We want to create a Cognos report which renders a PDF output with an editable text field. Some of the values in the report will be retrieved from Database and one editable text field should be available which a user can manually edit outside of the report studio using pdf editors.
How do we create this editable text field in cognos?
There isn't any method I'm aware of to do this shy of using some post-processing code external to Cognos to edit the PDF and insert what you're looking for in a particular location.
You would need to ask IBM to add an enhancement to Cognos to get this to happen.

I have a dynamic pdf which I want to use for DocuSign and thus needs to be static. I cannot simply make use of the print as pdf function as I still want to use the interactive fields within the pdf.
I Tried to use Adobe AEM Forms Designer to save the document as static. But solely the first page of the form is saved.
Regarding your concern, I would like to share the following information, you can learn about PDF form field transformation. It enables you to transform PDF form fields automatically into DocuSign tabs, carrying over all of their existing values. The locations of the created tabs will match the locations of the fields from which they were generated.
To transform PDF form fields into DocuSign tabs, you need to set the transformPdfFields property on the documents whose fields you want to transform.

I am trying to convert a pdf file to a crystal report file, is that even possible? IS there a software tool out there that does that?
I have looked on-line but can't find anything
The answer is no.
But given that the question is a bit odd (Crystal needs a data source), perhaps what you are after is embedding a PDF form outline in Crystal.
That can be done by inserting the PDF (or an image of the form) in the page header and taking advantage of the 'Uderlay Following Sections' option. This would make the form outline act as the background for the rest of the report, allowing you to position dynamic content on top of that image.
I'm using Extract Form Fields to get data from a PDF. But upon selecting the area where the desired text is located, the "Value" text area in the popup should be automatically populated with desired text, but that isn't the case. The "Value" field is staying blank.
Any idea what might be causing this?
you need to check whether your PDF has handwritten content or it is a scanned file.
if your PDF does not satisfy above criteria you can easily automate your PDF using Automation anywhere by selecting the area. if your PDF is invoice or bill or any type of GST forms better to use IQ Bot.
I have a Crystal Report template using Visual Studio 2015 and Crystal Report 11.
I am trying to make an editable PDF when I export it. Some fields with data that could be modified when the PDF is exported. Other data will not be able to be changed.
Is it possible to do that, I mean, export an editable PDF using Crystal Report?
Thanks in advance!
You can not export pdf with editable fields, crystal report does not support.

Better to ask in SAP forum that they have any support.
For this you need third party tool - https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28076120/Editable-PDF-from-Crystal-report.html
I have a task that needs to create a 6-page SSRS report in PDF format. Each page will have a different dataset and SQL query, and I need to include them in one report in separate pages with page numbers.
I have created the 6 separate reports, but I am not sure how to create one PDF with each report on its own page.
You could just create another report with all the reports compiled in it as SubReports, and enable "add a page break after" after each Subreport.
Adding the Page number is as simples as adding a text to your footer with Globals!TotalPages
