Result I'm trying to get is
for plantid = ? and wk between ? and ?
plantid = 1 and wk between 41 and 45
sum qty for table1 on plantID
sum wk for table2 on plantID and for weeks
sum qty on table with on plantID and for weeks
and some how link this with joins or subqueries to get
plantid Itemname qty num order
------------------------------------
1 car 15 9 12
1 truck 11 12 0
1 van 0 7 8
I can't seem to get the right outcome
I also considered putting in an itemNameID field in all tables
if that would make it easier
You can achieve what you want using this query:
SELECT table1.plantID, table1.ItemName, SUM(table1.qty), COALESCE(t2.num_sum, 0), COALESCE(t3.qty_sum, 0)
FROM table1
LEFT JOIN (SELECT plantid, itemname, SUM(num) AS num_sum
FROM table2
WHERE wk >= 41 AND wk <= 45
GROUP BY plantID, itemname) t2 ON table1.plantID = t2.plantID AND table1.ItemName = t2.ItemName
LEFT JOIN (SELECT plantid, itemname, SUM(qty) AS qty_sum
FROM table3
WHERE table3_wk >= 41 AND table3_wk <= 45
GROUP BY plantID, itemname) t3 ON table1.plantID = t3.plantID AND table1.ItemName = t3.ItemName
WHERE table1.plantid = 1
GROUP BY plantID, ItemName

Basically, you join 3 queries in order to get what you want.
That would be a bit cleaner if you respect a certain harmony with you column names.

I have a table as below in sqlite database. I want to create a line chart showing usage by product groups.
Table: ProductUsageData
UserID ProductName ProductGroup Qty RecordID
1 A1 A 12 1
2 A1 A 12 1
1 A2 A 15 1
3 A1 A 12 2
2 B1 B 12 2
5 B2 B 5 2
1 A1 A 12 3
1 A2 A 15 3
4 A1 A 12 3
3 C1 C 12 3
2 C2 C 15 3
Since I want separate line for each ProductGroup I am using below Query
SELECT
SUM(Qty) as UsedQty,
ProductGroup,
RecordID
FROM ProductUsageData
GROUP BY ProductGroup, RecordID
ORDER BY RecordID ASC;
While I get three records for A (for each RecordID) I get only 1 record each for B & C as they are not used during each RecordID.
Problem is when I am putting one line for each ProductGroup in the chart, the points for B & C are shown as per Qty in the first
My output is like this
A 39 1
A 12 2
B 17 2
A 39 3
C 27 3
So the graph looks like this
instead of
To fix this I changed the query using COALESCE to get 0 Qty if the ProductGroup is not used during each recording.
SELECT
COALESCE(SUM(Qty), 0) as UsedQty,
ProductGroup,
RecordID
FROM ProductUsageData
GROUP BY ProductGroup, RecordID
ORDER BY RecordID ASC;
I was expecting output as below
A 39 1
B 0 1
C 0 1
A 12 2
B 17 2
C 0 2
A 39 3
B 0 3
C 27 3
But I am getting same output as first
Please let me know how can I correct the query to get desired output
A typical solution is to first cross join two queries that select the distinct product groups and record ids from the table; this gives you all possible combinations of productGroup and recordID.
Then, you can bring in the original table with a left join, and aggregate:
select
g.productGroup,
coalesce(sum(p.qty), 0) qty,
r.recordID
from (select distinct productGroup from productUsageData) g
cross join (select distinct recordID from productUsageData) r
left join productUsageData p
on p.productGroup = g.productGroup
and p.recordID = r.recordID
group by r.recordID, g.productGroup
order by r.recordID, g.productGroup
In the real world, you might have separate referential tables for product groups and records ids, which would make the query simpler and more efficient (since it would avoid the need to select distinct in subqueries).
Demo on DB Fiddle:
productGroup | qty | recordID
:----------- | :-- | :-------
A | 39 | 1
B | 0 | 1
C | 0 | 1
A | 12 | 2
B | 17 | 2
C | 0 | 2
A | 39 | 3
B | 0 | 3
C | 27 | 3
I am dealing with a huge volume of traffic data. I want to identify the vehicles which have changed their lanes in MS Access database. I want to identify those records only which has changed the lane (immediate two records: before lane change and after lane change)
Traffic Data:
Vehicle_ID Lane_ID Frame_ID Distance
1 2 12 100
1 2 13 103
1 2 14 105
2 1 15 107
***2 1 16 130
2 2 17 135***
2 2 18 136
***3 1 19 140
3 2 20 141***
3 2 21 147
4 2 22 149
***4 2 23 151
4 1 24 154***
4 1 25 159
With assistance from here i have sorted out those Vehicle_ID which have changed their lanes:
SELECT t.Vehicle_ID, COUNT(t.Lane_ID) AS [Lane Count]
FROM (
SELECT DISTINCT Vehicle_ID, Lane_ID FROM Table1
) AS t
GROUP BY t.Vehicle_ID
HAVING COUNT(t.Lane_ID) > 1
Shown Result:
Vehicle_ID Lane Count
2 2
3 2
4 2
Now i want to do further analysis withe records of lane changing by segregating immediate two records: before and after lane change. My desired output would be:
Desired Result:
Vehicle_ID Lane_ID Frame_ID Distance
***2 1 16 130
2 2 17 135***
***3 1 19 140
3 2 20 141***
***4 2 23 151
4 1 24 154***
Assuming the frame ids have no gaps, you can do this using joins:
select t1.*
from (table1 as t1 inner join
table1 as t1prev
on t1prev.Vehicle_ID = t1.Vehicle_ID and
t1prev.frame_id = t1.frame_id - 1
) inner join
table1 as t1next
on t1next.Vehicle_ID = t1.Vehicle_ID and
t1next.frame_id = t1.frame_id + 1
where t1prev.lane_id <> t1.lane_id or
t1next.lane_id <> t1.lane_id;
Otherwise, this will be a very expensive query.
You can do it with EXISTS:
select t.* from Table1 t
where
exists (
select 1 from Table1
where
vehicle_id = t.vehicle_id
and
frame_id in (t.frame_id - 1, t.frame_id + 1)
and
lane_id <> t.lane_id
)
How can I select latest records in a a table with many-to-many relationship. The store_id,product_id is not a composite group key so they repeat many times.
id store_id product_id
1 1 1
2 2 1
3 1 1
4 3 1
5 2 1
6 3 1
The result should be like this:
id store_id product_id
3 1 1
5 2 1
6 3 1
For the sake of simplicity I only added 1 product but in the real case there are many products. So the result should be something like :
For each store_id show the latest added products_id.
e.g.
id store_id product_id
11 1 1
20 1 2
40 1 3
41 1 4
53 2 1
61 2 2
62 2 3
63 2 4
70 3 1
71 3 2
72 3 3
73 3 4
I don't see what this has to do with a pivot table. This seems like a basic aggregation:
select max(id) as id, store_id, product_id
from t
group by store_id, product_id
order by store_id, max(id);
I have 2 tables. One only with all periods. Second with Account, Amount and period.
I want to build a View that lists Amount kumulated, period and account. Also if I don't have an fact for a period in my table should be appear the period in my view with the last amount.
select distinct
account, b.periode,
SUM(amount) OVER (PARTITION BY account ORDER BY b.periode RANGE UNBOUNDED PRECEDING)
from
fakten a
full join
perioden b on a.periode = b.periode
order by b.periode
it like this:
1 1 6
2 1 4
1 2 13
2 2 3
NULL 3 NULL
1 4 46
2 5 48
NULL 6 NULL
NULL 7 NULL
1 8 147
NULL 9 NULL
NULL 10 NULL
NULL 11 NULL
NULL 12 NULL
I need it like:
1 1 6
2 1 4
1 2 13
2 2 3
1 3 13
2 3 3
1 4 46
2 4 3
1 5 46
2 5 48
1 6 46
2 6 46
and so one...
Any ideas?
full join is not the right approach. Instead, generate the rows you want using a cross join. Then use left join and group by to do the calculation.
select a.account, p.periode,
SUM(f.amount) OVER (PARTITION BY a.account ORDER BY p.periode)
from (select distinct account from fakten) a cross join -- you probably have an account table, use it
perioden p
on a.periode = p.periode left join
fakten f
on f.account = a.account and f.periode = p.periode
group by a.account, p.periode
order by a.account, p.periode;
I have two tables:
Routes
ID Description
1 street1
2 street2
3 street3
4 street4
5 street5
Segments
ID RouteID, Progres, LabelStart, LabelEnd
1 1 5 1 A 21 B
2 1 10 2 A 10
3 2 15 3 25
4 2 15 2 20
5 3 20 1 11
6 3 22 4 10
7 4 30 5 11
8 4 31 2 12
I need a sequence with these rules:
table must be ordered by Progress ASC
A column Type is defined and take O if LabelStart and LabelEnd are Odd, E if Even
if two routes have the same progress then the rows are merged in one where
LabelStart is the minimum (among LabelStart Odd and LabelStart Even)
and LabelEnd is the Max, in this case Type takes the value of A (All)
as per example data above the result should be
Sequence
ID RouteID, Progres, LabelStart, LabelEnd Type
1 1 5 1 A 21 B O
2 1 10 2 A 10 E
4 2 15 2 25 A
5 3 20 1 11 O
6 3 22 4 10 E
7 4 30 5 11 O
8 4 31 2 12 E
It is for Postgres 9.2
This was an interesting query to write because you had letters in your LabelStart and LabelEnd fields. I used REGEX_REPLACE to remove those. Then I used a CTE to get the records that had more than one routeid and progress rows.
I think this should do it:
WITH CTE AS (
SELECT
RouteId, Progress
FROM Sequence
GROUP BY RouteId, Progress
HAVING COUNT(DISTINCT Id) > 1
)
SELECT MAX(S.ID) Id,
T.RouteId,
T.Progress,
MIN(regexp_replace(LabelStart, '[^0-9]', '', 'g')) LabelStart,
MAX(regexp_replace(LabelStart, '[^0-9]', '', 'g')) LabelEnd,
'A' as Type
FROM Sequence S
INNER JOIN CTE T ON S.RouteId = T.RouteId AND S.Progress = T.Progress
GROUP BY T.RouteId, T.Progress
UNION
SELECT S.Id,
S.RouteId,
S.Progress,
S.LabelStart,
S.LabelEnd,
CASE
WHEN CAST(regexp_replace(LabelStart, '[^0-9]', '', 'g') as int) % 2 = 0
THEN 'E'
ELSE 'O'
END
FROM Sequence S
LEFT JOIN CTE T ON S.RouteId = T.RouteId AND S.Progress = T.Progress
WHERE T.RouteId IS NULL
ORDER BY Progress ASC
And some sample Fiddle.
