We are trying to code an integration between our order management software (DAX) and our BigCommerce site. In order to communicate tracking #s from DAX to BC we need to be able to query the Shipping_Method field. BC has told us that we cannot set the Shipping_Method field with the current API, but this seems strange because we can set the method manually when updating orders through the back end of our site, and we're assuming that functionality comes from the API.
BC's specific response was:
"Unfortunately you cannot set the shipping_method field at this time, though this is something we are currently in discussion about in regards to exposing to the API."
Does anyone have any experience/perspective on using the shipping_method field with an integration?
Thanks!
BigCommerce doesn't necessarily call upon its API overtime you make a change in the software as it is most likely code invoked locally on the same server. In experience, if it isn't on the API docs you can't use it or manipulate it. It's daft the tracking number isn't available but I guess it's just the way it is at the moment.

I am currently trying to create a report of all amazon pay transactions. All data I need is included the "Amazon Pay Transaction Reports" which can be generated for a desired time period in the sellercentral interface. The report can then be downloaded as a CSV.
The amazon API documentation makes it seem like there is also the option to create and access this report programatically. (https://developer.amazon.com/docs/amazon-pay-checkout/set-up-reports.html)
Unfortunately the link in the documentation for further details seems to be broken.
Does anyone know how to access this endpoint or whether there is any other way to get the data for all transactions within given time period?
I was also looking at the other endpoints but unfortunately it seems like it is not possible to query multiple charges at the same time but only by a specific chargeId.
the documentation link in that page should be corrected, but you can also access the Reporting API Integration Guide here.
I know, we have dedicated API documentation for Shipping and different services.
But there is no endpoint to get all UPS Shipments at once using API.
Can anyone provide me the endpoint with example?
Thank you in advance.
I had the same question and after a long email thread with UPS Support they confirmed there is no way to grab historical shipment information.
The only option they gave is maybe using QVM which also has it's limitations.
That would be correct, Quantum View Manage and Quantum View Data would be your best available option to view the outbound information. You can have it build a report with address, name and tracking number. Contact your local UPS Account Representative for in depth details if you would like to explore that option. There is a Quantum View API however it would first need to be setup via your local Rep with the website. You are still manually searching the docs however for the information at hand when reviewing the reports. It will not pull it up or give a simple error if what you are looking for is not found. They just pull information all or nothing.
I am new to the bloomberg API so forgive me if this is silly but I am creating a html website on a mac and I want to simply fill a div with some data from bloomberg e.g. the current value of the EURUSD.
How can this be done? Is this what the bloomberg API is for?
This is something that would typically be forbidden by the license - data obtained from the Bloomberg API can generally not be redistributed.
Plus (you might know that) the Bloomberg API is publicly available but to be able to receive actual data through the API, you need to subscribe to Bloomberg, which is a payable service.
There are probably better (and less expensive) ways to get EUR.USD rates.
The API is for this, but the licensing is typically not. You can use the server mode and try to communicate with a Bloomber Server (paid component) and ask for licensing to redist the data. Your problem here is not technical but legal
If you don't have a Bloomberg account, you can get an idea of how this is done using the Bloomberg API Emulator. It works and looks just like the Bloomberg API, but it doesn't require an account to use. It doesn't return real data, but you can use it to learn how to request data from the Bloomberg API.
From a 10-minute read of the Developer's Guide at http://www.openbloomberg.com/, it looks like you might be able to use it to get current foreign exchange rates. The Developer's Guide gives coding examples in Java, .NET, C++, and C.
My school is using a website to manage grades, homework and communication with teachers. Because there is no way to get automatic notification, most students have to use it daily to check manually if there's an update (new message, new grade, etc). Since their service has no API, what should I do to get automatic notifications.
Is there any tools available that automatically notify you (by email or rss feed) of any change in a page by authentifying and checking if the value of a specific field changed?
Should I code my own script?
Is there any tool or library out there that could make this task easier?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Not sure if it works for secure websites, though.
I just found something interesting. It's called Scrapy. It's an application framework that makes data-mining and structured data extraction easier.
Has anyone experience with Scrapy? Could it solve my problem?
Im new to the realm of API and I was wondering do I need to paste the code as is or would I need to add javascript and interface to it myself? Im working with commission juntion datafeeds and developer key to make a website that is similar to www.directtextbooks.com
Below is the website link with the instructions that they provide
http://help.cj.com/en/web_services/Product_Catalog_Search_Service_v.2.htm
You can use the API to get data from cj, but the results of the data is for what ever you want to use it for.
Before you start working with API's you should look into programming applications.
