I'm writing some javascript for a Windows 8 app. I'm trying to render a drawing to a canvas element that is a child of a dynamically created document.
I've got this function returning a new document:
initPrintDoc: function () {
var emptyDoc = document.implementation.createDocument('http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml', 'html', null),
emptyBody = document.createElement('body'),
emptyCanvas = document.createElement('canvas'),
debugDiv = document.createElement('div'),
debugMsg = document.createTextNode("[PRINT] : This is a test print source.");
//Initialize attributes for elements
emptyBody.setAttribute('id', 'pdf-container');
emptyCanvas.setAttribute('id', 'render-output');
debugDiv.setAttribute('id', 'debug-output');
debugDiv.appendChild(debugMsg);
emptyBody.appendChild(debugDiv);
emptyBody.appendChild(emptyCanvas);
emptyDoc.documentElement.appendChild(emptyBody);
return emptyDoc;
},
The returned document object is not the document object that is displayed in the Windows 8 App UI at runtime. I am using this dynamically created document as the parameter for the MSApp.getHtmlPrintDocumentSource(). Unfortunately, no matter what I do to the canvas element that is inside this document, the canvas never shows a rendering in the actual printout, nor in the simple preview window found in the charms bar after clicking a selected printer.
My question is: does a canvas element require its container document to be displayed in the browser window? Can you manipulate a canvas element in a dynamically created document, and expect those manipulations to show when you display that document?

How to access/Find elements not read by FLAUI using UIA2 or UIA3?
since FLAUIInspect does not show up any of the available element under the window (while inspect.exe shows all available elements) FindAll (Children/Descendants) will not give any element.
is there a wat to get these elements using FLAUI??
First, you have to access the element you need to see. On your case, the ""pane it's a Control Type Panel inside the main window, so you gonna have to do something like this:
var automation = new UIA3Automation();
var app = FlaUI.Core.Application.Attach(application.Process.Id); //Here you can attach or start a application by path
var window = app.GetMainWindow(automation); //Get hold of the window
var allObj = window.FindAllChildren();
var panel = allObj.Where(x => x.AutomationId == "16386096").FirstOrDefault().FindAllChildren(); //Here you can use other property unique to the panel, I used the AutomationId for example
After you get hold of the panel, you can now find all the children objects.emphasized text
You need to expose the AutomationPeer for that element which is not being found by FlaUI
I have an Image in a grid where I display some custom content by setting the Image's source to a WritableBitmap and updating the bitmap. What I want to do is to implement a "detach" button that will put my Image on a separate window allowing the user to move it to a different screen, resize it etc. independent of my main app window. If the new window is closed, I would like to bring it back to its original spot. While the Image is on the new window, I want to continuously update it with new content via updating source bitmap (as it would have been before it was detached).
I initially thought I would be able to create a new window and "move" my Image control there by first removing it from its original parent then adding it as a child to a layout in the new window. I used the code below:
CoreApplicationView^ newCoreView = CoreApplication::CreateNewView();
int mainViewId = Windows::UI::ViewManagement::ApplicationView::GetApplicationViewIdForWindow(
CoreApplication::MainView->CoreWindow);
uint indexOfObjectToDetach = -1;
bool found = originalGrid->Children->IndexOf(imageToMove, &indexOfObjectToDetach);
if(found)
{
myGrid->Children->RemoveAt(indexOfObjectToDetach);
}
DispatchedHandler^ dispatchHandler = ref new DispatchedHandler([this, mainViewId]()
{
newView_ = Windows::UI::ViewManagement::ApplicationView::GetForCurrentView();
Windows::UI::Xaml::Controls::StackPanel^ newWindowGrid = ref new Windows::UI::Xaml::Controls::StackPanel();
Window::Current->Content = newWindowGrid;
Window::Current->Activate();
newWindowGrid->Children->Append(imageToMove); // Add to new parent
});
create_task(newCoreView->Dispatcher->RunAsync(Windows::UI::Core::CoreDispatcherPriority::Normal, dispatchHandler)).then([this, mainViewId]()
{
auto a = newView_->Id;
create_task(ApplicationViewSwitcher::TryShowAsStandaloneAsync(a, ViewSizePreference::Default, mainViewId, ViewSizePreference::Default));
});
However in the line where I add the Image to its new parent, I get an Interface was marshalled for a different thread error. Upon more reading, this is due to the fact that each new window is in its own thread and I'm moving an object to another thread.
I am new to UWP and I am not sure how to approach implementing this UI behavior. How do I access/transfer my state in one view to another ?
The problem is indeed the fact that each application view in UWP has its own thread and its own UI dispatcher. When you create a control, it is tied to the UI thread it was created on, hence you cannot place it onto another application view.
The solution is to create the new Image next to the StackPanel within the new view's UI thread. I don't really use C++, but in C# I would implement it as follows:
await newCoreView.Dispatcher.RunAsync(CoreDispatcherPriority.Normal, () =>
{
StackPanel panel = new StackPanel();
Image image = new Image();
panel.Children.Add( panel );
image.Source = ...; //your source
Window.Current.Content = frame;
Window.Current.Activate();
newViewId = ApplicationView.GetForCurrentView().Id;
});
To further clarify - you can safely "transfer" normal data types into other view, the problem is mainly with the UI-tied types like controls, pages, etc.
I am new to HTAs. I just read https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms536496%28v=vs.85%29.aspx and am a bit confused.
Can I use HTAs to automate browsing? Say I want to download a web page and fill in a form automatically, i.e. from a script. How would an HTA help me do this, if at all? It's important that the JavaScript code in the downloaded page is run as usual. I should be able to enter somehow and fill in the form after it has finished initializing, just as if I were a human agent.
First, you need to open an IE window, as follows:
var IE = new ActiveXObject("InternetExplorer.Application");
Then navigate the IE window to the webpage you want:
IE.Navigate("www.example.com");
Wether your IE window is visible or invisible, it's up to you. Use Visible property to make it visible:
IE.Visible = true;
Then, you should wait until the webpage is completely loaded and then run a function that takes your desired actions. To do so, first, get the HTML document object from the webpage using Document property of IE object, then repeatedly check the readyState property of document object. In the code below, it is assumed that you have a function named myFunc, which takes your desired actions on the webpage. (For example, modifying the contents of the webpage.)
var doc = IE.Document;
interval = setInterval(function() {
try
{
if (doc.readyState == "complete")
{
myFunc();
clearInterval(interval);
}
}
catch (e) {}
}, 1000);
In the function myFunc, you can do anything you want with the webpage since you have HTML document object stored in doc variable. You can also use parentWindow property to get the HTML window object.
Hi In CRM2011 I created custom button in form. On click of that button it opens javascript modal dialog. This modal dialog calls html where silverlight app is embedded. So my question i s how can I get following information. If silverlight app is in form we may easily get following values but my silver light app opens in modal dialog.
var xrmProperty = (ScriptObject)HtmlPage.Window.GetProperty("Xrm");
You want to talk to the opener. For example, in JavaScript you'd call:
window.opener.Xrm.Page.getAttribute('cei_name').getValue()
to get the value of the "cei_name" attribute on the form.
Try Following code
dynamic xrmnew = (ScriptObject)HtmlPage.Window.GetProperty("Xrm");
if (xrmnew == null)
{
HtmlWindow parentWindow = HtmlPage.Window.GetProperty("parent") as HtmlWindow;
xrmnew = (ScriptObject)parentWindow.GetProperty("Xrm");
}
Guid Id = new Guid(xrmnew.Page.data.entity.getId());
I'm loading dynamic pages into Html id using load() function. So i want to destroy/clear/fly all Elements(including javascript objects) which are loaded previously into the Html id After destroy the previous loaded elements then new content should be load in to Html id. I'm rendering Extjs form panels and popup in each pages.When i'm trying to load same page again popups are not displaying because previous elements not destroying. Whts the wrong with my approch.
var content_div = Ext.get(div_id);
content_div.load({
url:BASE_URL+url_href,
scripts:true,
text: 'Loading...',
params:{id:'123'}
});
content_div.show();
Any ideas?
Try the following:
var content_div = Ext.get(div_id);
content_div.update("");
content_div.load({
url:BASE_URL+url_href,
scripts:true,
text: 'Loading...',
params:{id:'123'}
});
content_div.show();
