label loop for next visual basic - vb.net

Currently my code looks like this:

As you can see, I have added a variable and the loop runs fine, but I need help phrasing the code so whatever number the user inputs, is the number of lines of "Study!" displayed. I have tried using the string but also using the label with Environment.NewLine hoping it would add a new line every time the loop runs

You are setting the label text to strStudy each time. This doesn't add to what's there already, it just replaces it.
You need to add strStudy to the text that already exists, something like this:

Instead of using a TextBox, use a ListBox to display the word Study! n -times. It is also good practice not to instruct the user to do something, but prevent it in code. Also note how intNumber has been changed to *inp*Number As Object

We could use arrays but not knowing how many items will be added means either making the array bigger than needed or using Redim Preserve on every addition. A much better choice is a List(Of T). They work a bit like arrays but we can just add items without the ReDim stuff.

How can I work around an invalid/null value entered into a text box?

This is the part I want to focus on:

The above manages to check the text box (after its text value is changed by the Input Box) and loops fine, as long as it is empty... However, say I put a letter in, say, "l", it crashes and Visual Studio gives me the error "Conversion from string 'l' to type 'Single' is not valid." - which is fair enough. Although, I assumed the Null in isNullorEmpty meant it would catch invalid values, such as strings when it's supposed to be single.
I've tried quite a few things, and even my Computing teacher has been trying to get a solution.
I can't remember most of the things I've tried thus far so if I'll give whatever you guys come up with a go just to be on the safe side!

Honestly wouldn't have gotten anywhere if it weren't for your efforts!
I would simply check if the input is numeric.

A more complicated solution would be to limit the characters from being entered by checking on each keypress,

First, I recommend that you use the Double type instead of Single - it won't make any difference to how fast your program runs, but it will reduce rounding errors a lot.
Second, you can use Double.TryParse to check if a string can be parsed as a Double value. IsNumeric has some quirks which you do not want to find out about.
I took the liberty of adjusting the text which is shown to the user, as an "Oops!" before they have even tried to enter a value might be confusing, and it is better to tell them a number is needed than "a valid value":

How To Clear CheckedListBox From Previous Selection - VB.NET

Okay so I have a checkedlistbox that when a user selects a item it will print out that item into word. That works perfect. However, I want to give the user the option to not select anything at all, but when the user does not select an item in the checkboxlist, it still prints out the previous selected item into MS word.

Use a List(Of String) to store the selection and, of course remember, to reinitialize the list when you hit the ExportContactOkButton

In this way, every time you hit the ExportContactOKButton you reinitialize your list of contacts, loop through the checked items, add the checked one to your list.
A List(Of String) is better because you don't need to know in advance how many items your user selects in the CheckedListBox and continuosly resize the array. You simply add new items to it. And you could always use it like an array

Text Search And Replacement

I am working with visual basic and i'm creating a function which performs a search for each word that is entered into a richtextbox. As a word is being entered into RichTextBox2 a search Is performed in RichTextBox1 and the text is highlighted .
RichTextBox1 and RiochTextBox2 are read only , RichTextBox2 is able to be written in via code while RichTextBox1 has only default text (A directory of words). There is also RichTextBox3 which holds a copy of RichTextBox2's text

This is a very useful function but the main issues are
(1) because RichTextBox1 is read only , you gear the "ding" sound each time a search is being performed and it gets very annoying.
(2) I am unable to find a way to select the character whenever a word is found , or how to replace the word in RichTextBox3 with the character next to the searched word.
Could someone help with this problem .

search through listbox using comma separated values in textbox vb.net 2008

I am writing a code to search through the entire listbox items and highlight them whenever user enters text in textbox. I am looping through textbox items which are entered using a 'comma' . But the code fails to add it to selected indices when user types multiple items using comma. It works fine for single items.
