onkeyup event in Safari on IOS7 from a bluetooth keyboard - safari

I have the following setup:
Bluetooth scanner
iPad
Webpage with a textfield for scan input
Usage:
User focus textfield and scan barcode with bluetooth scanner
Scanner adds ENTER (13) at the end of the scan
Problem:
On Safari in IOS7 there seems to be a change on how keyboard events are handled on bluetooth devices.
The code ...
window.onkeyup = function (e) {
console.log(e.KeyboardEvent)
}
... should return information about the key pressed. Instead i get ...
keyCode: 0
keyIdentifier: "Unidentified"
... no matter which key I press.
Same result booth form bluetooth scanner and bluetooth keyboard.
Thanks / E

Seems that "onkeypress" works as expected though.
Since this was a problem a bumbed in to in a Sencha Touch project and Sencha Touch doesn't have a keypress event on textfields I'm posting the code that solved my problem.
{
xtype:'searchfield',
name:'search',
placeHolder:'search',
listeners: {
painted: {
fn: function () {
var me = this;
me.element.dom.onkeypress = function (e) {
if (e.keyCode === 13) {
me.fireEvent('searchkeypress', me, e);
}
};
}
}
}
}

I faced a similar problem #EmilPennlov. I was able to solve this by using a $watch on the input field. Worked like a charm.

Detect focus of window in Adobe AIR

I have been building an app in Adobe AIR using HTML/JavaScript.
The windows are all Chromeless and use CSS to style them to look like an application.
How can I detect if the window is focused by the user so I can alter the colours of the windows in the same way that native windows have more subtle shadows etc.
An example might be:
var active = false;
$(document).ready(function() {
active = nativeWindow.active;
if(active) {
$('body').addClass('active');
} else {
$('body').removeClass('active');
}
});
But how do I properly handle the change of active event?
You can do this with: air.NativeWindow.active. See: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/reference/html/flash/display/NativeWindow.html#active
UPDATE:
window.nativeWindow.addEventListener(air.Event.ACTIVATE, function() {
$('body').addClass('active');
});
window.nativeWindow.addEventListener(air.Event.DEACTIVATE, function() {
$('body').removeClass('active');
});

win8 enable backspace to navigate back

I am working on a Windows Store app. I want to enable "backspace key to navigate back" feature in my app, just like what the native apps do (Travel, News and etc.) Any idea about how to implement this? Should I have a listener capturing all keyboard inputs?
Listen for the KeyUp event. If you use one of the standard template, the the main Grid is a good place to attach the handler.
if (e.Key == Windows.System.VirtualKey.Back)
{
GoBack(sender, e);
}
This is my implementation, which works well!
if (e.Key == Windows.System.VirtualKey.Back && !e.OriginalSource.GetType().Equals(typeof(TextBox)))
{
GoBack(sender, e);
}

Video.js : show big play button at the end

I would like to show the big play button at the end of the video, so user can replay it easily.
It seems that this big play button is shown by default (every posts I read are for hidding it instead of showing it...), but it is not the case for me...
I have tried to edit the following function (in video.dev.js file) but nothing has changed :
vjs.Player.prototype.onEnded = function(){
if (this.options_['loop']) {
this.currentTime(0);
this.play();
}
else { // I am not using loop mode
this.bigPlayButton.show();
this.pause();
}
};
Thanks for your responses.
There are a few ways you can do this. You can show the button when the video ends with the API:
videojs("myPlayer").ready(function(){
var myPlayer = this;
myPlayer.on("ended", function(){
myPlayer.bigPlayButton.show();
});
});
Or if you do want to modify video.dev.js you just need to uncomment the line that does the same thing:
vjs.BigPlayButton = vjs.Button.extend({
/** #constructor */
init: function(player, options){
vjs.Button.call(this, player, options);
if (!player.controls()) {
this.hide();
}
player.on('play', vjs.bind(this, this.hide));
// player.on('ended', vjs.bind(this, this.show)); // uncomment this
}
});
Or with CSS you could force the button to be showed whenever the video is not playing (ended or paused):
.video-js.vjs-default-skin.vjs-paused .vjs-big-play-button {display:block !important;}
The posts you've seen about hiding it probably refer to version 3 of video.js, as with that the play button was shown at the end.
Place this code after the videojs code. Works great. It not only shows the poster and the big play button, but also allows you to re-play the video again and again:
<script type="text/javascript">
var vid = videojs("YOUR-VIDEO-ID");
vid.on("ended", function()
{
vid.posterImage.show(); //shows your poster image//
vid.currentTime(0);
vid.controlBar.hide(); //hides your controls//
vid.bigPlayButton.show(); //shows your play button//
vid.cancelFullScreen(); //cancels your fullscreen//
document.mozCancelFullScreen(); //cancels your fullscreen in firefox//
});
vid.on("play", function() //function to play the video again//
{
vid.posterImage.hide(); //hides your poster//
vid.controlBar.show(); //shows your controls//
vid.bigPlayButton.hide(); //hides your play button//
});
</script>
The only thing I can't get to work is the exit fullscreen with firefox... But I don't know what else to do.
I don't know why but I cant get the answers mentioned here to work, maybe it's because I am on a newer version of the player, so doing things like vid.posterImage.show() is not doing anything for me.
On version 5.19.2 (current release), I was able to reset the player to it's default state (before the play button is pressed by the first time) by setting hasStarted to false on the event listener "ended".
example:
var player = videojs('player');
player.on("ended",function(){
player.hasStarted(false);
});
That brings back the big button, the poster, and hides the controls.
I created this plugin to "reset" the player and show the big play button and the video's poster

Double click on buttons inside the app could provide UI corruptions

Double clicking fast on a button in Sencha Touch 2 when having a navigation view will on some Android device push the new view twice on the view stack, how to solve it? Doesnt happen on iPhone
If you're having problems with the single click, then wrap the event function in a delayed task... for instance:
tap: function(button, e, eOpts) {
if(this.delayedTask == null){
this.delayedTask = Ext.create('Ext.util.DelayedTask', function() {
this.myFunctionToCall();
this.delayedTask = null;
}, this);
this.delayedTask.delay(500);
}
}
So in the example above, if another tap is registered and this.delayedTask has yet to be null, then it will not create the new delayed task which ultimately calls whatever function you need after 500 miliseconds... hope this makes sense, it's also a way to create double tap events on buttons...
This issue is a bit old but I was facing the same issue in the app I'm working on in my company. This is especially frustrating when buttons are bound to an Ajax call.
I took back Jeff Wooden's solution to override every button in my app :
Ext.define('MyApp.override.CustomButton', {
override : 'Ext.Button',
doTap: function(me, e) {
if(this.delayedTask == null){
this.callOverridden(arguments);
this.delayedTask = Ext.create('Ext.util.DelayedTask', function() {
this.delayedTask = null;
}, this);
this.delayedTask.delay(500);
} else {
console.log("Preventing double tap");
}
}
});
How does it works?
Each button action will trigger a delayedTask which will intercept button action for 500 ms, therefore preventing doubletap
This will work for 'tap' and 'handler:', which both pass through 'doTap' method
this is linked to the current button so it won't reverberate on other buttons
To use it simply add it in your app.js 'requires' block
Ext.application({
requires: [
...
'MyApp.override.CustomButton',
...
],

Play and pause functions works only once

I'm viewing the live streams using the flash player. while i'm doing that i have tried to play and pause the streams using the following function but it is only works for only one click. if i'm re-clicking it does not shows any changes. If you realize my problem. please suggest me.
function testPause(event:MouseEvent) {
nsPlay.pause();
}
function testPlay(event:MouseEvent) {
if(!bolLoaded) {
nsPlay.play(streamValue);
bolLoaded = true;
} else {
nsPlay.resume();
}
}
Make Boolean variable value FALSE in pause state.
bolLoaded = false;
