I have two frames, main.xaml and target.xaml. I navigated to target.xaml from main.xaml. target.xaml has some content in a little square. Now I want that besides this square the rest of the area(of target.xaml frame) should be transparent(It should show main.xaml). I could not found any solution. Please help me. Are "opacity" or something like "isFullScreen" can help ?
Caution: You need to use the correct types here: main.xaml and target.xaml are probably a Page, not a Frame.
If you really have to use a transparent Page, then you need to retemplate the Frame which presents the Pages.
I think you better use a Popup or simply a Control to achieve what you want.

I'm trying to make an UITabBarController like this:
No matter the device width (whether it is rotated or not) the buttons should not be stretched and the leftover space should be on the right side.
My questions:
Is this possible with the UITabBarController?
For the whitelines inbetween the buttons I am planning to use an unclickable UITabBarItem with an image. Is this the best way to do this?
With this tutorial that I followed I am getting this result:
2 problems here ^, whilst my background.png is 320x49, the selected image (68x49) has padding. This should not happen, both pictures have the same height?
The second problem is that the button/image has trailing space, and I want it sticked to the left side, as in my first screenshot. How would I accomplish this?
I don't expect anyone to post code, just merely a push in the right direction as I'm totally lost on this.
Check this library, you can customize the UI in interface builder with consstraints and get what you want.
I see it's easy to change the image size, make it link to something, or change the title and description, but what I don't see is an option to align the image right, left, or center. Am I missing something?
I'm using the Air theme, if that matters. I'm new to Impresspages.
Thanks!
Edit:
Just to make it absolutely clear what I'm asking:
I'm using Impresspages. I want to insert an image and make it align to the right, for example.
I have no trouble dragging and dropping the image widget to where I want it to go. I have no trouble uploading the image. If I wanted to, it is quite clear how to change the image size, how to add a link, and how to change the title and description of the image.
However -- I would have thought there would have been an option to align the image to the left, right, or center, but there is no such option. I have checked Stackoverflow very carefully, as well as the Impresspages site, and I don't see anywhere how to do what should be a really simple thing.
Am I missing something? Or do I need to just learn how to do without right aligning my images?
Thanks!
You can do that by dragging image widget next to other widget on any side. It that case it will align where you want. Here's an example - http://cdn.impresspages.org/core/file/2014/04/03/Impresspages_no_colum_01_1_2.gif
To make it centered is a bit tricky. There are no straightforward way of doing it.
If you really really need this, you can try using RichText widget. It allows to insert image into a text as it is in any text documents.
You can create additional skin for Image widget to be centered http://www.impresspages.org/docs/widgets#skin
Geeky way. But going to work.
How could I achieve a page layout in which I could scroll horizontally to the right, to display a content on the page that is wider than the page itself? Something very similar to the "Store" App...
Tried scrollviewer encasing stackpanel, grids or others and no result. I looked at the samples that are generated from the Store project templates but those are also different. I guess it shouldn't be so hard but can't figure it out...
I'm trying to obtain something like this :
I want to display a content, divided into columns, which continues from a column to another. Tried also with WrapGrid, but no success... Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you.
If you are going implement something similar to Article view, please read this page News apps on MSDN. It gives you information about what should you use to build apps like News apps, check the Your app's article view part:
For more info about best practices for fonts, such as size, color, and
weight, see Guidelines and checklist for text and typography
(JavaScript) or Displaying and editing text (C#/VB/C++). In Windows
Store apps written using XAML, you can use the RichTextBlock and
RichTextBlockOverflow controls to manage text overflow. For an
example, see XAML text display sample.
I want to create a rotating widget for iPhone application. Something similar here. But in this selected section is at left (0 degrees). It starts populating sections form left (0 degrees). I want selected section at top (90 degrees).
Please note number of sections are odd in my case. So adjusting top section must be properly adjusted at top center.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

You can use the iCarousel library for that. It is very customizable.
Or maybe you want to try out the new UICollectionView, you can customize its layout as well so that it looks like a wheel.
If you look carefully at the source you cite, it explains exactly where it sets the starting point. When filling in first the labels and then the images, it is really irrelevant where you start.
The only difference is the graphic surrounding the wheel with the indicator on the left. Simply rotate that and you are done.
Is there a way to change the orientation of the iPhone using a button?
No. flip the phone, the orientation changes. Leave it at that, or you'll ruin the integrity of the phone.
sometimes we need to show our app in the correct orientation, even if there is not direct way on doing what domness want, you can look at this SO entry and see some responses.
P.S. # domness, try to search for what you need before posting a new question.
What exactly are you trying to reorient? You can change the position of the status bar with UIApplication -setStatusBarOrientation:animated:; rearrange your UI with the proper transformations and you'll pretty much have it.
You can force an orientation change, but only using an unsupported, private API. If this is something you'd like Apple to make public, you should file an enhancement request.
This is my new account btw..
Right, I got this sorted by apply the transformations to what I wanted to show when the button was clicked. It was to show a scrollview with applied animations to objects within the scroll view.
