I am having trouble getting my application to reliably connect to a mirrored SQL Server 2008r2. I've created a tool to help diagnose the problem and found some interesting things.
The connection string I'm using is
Data Source=IADB01;Failover Partner=IBDB01;Database=XXX;
Integrated Security=SSPI;Connection Timeout=150;Pooling=false;
It seems to be the non-pooled connection string. If I leave pooling on, I got no problems at all and I can generate several hundred connections a second with no problems. But this causes problems with the automatic failover. With pooling turned off, I get between 0 and 100 or so successful connections and then a long delay before finally this SqlException:

I'm can't figure out this as I don't know why the exception is Login failed. If I start connecting again, I get anywhere between 0 and roughly 100 or so successful connections before the Login Failed again. I can't see any pattern as to how many successful connections I get before the failure either, but it's usually only 5-10 successes though. We've shifted the client to be on the same network switch as the database server to avoid problems with firewalls etc and it hasn't changed anything. The DC is on the same switch too.
The successful connections are taking less than a second. When the a connection fails it only does so after at least 5 seconds sometimes up to 20 seconds. I'm convinced the problem is somewhere else, but I need ideas as to where to look.
I can see in the event logs SQL Server making it's calls, but the entries are always the same. When the failure happens I've got the same set of calls in the event logs. I want to use a profiler on SQL Server to see but as yet I haven't been able to due to not having sysadmin.
So, as far as the stack trace goes, it looks like it's made it as far as methods Run and TryRun. How should I interpret this? The connection has actually been established but then the command is failing? Thanks for the help. I can post more if needed.
Sorted. This is a known problem caused by TCP Chimney Offloading. The solution is to turn off the offloading.

The SqlServerDbContextOptionsExtensions.UseSqlServer Method is used to configure the context to connect to a Microsoft SQL Server database, instead of MySQL database.
To connect with MySQL Database, you could install the MySql.Data package, then, use the MySqlConnection() method to open a connection to a MySQL Server database.

I created several users for Azure SQL using the free acccount in a database in Azure Data Studio following the recommended procedure:
add client ip addresses to firewall
create login on the master database
create users
add appropriate roles that at least encompass db_accessadmin
Despite this, my attempts to login with Azure Data Studio and SSMS continue to fail unless I use the admin account created on setup. The only eror information is:

I am trying to connect from my ip address and even added my ip address to the database firewall. Am I missing something?

Well, after some head scratching, I found SSMS. It works like a charm using the same commands. Not sure but the default commands had an N before the roles and role user. It also switched FROM LOGIN to FOR LOGIN I just have up on Azure Data Studio for a while though.
The issue was you accidentally used FOR instead of From. Most of the documentation I have seen show that it shouldn't matter. The only thing I could think of is that if you got the remarks section

The example explicitly uses from, then there are other references From external providers. I wonder if there is something that maybe AD wants the From.

I am currently setting up an Azure portal using a free account which I am currently on a Premium 2 trial for Active Directory. Originally I was able to access the database using the credentials of a user called JP01. This user is part of a Database Admin group which was assigned to a sql server as an AAD Admin. This all works fine.
However, I also added a Conditional Access Policy to whoever accesses Azure Sql Database must also perform MFA and receive grant access. For the most part this all works. I try to login, it denies me, sends me to a login page which calls my authenticator app and I am able to approve it. The problem is even after I authenticate, I am still denied access.
My intent is to use not MSI but simply a connection string using AD Password Auth:

I have a windows forms application which makes use of the local database (Service Database) ".mdf" file. I am able to connect to this database using the connection string below from the development machine.

I am trying to publish the application now. When i attempt to install the application on a different machine. The application throws an error as shown below.

This error occurs only when i try to install in a different machine. I am not sure what I am missing?
We have deployed a winforms app which allows the user to connect to either localdb / sql express, or a full version of sql server. If the choose localdb we have been using this connection string:
Data Source=(localdb)\v11.0;AttachDbFileName="C:\localdbfilename.mdf";Integrated Security=True;Connect Timeout=15;Encrypt=False;TrustServerCertificate=False;

I am not sure what this means as the webconfig is present and I verified the connection strings are correct. I even pointed my dev environment at the DB to validate it is right. I am using the VS web publish feature. It looks like all files are installed to the right directory and in IIS the site is up.
Your error states it is using named pipes, named pipes is used when doing IPC (Inter Process Communication), set your SQL SERVER up for TCP/IP and make sure you have a connection string that works with that configuration.
You should check the DbContext and change DefaultConnection from name of conection you use.
