How do I build a sencha app to target production in a specific folder? - sencha-touch

Using the latest Sencha Cmd tool v4.0.2, how do I build an app for production mode into a specific folder not into its default build folder within the app folder.
I am trying to do this from the command line but not succeeding at all.
Tried this according to their help on command line but had no success with it for several weeks now:

No-one seems to know what the issue is. Am I the only person in the world who is actually encountering an issue with this!? Any help appreciated from anyone with some knowledge of the Sencha products greatly appreciated.

I added the following to the sencha.cfg within the .sencha\workspace folder.
workspace.build.dir=C:/builds/TolMobile
Not sure why packager.json contains an output path with the following:
"outputPath":"../build/",
It doesn't seem to even be used. If its redundant why don't they just remove it? In addition I still haven't got their command line arguments to work either. Strange.

change "outputPath" in packager.json file.

To built the builds folder relative to your project.
Add to the .sencha/app/sencha.cfg

IDEA: each test run creates an empty file in project directory

When I run a JUnit test in IDEA, an empty file appears in project directory. The file is named according to the following pattern: .attach_pidNNNNN, for example .attach_pid6710.
If a run a usual Java application (using main() method), no such files appear.
This has started recently, probably after the upgrade to version 2018.3.
Is this ok? It is a bit irritating to remove these files manually all the time.
PS. What happened to the test green line? :)

how can i create project by chromium gn tools?

install depot_tool then following the gn guide and standalone guide, but i always get error "gn.py: Could not find checkout in any parent of the current path."
so my problem is :
how to create the gn project which is not using chromium sub project, eg: only one function like helloword?
how to create the gn project which is using chromium sub project like v8/pdfium, eg: one console project is using pdfium to read pdf page count.?
I'm not completely sure from the error you describe but it sounds like you don't have a .gn file in the root.
I recently started getting into gn and made a simple starter project: https://github.com/aellerton/experiment-learn-gn
The first thing I didn't expect was the need to have a root .gn file, and that the file needs to point to the root config: https://github.com/aellerton/experiment-learn-gn/blob/master/.gn
The second thing I didn't expect was the need to provide an entire toolchain. I kind of like this now as it gives me full power. I used this one here, by making it a git submodule as the author suggests: https://github.com/timniederhausen/gn-build
Then building a trivial Hello World console program was straightforward.

iOS UI Test Project 'MailCore/MailCore.h' file not found

I did a
git clone https://github.com/MailCore/mailcore2.git
I open the
iOS UI Test.xcodeproj
I run the Build
I get the error
'MailCore/MailCore.h' file not found
I cannot understand why that is happening.
What should I do to get this to build?
Some other sources I have found and followed their instructions are below. None of which fixed this problem.

I also was able to open the
mailcore2.xcodeproj
and successfully build each of the targets. Which is interesting that I can do that but cannot build the test project independently.
I also followed the video and read me instructions to add to an existing project and was able to build until I added the
#import <MailCore/MailCore.h>
to one of my files.
UPDATE:
The above process I initiated on my iMac.
On my MacBook Pro after I cloned mailcore2 I opened
mailcore2.xcodeproj
first then did the build on each of the targets.
Then I closed that project.
Opened the iOS UI Test.xcodeproj and did a build on that.
This was successful.
However, I still want to know what would cause the problem with the "file not found"
UPDATE 2:
I removed to trash all mailcore2 code from my iMac.
I created different locations in Finder for doing another clone of mailcore2.
I did the git clone.
I opened mailcore2.xcodeproj
I followed the exact same process of building each target like I did on my MacBook
I then opened the iOS UI Test.xcodeproj and did a build.
I get the same problem of
'MailCore/MailCore.h' file not found
Makes no sense to me how it works on macbook but not on iMac.
You can add in target dependency static mailcore ios(mailcore2).
and add the framework libmailcore-ios.a
Its working.
What I finally did was drop mailcore2 into an existing app I already had started.
To do this I did the following:
I removed all traces of mailcore2
I again followed the instructions in the README and the video help.
This time I followed some instructions from

The instructions in that link says to add the following to Library Search Path:
$(PROJECT_DIR)/mailcore2/Externals/ctemplate-ios/lib
$(PROJECT_DIR)/mailcore2/build-mac/build/Debug-iphonesimulator
And the Header Search Path to
$(PROJECT_DIR)/mailcore2/build-mac/build/Debug-iphonesimulator/include - recursively
But, that did not work for me. I had to add the HARD CODED PATH to each of those 3 folders.
After doing a clean and build I was then able to add the
#import <MailCore/MailCore.h>
Now it BUILDs completely without error for me.
I will go back and try to add proper relative paths to each of those Search Paths.
Hopefully this helps somebody else with same issue.
FWIW
Had same problem, spend hours trying - nothing worked, not ever hardcoding paths.
Then I stumbled on one issue:
if in XCode\Preferences\Locations I go to Derived Data - Advanced and set it to different locations it always reverts it to Unique, when I go back and check it.
Then I went in File\Project Setting to Derived Data - Advanced and there it was set to Unique. I changed it there to Default and now it does not have that issue anymore!
I delete Derived data, clean project and Start build (Ctrl+B) and I can see now how Build is being created in derived data w/o problems. And that what mailcore needs to function.
And, I checked - no need for hardcoded paths either!
Hope it helps somebody.
PS Another feature maybe useful too - XCode\Preferences\Continue building after error though it did not matter in my case

LiteIDE won't run code after building, Process failed to start

About a week ago I installed golang successfully on my computer and got it's terminal commands to process. So by that, I know go is on my computer.
I have been looking for a good IDE and found https://code.google.com/p/liteide/ LiteIDE which was made specifically for Go.
I read that if you already had go installed on your computer then you could use LiteIDE to start building your code right away. I must have read something wrong some where because I cannot get my projects to build at all. I think it there may be a missing/incorrect path and or something is just setup incorrectly.
This is the error I get in the console:

I checked the C:/go directory to make everything there is correct and it was. Also I'm using 64bit windows 7 and double checked that as well.
Any ideas? Mine are: Missing/Incorrect Paths, Can't access a certain directory due to restrictions.
While I have not tested this in Windows 7, on Windows 10, these were the steps that I took to make LiteIDE work
Installed Go to C:\Go
Added C:\Go\bin to PATH and made sure go was working from Command Line
This was the most important step for me. Defined GOPATH in an environment variable. In my case, it was C:\Users\vivek\Documents\Source\Go. I also made sure that there were three folders src, pkg and bin were created in GOPATH. At this point go env was showing me correct values for GOPATH and GOROOT. go get, go build and go install was working as well at this step.
Downloaded and unzipped LiteIDE to C:\liteide. Started LiteIDE and it worked out of the box for me. Make sure that GOPATH is seen correctly by LiteIDE by going to View > Manage GOPATH

It's not a good idea to keep your projects in the GOROOT path, which per default (when installed using the MSI installer) is C:\Go. Always keep it separated from there. It also helps to avoid issues with updates.
Since Go projects are made up of packages which are organized in directory structures it is important to follow a few rules and keep the working space for your Go projects separated and clean.
In my opinion its best practice to create ONE working directory as the root for ALL your Go projects somewhere in your user space and stick to it.
One way to do this is to create a directory like "work" and set the environment variable GOPATH to it (e.g. C:\Users\Peter\Documents\work). Make sure to relog or restart your computer after your changes.
Upon certain operations Go will automatically create the directories bin, pkg and src below your GOPATH.
src contains your created or downloaded Go source files,
pkg contains your installed package objects, and
bin contains your installed executable files.
bin or pkg will automatically be created when you use the go install command to install a binary executable or a package. It's important to understand that these are files that are not part of the Go installation.
src, if it does not yet exist, will automatically be created the first time you issue a go get command or in case of LiteIDE, the first time you create a new Go1 Command Project or Go1 Package Project. Watch the "Location:" field on the dialog box, it should include your path defined in GOPATH followed by \src (e.g. C:\Users\Peter\Documents\work\src).
In the name field enter the path you want to use for your project. If you plan to track the development of your project on Github (or other repo) it's common practice to include the path to the Git repo in your source path (e.g. github.com/petergloor/hello-go).
Of course you can use any other structure to organize your projects as long you make sure they fall below the src directory in your GOPATH.

A final note about the GOROOT environment variable. Dont explicitly set this if you install Go in C:\Go. It's enough to include C:\Go\bin in your path and to set GOPATH. GOROOT is only needed in case Go is installed at another location.
I also had this problem first, but after completing the installation process, I succeeded.
Step 1:
Run (Ctrl+R) -> run target, request build first.
BuildAndRun(Ctrl+F7) -> build and run target
FileRun(Alt+F6) -> go run
step 2:

Try setting up the GOROOT to the directory where go was installed. It worked for me.
Do you have 'Install' keyword in your project name? Try remove it.
You have to setup LiteIDE variables correctly (if there are not by default).
Please, check two options:
Go to Settings → "Manage GOPATH"
Options → LiteEnv (there are
environment definitions files). Just double click on someone and
setup Go environment variables.
I'm not sure how this works, but it worked in my case. I got this idea from this video on Youtube-Chris Hawkes
Open LiteIDE.
Click File---New.
Select "Go1 Command Project".
Browse the desired path.
Select the desired folder.
Name the folder and click Ok.
Now, you will be able to see a "main.go" file opened in the IDE.
Write whatever code you want to run in this file with correct syntax, it will run.
The only problem with this is, whenever I create another ".go" source code file in the same folder, the same error is shown. So, you might have to edit this file every time, you try to write new code.

Running an Mac OS command line application, how to

Suppose you create a new Mac OS Command Line Application using Xcode, which prints something. How do you actually find and run it using your command line or Finder?
Application was "built", but project directory structure does not seem to contain an executable file. For what matter in what format will this file be?
Please advise
This should help out:
Choose to build your project for archiving (Product->Build
For->Archiving).
The executable will be created and placed in the project build
folder. This will typically be something like
/Users//Library/Developer/XCode/DerivedData//Build/Products/Release.
If you wish, copy the executable to a more convenient location.
To run it, open up a shell window, browse to the executable
directory, and type in your command name.

I see you mentioned iOS in your question and tagged it as such. This answer is NOT relevant to iOS, infact I see no option to build a command line application for that system and it doesn't really make much sense to have one.
