i want to show the thumbnail of the previous image taken by camera instead of the cancel button while camera is running ...

Yep. Just capture the last image, keep it in memory (or save it to disk), then use it as one of the controls. We can do this using the overlay property of the Titanium.Media.showCamera function. Here is a quick example:
First we need an overlay view to show the image.

overlayView.add(imageView);
Now this is the function we use to open the camera with the overlay view. Note that we don't have controls so you need to add those (for closing etc). All we do right now is set the overlays image.

imageView.image = event.media;
},
cancel:function() {},
error:function(error) {},
saveToPhotoGallery:true,
allowEditing:true,

To really make this work, you may need to save the event.media in a global variable, or use a similiar technique make sure overlayView will not be nulled out / garbage collected.
Also this is a barebones solution, not very robust, but this is the basic method I would use!

Hide a view in Titanium so that it does not take physical space

In titanium it is possible to hide a view like so:
$.foo.hide()
or
$.foo.visible = false
However, in both cases the object still seems to take physical space. It is just invisible. In other words it is similar to the CSS property visibility: hidden.
I want it so that it disappears and take no physical space in terms of width or height, so it's similar to the CSS property display: none
How can I do this?
The best hacky solution I have is the following:
$.foo.width = 0;
$.foo.height = 0;
$.foo.left = 0;
$.foo.right = 0;
But that means when I want to make it visible again, I have to set all those properties back to their original values which is a pain and hard to maintain.
First of all, don't afraid of doing some hard coding ;)
Coming to your query, yes, this is true that hiding a view just hide it from UI, but physical-space is still there.
To do what you want, you will need to either remove view on hide & create it on show, or you can use absolute layout in some tricky way.
Other way could be to animate this view using transform property like this:
// on hide
$.foo.animate({

$.foo.visible = false;

// on show
$.foo.visible = true; // we need to make it visible again before resetting its UI state since we hid it after completion of animation in above code

tvOS: Focus first button as preferred focus view when buttons are in horizontal order

I have been trying to focus the first button but focus engine takes the third button right below the tab bar as the first item to be focussed. I tried with preferred focus view but found that when i place the buttons in vertical order then preferred takes the preferred view to be focussed but when i placed all the buttons in horizontal plane it always takes the third button.The other approach i can think of if Focus Guide but i wonder how that will work in this scenario?

It happens because focus engine takes the nearest possible focus element as 1st element as you can see from the picture attached.I have attached the context screenshot for the view controller. Any help or clue to solve this will be appreciated.

We need to add focus guide just above button 3 and redirect it to button one when the focus guide is focussed.

Try adding a UIFocusGuide just above the button rows. In that case, before reaching the button, it will hit your focus guide in which you can redirect the preferredFocusedView to that particular button. The code to redirect is to be done by overriding didUpdateFocusInContext method.
Assuming you have setup the focus guide in viewDidload, the following is a sample,

I too faced a similar issue but somehow able to do it through this. The preferredFocusedView approach will also work, but you have to do lot of circus by updating some reference variable and then calling setneedsfocusupdate for that view. Try the focus guide way. Hope it helps.

I have added code how to setup the guide. In this case I have put the guide on the right side of my view. So, whenever your focus hits the guide, it redirects to the preferredfocusguide view that you want the focus to go to in the didUpdateFocusInContext. "There is only one view in focus at anytime.", remember thes ? So, the moment it hits the guide, the overriden method gets hit which in turn moves your focus to the guide's preferred view. For examples, you can refer to Apple's UIKitCatlog app for tvOS and here is one link explaining the same.
The best way to give the initial focus to your preferred view is by using preferredFocusEnivronments.

How to properly anchor popovers in Bootstrap 3x

If you look at the bootstrap demo that is hosted here And scroll down to the demo that has all 4 buttons. Now click on the left popover, it shows properly. However, When I shrink or extend the screen the popover is no longer anchored to the proper point. Is there a way around this?
This has to do with the container property for the popover.

See the attached example. Show both popovers then resize the window from xs breakpoint to sm breakpoint. You will see the top item will seperate from the button as the container defaults to body. (I'm also setting it to body though options). The second item is attached to the parent div so that one remains attached to the element even though the breakpoint changed.

animation for zoom in and zoom out in android for imageview

How do i set zoom in and zoom out when click on imageview?I want my program to react when user click on imageview must get large to some extent and can move imageview on that screen and sometime it reduce the size along when it move on touch anywhere on the screen .when click again is go resume original size what do i do?
As far as I know there are two ways.
The first way:
Make a new folder in res called 'anim'. Than make a xml file inside, for example zoomin.xml. Afterwards put the following code inside.

shortly you should use third imageview which is invisible when the user touches any imageview you want, you can display it by using animation in the imageview which is invisible.

Titanium Appcelerator Custom Buttons

I'm new with Appcelerator and I encountered an annoying problem regarding layout.
I have to do a menu bar that is very easy to do with plain html (ul>li>a and that's all). The problem is that it seems that all button-related functions are not... customizable. I want buttons to be displayed as plain text, not buttons.
The first thought was to use labels (instead of buttons). But... Is this a right way? I need a menu bar, not a text paragraph! Besides that, the menu is somehow flexible, not like labels.
This is one (of many!) things i tried:

I usually use views when I need to create what you described above.
For example:
I use a view with a vertical layout, then add my child views. The child views then have listeners for the click or whatever event.
This allows you to have more control over the formatting. A side effect of this is you will need to create your own "press" ui cue in some cases.
