-domain...
...
<security-domains> <!-- Search for this in the file and put the migrated part into here -->
<security-domain name="MySecurityDomain">
... all the stuff that used to be in the security application policy
... note that some of the stuff you put in here might need to change depending on the security system used
</security-domain>
</security-domains>

Failure on installing S3 connector for AEM 6.3

I am trying to connect S3 data store following this instructions. I am getting exact error described in this SOF question.
Steps:
Created a vanilla AEM 6.3 instance and able to upload images to DAM
Downloaded S3 connector and copied all .jar files into crx-quickstart/install folder
Copied org.apache.jackrabbit.oak.segment.SegmentNodeStoreService.config file and set customBlobStore=B"true"
Copied org.apache.jackrabbit.oak.plugins.blob.datastore.S3DataStore.config file and looks like this:
accessKey="scribed" connectionTimeout="120000" maxConnections="40" maxErrorRetry="10" s3Bucket="myproj-s3bucket" s3Region="ap-southeast-1" s3EndPoint="https://scribed.signin.aws.amazon.com/console" secretKey="scribed" socketTimeout="120000" writeThreads="30" cacheSize="16GB" cachePurgeTrigFactory="1"
(have scribed the key and secret)
When I restart my AEM none of consoles start. It throws
HTTP ERROR: 503 Problem accessing /. Reason: AuthenticationSupport service missing. Cannot authenticate request.

Am I missing any steps or config? Please help out
I got the answer to my question with help of my lead comparing the working config against failed. This parameter was incorrect:
s3EndPoint="https://scribed.signin.aws.amazon.com/console"
This can be blank as the connector will rebuild using s3Region. or it is https://region.aws.amazon.com. Since the error logs were throwing irrelevant errors, I was misguided. Removing this one parameter made difference.
Second observation was, while starting AEM, initially it does throw the error. But eventually it starts up. Need to wait for 3-4 mins. On logs I see connection refused during startup. But on subsequent request once all config is loaded, it is able to connect and upload successfully.

Null Pointer Exception while Configuring the Identity Provider Proxy using OpenAM

I am new to OpenAM and trying to learn by setting up an authentication solution involving a SAML2 service provider, SAML2 IdP Server, SAML2 IdP proxy.
I am able to set up a service provider, an identity provider and currently at the stage of setting up the IdP proxy "Step3: Configuring the Identity Provider Proxy (machineb)" in the guide SAMLv2 IDP Proxy Part 1. Setting up a simple Proxy scenario.
I am able to complete till "Step 3: b" and when I try "Step 3: c", I am getting the Null Pointer Exception.
My set-up is slightly different and I can map it like this:
machinea.sp.com is http://sp1.sp.com:8080 : The machine that will function as a SAML2 Service Provider (SP)
machineb.idpproxy.com is http://openam.idam.com:8080/OpenAM-11.0.0 : The machine that will work as the SAML2 IdP Proxy
machinec.idp.com is http://idp1.idp.com:8080/OpenAM-11.0.0: The machine that will assume the role of a SAML2 IdP.
Each of these are set up as a Virtual box VMs on my Mac OS X.
My circle of trust is spcot instead of cot and realm is /sprealm.
The stack trace I get on the web page after submitting the changes is:

Please can anyone help me with this exception and tell me what is its error in the setup and the possible solution to solve this problem.
Thanks in advance,
OpenAM is unable to send a SOAP message to the ADFS endpoint most likely because the JVM truststores are incorrectly set up. If you are not using HTTPS at ADFS, then probably some network component is blocking the traffic from OpenAM to ADFS. Check Federation debug log for further details.
