With this simple XAML code :

How to remove the flipview transparent "margin" which show the red Grid background?


That's because of the default style of the FlipView control.
To remove it you need to copy this default style (posted below) and remove the margin in the border:

Simply change the margin property on the border :

FlipView tends to keep a small margin. If you just force it a Margin=-3 it will show your desired output. Alternatively, you can add another element just to make sure no "light" passes from behind without hacks.

Change alignment of text inside AutoSuggestBox (UWP Xaml)

this might be silly question..
I have AutoSuggestBox inside StackPanel with other objects there:

The problem is that the text inside AutoSuggestBox is on top and not center.
I have tried solution from other questions which use Style, but when I use Style (No matter what property I put inside) it is deleting the "find" icon I put in the AutoSuggestBox

To achieve your target, you need to customize the TextBox's ControlTemplate in AutoSuggestBox's style.
You could follow Use tools to work with themes easily to find the default AutoSuggestBoxTextBoxStyle. Then, you will find that there's a ContentControl named as 'PlaceholderTextContentPresenter'. It's used to show the 'Search Reg' text. You need to set VerticalAlignment="Center" for it to make the text be in vertical center.

A custom list control with timepicker like UI

I am in need of a timepicker-like list control whose unselected elements are only shown when the user clicks on one. Something like the image below, however, I only need the central list and not the whole timepicker.
Is there any control that has similar functionality? Or else how can build one?

Toggleswitch size in xaml

How do I change the size of the actual switch in ToggleSwitch in xaml? I can change the text size for the OnContent and OffContent, but the sliding switch never changes size.
None of these change the size of the switch itself, but just the box around it.

To change this you need to edit the ToggleSwitch template for the ToggleSwitch default style.
I find this easiest to do in Blend For Visual Studio 2012.
Open Blend and right-click the toggleswitch in the designer.
Pick the Edit Template\Edit a Copy... context menu.
In the Objects and Timeline,look through the template element for a likely element. In this case it is the SwitchKnobBounds element.
Now that you've found the change the settings. In this case you can drag the sizing handles.
When you are happy with the edited changed, click the scope out button at the top of the editor to return to normal edit mode.

Remove Keyboard Focus Rect From FlipView Control in Windows Store App

Does anyone know how to remove the keyboard focus rect that appears in a FlipView Control when you use the cursor keys to navigate left and right?
I thought I could just set the FocusVisualStyle to null but that doesn't seem to be a supported property in WinRT.
Surely there must be some way to hide that annoying dotted outline?

I eventually worked out how to remove the focus rect by creating the following Style using Blend and remove the storyboards that set the FocusVisual elements. I've included the full style below in case it of use to anyone else.
