I have a process data defined in Adobe livecycle, addField as a string. I am passing the value of this variable as an input when i invoke a process. Further i want to compare the value of this process data if it is true or false. I am trying to use the following expression:
string(/process_data/#addField)=string("true")
but i am not getting the value out of the expression. Is the above expression true? If not what is used to get the value of the process data?
I believe your XPath expression is wrong. I just did a quick mock-up in workbench and I got the correct response. Here are the details of what I did:
Created an input string variable i workbench called addField.
Created a two step process. The first step has two routes going out to two different set values.
On one of the routes, I added the following condition:
/process_data/#addField = "true"
Turned on recording, and invoked the process.
In the input parameters screen in workbench, I added the following text: true
In the recording, I can see the expression evaluating correctly and going to the correct set value.
Do let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Armaghan.

I am trying to add a formal parameter in the FORM and PERFORM in an existing code, as I will be need it the extra parameter in a new function that I have to call. The idea is that when executing the new code it keeps showing the error: Different parameter count in FORM and PERFORM (routine: CM_SHOW_CRC, number of formal parameters: 2, number of actual parameters: 3).
The code that I have for the form part is as follows:
FORM cm_show_crc
USING
civ_matnr TYPE matnr
civ_charg TYPE charg_d
civ_werks TYPE werks_d. "The parameter that I added
And the perform code is:
PERFORM cm_show_crc
USING
pis_sdow_alv-matnr
pis_sdow_alv-charg
pis_sdow_alv-werks. "The parameter that I added
The table pis_sdow_alv is type of a structure that also includes the variable WERK(Component type WERKS_D)
Before adding the new parameter WERK the code was working fine.
May anyone know what the problem in this part of the code may be?
There was also another similar question in: Different number of parameters in FORM and PERFORM, however I am not using the syntax CHANGING in my code, as it was also not used prior.
Please do tell me if you need additional information.
Thank you all in advance!
This problem can occur when FORM and PERFORM are in different includes and you only activate one but not the other.
When you activate an include, then it is checked against the active version of all other repository objects it depends on. Not the saved version. This can lead to an annoying catch-22 situation. You can not activate A because it does not match the previous version of B, and you can not activate B because it does not match the previous version of A.
The solution to this conundrum is to activate both objects together. When you activate something in SE80 and you have multiple inactive objects, you get a window where you can select multiple objects to activate together:
In Eclipse, you get a similar list by clicking on the "activate multiple" button:
I am doing a simulation of a production line, which is built through Excel.
Now there is one, which needs free setting of worker shifts for each machine, three shifts in total.
My idea is to create three different Schedules, representing each of the three shifts, and then in the ResourcePool, use the If statement to set up the use of each shift. As shown in the picture enter image description here
But it didn't work. If it is possable, Could you please tell me if there is something wrong with the Java statement or the idea is wrong.
If possible, could you please tell me how to set multiple schedules in ResourcePool?
Additions to the question:
The model is to do the evaluation of the production system and the shift of the workers is an important evaluation parameter. What I want to do is to enter the shift of the workers directly in the Excel sheet and ResourcePool recognizes and uses the corresponding Schedule.
I tried to generate the corresponding Schedule by code, but the Schedule of Resourcepool cannot be set dynamically. So I would like to try to manually input multiple Schedules into the model and then set the corresponding Schedule in ResourcePool by If statement like the image.
Thanks in advance
The first thing you need to know is that the location where you placed the code is a static parameter, thus it is only evaluated once, when the object is created and not checked continuously.
This is indicated by the little popup when you hover over the button that change the entry field from code to value
If it was dynamic it would state Dynamic Value instead of Static Value
Secondly, inside that field you must use a ternary operator, not an if statement, so that the result of the formula is a scheduled object, else you will get a "misplaced construct(s)" error
If you changed the code to
v_Shift == "Shift1" ?
s_Shift1 : v_Shift == "Shift2" ? s_Shift2 : s_Shift3
It will work BUT:
It will only be evaluated when the object is created and not again
Rather not use == on Strings, always use .equals(), on Strings it might work, and sometimes it might not. You can do some research as to why ;-)
Solution: You will have to use a function to change the schedule of the resource pool. Call this function whenever the v_Shift variable changes
I am currently working on a Testing Automation team, using Python and Allure to make reports of all the test cases that we run. Sometimes we deal with sensible data (e.g: passwords) that I can't show on the reports. If I use a function with a step decorator, something like this:
Which takes an element (a text box) and enters the value in it. In the step function I display the value that I want to enter, I could easily change that but the problem resides in the actual report. No matter what I enter on the step title, the report always shows the info that was passed as arguments to the function:
Thus, the "value" argument will always be displayed and that is something that I cannot have on certain projects. Is there anyway to make a custom step function that solves my problem?. I could either use with not showing the value at all or to change it to something like '*****'.
Just a thought.
#allure.step("Entering a value in element {3}")
def setSecureBoxValue(driver, element, value, box_name):
I solved my problem with the use of Fernet cryptography library.
I created a new function for the sensible data that encrypts the strings and then, inside this new function I call the one I shared on the screenshot (with a slight modification to decrypt the data). This results in the following report:
Using Pentaho PDI 8.3.0
I am unable to use a parameter in a REST call within a transformation. What I've done is:
Create a transformation and given it a parameter called PAGE_NR with default value 1
Create a job
Call the transformation with parameter PAGE_NR = 1
In the transformation, set up a GET request to a REST API.
In the URL field, setup the call like http://myurl.com/foo/bar?page=${PAGE_NR}
When I call this from either SoapUI or a browser it works but it always breaks when running the job. It does not seem to translate this parameter into the value, but instead passes it exactly like mentioned above.
I need this parameter because of calling the same URL but with different results. I don't know the amount of pages up front but take care of that logic later in said transformation.
Working on Linux btw. I have tried different variations of calling the parameter but nothing seems to work.
With the information given in the comments, I am willing to make an educated guess:
The REST Client step does not perform variable substitution on the URL if it comes from a field in the stream. What you can do is insert a Calculator step before the REST step with the operation "Variable substitution on string A" with your URL field as Field A.
This should give you the desired URL with page number.

When I use my variable created in Regular Expression Extractor I cannot use it in Random Variable as Maximum Value
Long description:
My test structure:
I have variable my_test what is crated in Regular Expression Extractor
request: GET //echo.getpostman.com/get?test=123
regex:
Then I want it use as Maximum Value in Regular Expression Extractor
So finally I can make request:
//echo.getpostman.com/get?test=${rand}
Unfortunately I get error from Random Variable
2016/10/07 07:52:41 ERROR - jmeter.config.RandomVariableConfig: maximum(${my_test}) must be > minimum1)
Why my_test is not evaluated?
I have tried ${__javaScript(parseInt('${my_test}'))} but it looks like it is evaluated before my variable initialization
2016/10/07 08:06:01 ERROR - jmeter.config.RandomVariableConfig: maximum(NaN) must be > minimum1)
If I initialize this variable in Test Plan in User Defined Variables value from that setting will be used - not updated by regex.
I know that I can do //echo.getpostman.com/get?test=${__Random(0,${my_test})}
I'm just curious how pass my variable as value for Maximum Value in Regular Expression Extractor.
Random Variable is a Config Element and it will be executed first before any other components get executed first.
4.9 Execution order
Configuration elements
Pre-Processors
Timers
Sampler
Post-Processors (unless SampleResult is null)
Assertions (unless SampleResult is null)
Listeners (unless SampleResult is null)
If two or more Config elements present in the Test Plan, then they will be executed in the order they appear in the Test Plan.
Check the execution order and Scope here:
Refer 4.9 7 4.10 here Execution Order and Scope Rules
So, first Random Variable is evaluated first and then Sampler and then regular expression extractor.
When you used User Defined Variables, which is another Config Element, and probably you put it before Random Variable, so it evaluated the expression as you already defined the value for "my_test". But it won't override the value you captured in Regular Expression Extractor.
To solve your problem (one probable solution):
you can use different thread groups. In first thread group, you capture the value and in second thread group, you use the value.
Run Thread Groups consecutively.
Use BeanShell Assertion to capture the value by setProperty. (in first thread group)
Use value using __property() (in thread group)
https://www.blazemeter.com/blog/knit-one-pearl-two-how-use-variables-different-thread-groups
It seems that Random Variable element does not evaluate variables, maybe it worth creating an issue in JMeter Issue Tracker
As a workaround you can substitute it with __Random() function directly where required like:
${__Random(1,${my_test},)} - if you need the value right away, directly in you URL:
//echo.getpostman.com/get?test=${__Random(1,${my_test},)}
${__Random(1,${my_test},rand)} - if if you need to store the value into ${rand} variable as well

I think it's valid for me to comment on a problem I had, I set the random variable and it didn't work at all, I did everything I could to try to solve it.
In the end my problem was a space at the beginning of the variable.
One possibility is you can use a Beanshell Postprocessor to write the RegEx value to the variable name.
After that you can use it as ${variable_name}
NB: Beanshell function vars.get can be used for getting regex value and vars.put can be used for putting it into your variable.
