Hi i'm trying to host an mvc4 web application on a web server and it is not working. Do i need to install something in particular so that it works? And what type of web server is the best for this type of situation?
You will need:
IIS, preferably IIS 7+
.Net installed on the server
make sure the framework is set correctly

if you have all this set up, let us know the error you are seeing.
1)IIS 7.5
2) MVC4 and Framework 4.5 should be installed
3) Also check that in ApplicationPools you set framawork 4.0 for your site (default is 2.0)
It would be better if you show a certain error you receive.

I want to host single file asp.net core 5 blazor - published with produce single file - with iis? When I do that , IIS in windows server 2016 returns status code 500 that indicates internal server error.
Single-file deployments are not supported in IIS, This is a known limitation of in-process hosting at least in .Net 5.

I wanted to host my .net core API in Go Daddy Linux Server and also .net Core Web APP is there any possibility to do that. Also I have seen lots of tutorials to make that happen in Linux server which is for cloud but doesnt work the same scenario for any another on premises server.
If anyone have this experience or can only suggest that if there is possibility for hosting in the go daddy linux server it will be really helpful
It seems that you need to ask them whether they have support .net core on their Linux hosting package. I ever worked with them in the past 8 years ago, I didn't like their support, but I don't know now, maybe they improve better. If you want to use .net core on Linux, Digital Ocean can be good option. I also .net user here but I always use Windows to deploy my .net. From Classic ASP until newest .net core project, I always use Windows Server.
I know how to install and setup nopCommerce.
However this is specific to hosting it on Godaddy Windows Plesk account, I have searched, looked and read many threads, documents on nopCommerce 4.0 and hosting it or installing it. However I am unable to successfully install nopCommerce 4.0 on Godaddy Windows Plesk (not VPS) Hosting.
I get 500 internal server error, looks like .NET Core is not supported on Windows Plesk hosting on Godaddy, on VPS hosting it works.
So is any one able to successfully do it on Plesk?

You will need .net framework 4.61+ and .net core 2.0+ runtime to successfully run nopCommerce 4.0.
And as mentioned by you
GoDaddy with Plesk does not support .NET Core yet.

In .net core, iis is not really used as a web service, its just use to point users to application. Application is a exe file so actually windows will run it, so i dont think that its a issue of plex or something like that.
I hade same error for nop4 on vps, but i cant tell you any advice if you don't check logs.
Try see the logs,application set logs automatically as a text file.
You may solve when check that file or create another question so we can help you and others who had the same error
I am going to deploy my application tomorrow ,so i have few questions.I want to deploy asp.net mvc4 application on 2003 server where .net framework 4.0 is installed.My question is do i need to install asp.net mvc4 also there.Or if i copy the dll responsible for mvc in to that system is sufficient?
another question is i am using entityframework and oracle database so using ODP.NET, if this is the case do i need to install ODP.NET over there or just copying DLL system.dataaccess dll is sufficient?

today i tried and unfortunately i came to know that the framework which i was running .net 4.5 will not be supported in 2003.I made my project in to .net 4.0 and everything working fine in local system,but remote system lot of errors are coming.Method not found etc. I came to know that i have to degrade EF 5.0 to 4.4 i did it like replaced dll and changed one line begin with section but no luck as of now.I have to change somewhere else also.Do you know any proper mechanism which i need to carry forward for this?
No need to install anything explicitly except .Net 4.0. All you need is make sure that all dependencies (assemblies) of your application i.e. MVC, ODP.Net etc are present in bin directory of your application. Also make sure that ASP.Net v4.0 Web service extension is enabled in IIS.
Steps to enable web service extension.
Open IIS 6.0 Manager
Click Web Service Extensions
Enable ASP.NET 4.0

I'm trying to setup a prototype with an mvc 6 project and application insights. When selecting to monitor an mvc 6 website in IIS 7, it says it is monitoring but no server statistics are being sent to Azure. When I monitor any other sites on that server it works correctly. So my question is, does application insights support .Net 5 and MVC 6 running in IIS?
In the website I have installed Application Insights using the snippet of javascript provided by Microsoft Application Insights. This is working correctly and sending data to Azure.
The website is on a local Windows 2012 server. I have installed the Application Insights Status Monitor on the server and I have it pointed to the mvc 6 website. This part is not working. When I point the Server Tool to a site on the local server running a .Net 4.5 website it does submit the data correctly to Azure.
I did not add the AI part via nuget package because I am not submitting any custom alerts to Applications Insight. Right now I am just looking to get the server statistics. IE Memory, Processor usage, etc.
Asp.net vnext is not currently supported. But there are plans to support it in the near future.
