How to create crystal report with multiple check boxes per question.
Example:
Question 1? Yes No None
Question 2? Yes No None
.

.
create a formula and set the true portion as the character that creates a checked box in wingdings, and the false to the unchecked box in wingdings. then when you drag the field onto the form select wingdings as the font
See the link below, this will give you the basis of the formula you need:

I am working with crystal report in visual studio , the report contains data from the data base . the Problem is that the field object height in the report it is fine for short text length but for long text some characters that exceed the field object height will be hidden.
I have been used can grow property by checking it in the format object window but it didn't work the section height didn't increase automatically to wrap all text .
please how can i solve this problem ? any help would be appreciated
thanks in advance
In crystal reports, create a new formula. (it can be done by right-mouse clicking on Formular Fields in the "Field Explorer". In this formula field, drag and drop the notes field so the formula would look something like this {Command.Notes} or {TableName.Notes}. Then back in your report, right mouse click in the Details section and select Insert --> Text Object. Then drag and drop that newly created Formula field into the newly created blank text object.
I have created a form and set the form's RecordSource to a query. Below is my query:
SELECT GeneralT.*, SalaryT.[Status]
FROM GeneralT INNER JOIN SalaryT ON GeneralT.Deposits = SalaryT.Deposits;
In the form I have 4 textboxes. In the first 3 textboxes I show value from GeneralT table and in fourth textbox I show SalaryT.[Status] value. But this fourth value doesn't show in the textbox rather it show #Name?.
If I open the query in datasheet view I can see all the value properly. I don't understand what is wrong here. Please help me to show the result properly in the form.
Displaying #Name? for a field says that field has a control source that does not match with the query linked to the form. Some things to check:
Make sure Status is a selection from one of the pre-existing options in the Control Source drop down combo box. Click on the combo box to make sure.
Double check to make sure it is a "Text Box" and not a custom
control.
Make sure there isn't another text box named Status
Try chaning the control source to just Status instead of SalaryT.[Status]. If the field name does not conflict with the naming of a field in GeneralT, the selected SalaryT.[Status] will actually be displayed named Status.
I currently have a form. The form contains a subform that displays a Query. The Form also has 2 Text Boxes and buttons for both Boxes. The first box acts as a filter for the query to filter specific record. The second box is intended to be used to hide columns in the query. My issue is that my code will not recognize the text box, or any outside source from my form as a Field Name to be found. Here is my current code:
Private Sub Command137_Click()
Forms![Vermont]![Query1 subform].Form.[Query1 Field Name].ColumnHidden = True
End Sub
Currently if I replace "Query1 Field Name" with any field name that exists in the query the column will hide. However if replaced with anything else I recieve the following error:
"Runtime Error '2465'
Microsoft Access Can't Find the Field '|' reffered to in your expression"
I am pretty sure that I am not referencing the Form Control correctly. I have tried replacing [Query1 Field Name] with the following:
[Text142.Text]
[=Text142]
[Text142]
[Forms![Vermont]![Text142]]
I am very new to VBA but I definitely feel as if this is an easy fix; if possible.
Thank you in advance for any help!
Subform references are always a bit weird. This should work, though:
Forms![Vermont]![Query1 subform]![Text142].ColumnHidden = True
I am working on an MS Access forms Application using VBA.
I have a form which has three check boxes and i am trying to add a new check box in the form. The Three check boxes , which are already present have the grey shade inside them.
What does it represent ? If any thing significant, how to acheive that .
I am linking my MS Access form objects with SQL Server
Please help on this ...
You can find some documentation here

That shading either means that a value has not been set, or that the "Triple State" property is set to True and the checkbox is displaying a null value (if "Triple State" is set to false, nulls display in the same manner as false - i.e., a clear checkbox).
Code in Form onLoad:
country_combo.RowSourceType = "Value List"
Code in a reset function:
Dim lListIndex As Long
With Me.country_combo
For lListIndex = .ListCount - 1 To 0 Step -1
.RemoveItem (lListIndex)
Next lListIndex<br/>
End With
Code to populate country combo:
*For n = 1 To numCountries*
*countryCombo.AddItem (countryRS.Fields("countryName"))*
*countryRS.MoveNext*
*Next n*
I'm having a problem that occurs AFTER the code to populate the country combobox runs. The values are there as I can run Debug.Print(countryCombo.Value) and it prints out the name of the selected country, but I can't see the values in the combobox at all. They're invisible, and as far as I know there is no visiblity property for specific items, unless I'm completely mistaken.

I think you should probably use Access's GUI tools to do what you're looking for. In design mode, click on the field you are trying to populate, then click the "lookup" tab. You can then specify a table to populate the field with and your forms should automaticly update as well.
I've also seen what you describe here - as far as I can tell, it's a bug within Access (I was using 2007) that only occurs when you programatically mess with the contents of a combo box. It does not happen every time. The issue corrects itself if you highlight the text that is in the combo box.
I am experiencing a similar issue with Access 2003. Based on the selection of one combo box, the row source of a listbox is set to an SQL string Basically a SELECT DISTINCT [MyField_Selected] FROM MyTable. For some fields the values are visible in the list box and others it is not. The values are there however as I can access them via code. To make it more interesting it works fine in Access 2007.
Just found the resolution on another forum. Check the format property of the field(s) in question on the table. In my case, when Access 2007 created the table, it put an # format in there. I removed that and all works great!
