So dumb question here, but its driving me insane!:
In SQL developer I often accidentally drag and drop opened 'tabs' from time to time and this then adds it to a different part of the screen so you can see multiple tabs open at once. Great if you do it on purpose, not so easy to undo if by accident.
When i try to 'grab' the 'tab' and place it back where it was it doesn't let me and just drops the tab to a different part of the screen and rearranges everything else in the process.
I currently have to close the tab, find whatever i was viewing again, and open it when my other tab list is open. Hopefully that all makes sense :)
So is there not an easy way to just put the tab back in the previous pane?
I've actually had this question for months now, and ironically the same day I posted this question i accidentally stumbled upon the answer. You grab the tab, drag it over the active file in another pane you wish to add it too, and when the full square shows(centered) over the active tab you drop it.
Another way to place all of the tabs back into the same window is to right click on any tab and select the "Collapse Tab Groups" option (see image below). This will put all of the tabs back into the same window.
However if you wish to reorder the tabs within the same window you must use the way that #TheJavaBeast said by dragging it to the center.
Just wanted to add this for more information!

I’m not sure what are these called:
I mean the Show code with my wire stats, Show Memory indicator, etc..
Basically, I’m mostly interested so this autocomplete menu would only show files, or at the very least would prioritise files. How can this be achieved?
I’m in version 2022.2.1.
That popup is called Search Everywhere and you are on an "All" tab that includes combined results from Classes, Files, Symbols, Actions etc.
Either manually switch to the desired tab (using a mouse or by hitting Tab needed number of times) or invoke this popup for the desired search from the start. For that just use the shortcut for Navigate | File... (Ctrl + Shift + N here on Windows keymap).

Found the solution.
These things are called Actions, and the can be disabled in menu that appears after clicking the small funnel icon in the top right:
I tested, these changes seem to 'survive' a restart.
Yes, at the moment it is remembered only during the session.

(P.S. The same happens with Find in Files popup (IDEA-143972) and a few others similar popups as well)
A few weeks ago I detached the error log within the editor as a separate window; I was just seeing what was going to happen.
Now I can't put it back and I get two separate error log windows. One that is the original detached window and another that's still within the editor. I can't find any option to reattach it to the single Dbeaver window/editor in attempt to revert it to what it was before.
The yellow bar in the picture is the window I'm referring to. It's just a little annoying for a new window to be produced every time I get an error. I've tried to look for toggles in the preferences menu but haven't seen anything that stands out to be the problem. Nor can I just drag and drop back it into the editor.
Looks like after an update you can't merge it to any of the bottom windows , but can keep it as a tabbed window like this.
i have searched up and down the internet but cannot figure this out. So ive finally come here for the aid of some utter genius people.
I dont like the windows right click function as it has too many options. Some of the options like properties cannot be removed. So, i thought i could disable right click to remove the menu and create my own.
The problem i have is i cannot figure out for VS2010 how to right click on the desktop outside of the form/project and make a box pop up like the same behaviour as the built in one. I am ultimately wanting to be able to expand and add things but im falling at the first hurdle.
Can someone please tell me how to right click on the desktop and create a context menu popup where i can add my own items. i want it to behave the same as windows but i want it my own essentially. This way in the future i will be able to enable or disable my own functions i.e open/winrar/7zip / remove edit on the fly.
thanks

Remove/Disable the default menu of desktop is not a good idea at all
But you can add your own items as well using 3rd party apps
I made an app modifies the default menu ,it can append more items an sub items
I wrote it long time ago I do not remember if i still have the source code or not

I'm currently working on an application for Windows, however, I have one small problem: I can't seem to figure this one out...
Is there a way to remove the tab headers from tab control and designate other buttons to switch between tabs? I'm going for a more modern look and the default tabs in tab control are not at all what I'm interested in.
thanks for your answers on this question!
I've just thought of a different method to keep the clean look of my program without having to get too complicated with code.
For anyone wondering about this, you could set different buttons to hide and show different things, for example:
Under homeBtn you could have code that shows the information shown on the page by default, yet at the same time, you could also hide any information from the previous tab.
Thanks, Laugh
You can easily add buttons setting the property SelectedIndex on the tab control to switch the pages. To hide the tab headers, there are some ideas over here.
I would like the user to be able to click on the system tray icon to hide a window if it is visible, or show it if it isn't. However I can't see way to detect the show/hide state of the window.
I looked here but couldn't see anything that would give me what I need. The only way seems to be to keep track of if my last call was to show() or to hide(). Is there a better way?
I've needed this myself just recently, but as far as I know the best (only?) way is to set a boolean (e.g. var showing = true;) and then on every change (including the minimize and restore events) set the boolean to the correct value. Then you could simply make an if statement when clicking on the tray icon to see if the window is showing, and if it is hide the window, otherwise show it.
Hope I helped you a bit, I'm still looking for a better way myself but this is all I have found so far.
