The below error occurs often. I wonder if anyone has ever experienced this or what would be the reason?
I use Entity Framework 4.0 and. NET 4.0 and Visual Studio 2010 and Windows Azure SDK 1.7 and 2.0.
Below is the connection string:

Step 1: Simplify your connection string. Ours looks like this:
<add name="[CONTEXTNAME]"
providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"
connectionString="
Server=tcp:[SERVER].database.windows.net,1433;
Database=[DATABASE];
User ID=[USER]#[SERVER];
Password=[PASSWORD];
Trusted_Connection=False;
Encrypt=True;
Connection Timeout=30;"/>
So looking at your connection string, I would try something like:
<add name="MyEntities"
providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"
connectionString="
metadata=res://*/Model.ModelMy.csdl|res://*/Model.ModelMy.ssdl|res://*/Model.ModelMy.msl;
Server=myserver.database.windows.net;
Database=MyDatabase;
User id=myUser#myserver;
Password=myPassword;
Multipleactiveresultsets=True;
Trusted_Connection=False;
Encrypt=True;
Connection Timeout=30;
App=EntityFramework;" />
Step 2: It looks like you "User id" is missing the server name. It needs to be myUser#myServer. Try adding that back in.
Step 3: Probably not critical, but you're missing the ",1433" from the server address

That first error basically means that you have tried publishing multiple different protocols in the same App Pool. You need to have separate IIS App pools for the different protocols.
Also make sure that the Application Pool is running with the Isolated Host user.
I have a project with several WCF services (mix of REST and SOAP). The project has been running On-Prem for 6 months without an issue. We are moving this to Azure but have run into an issue that will prevent us from going live.
The project uses Autofac for it's IOC. We are gonig to host this in a Cloud Service in Azure. Everything appears to work correctly when running locally in the Azure Emulator however once we deploy using the Cloud Service project, everything builds and deploys correctly, but we receive the following error when trying to access a service.

It appears that it's having an issue with the service configuration endpoint. That is registered through Autofac WCF integration using the OOTB RouteTable here:
RouteTable.Routes.Add(new ServiceRoute("Event/Calendar", new AutofacWebServiceHostFactory(), typeof(CalendarSvc)));
All of this works fine in IIS and the local Azure emulator, but once deployed to the cloud service is where we get an issue.
Observed exactly problem. Solved by canceling IntelliTrace on this hosted service.
I did publishing from VS2013 and marked "Enable IntelliTrace" during publishing. Once I canceled this option and re-publish - all works properly....
I keep getting the following error when trying to access a particular webpage.
It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.
When I go into IIS and configure the directory as an application, as the error states I should do, the page seems to await a response, and shows a blank white page, for about 1-2 minutes, then I get the following error:

The SQL Server is up and is accessible to all other pages on the site. I have been trying to troubleshoot this error for many hours a day for about a week now with no success. I am new to IIS, and I cannot think of other things to try at this point. I was wondering if someone can help me identify the cause of this error. This particular page was loading and working fine about 2 weeks ago.
It looks like that what ever you are doing on that page can't access to SQL Server.
How do you connect to database ? Using Windows Authentication or using SQL Server Login ? Do you use impersonation in IIS ? I would guess for example, you are tying to run some SP and this user doesn't have permission to run SP.
Can you check Database Connection accessibility (and availability) using database connection manager in IIS ? This IIS help shows how to do that.
You should definitely leave the virtual directory as an application.
The SQL error is likely something wrong with the connection string.
You said that other pages work...Is there a standard way that all your pages connect to SQL? Do they all take the connection string from the web.config? Or is it hard coded on the page?
I am developing ASP.NET MVC4 application with Entity Framework 5, and I am using Model First mode.
However Simple Membership will throw the following error if I am using the connection string generated by the designer:
......

Connection string I add manually (will work):
<add name="STD" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=STD;Integrated Security=True;MultipleActiveResultSets=True" />
Yes, SimpleMembership only works with SQL Server connection strings, so you need such an entry in your web.config. Not ideal, but it works as you say...
This may be your answer: Using SimpleMembership with EF model-first
Jon Galloway's article is an excellent resource of information about SimpleMembership, if you haven't already seen it: http://weblogs.asp.net/jgalloway/archive/2012/08/29/simplemembership-membership-providers-universal-providers-and-the-new-asp-net-4-5-web-forms-and-asp-net-mvc-4-templates.aspx

We have the trust level set to Full. Note also that we also have a web site that runs the SAME Nhibernate code and has NO issues. Only the WCF REst Web Service Application has this error?
Any Thoughts as to WHY this is a problem?

change the Identity of the app pool from "ApplicationPoolIdentity" to "NetworkService" and give "NetworkService" account "modify" permissons on the file system folder.
