View multiple Mamp Pro websites on local network - apache

Using Mamp Pro 2.1.1 I have 3 Wordpress websites running that I would like to view via mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.) for testing AND allow for my team to edit simultaneously before publishing live over my office LAN.
By appending port 8888 to my IP (mylocalIP:8888) I can access the first website via phone or other computer. However I have not been able to figure out how to view any of the other websites easily.
I have tried setting different port numbers for each of the other websites which all, rather than going where I want, redirect to the mylocalIP:8888 which is quite frustrating.
What I'm looking for is something simple like mylocalIP:5555 to go to the correct website. What I'm not looking for is installing another program and/or tweaking settings on every persons computer that is working on the website or wants to preview/approve it.
Any thoughts? I've read of the possibility of an Apache conflict from the native Mac and MAMP installations, could this be the problem? I am running OSX 10.8.2 if that helps.
Thanks.

I've successfully used at setup which includes the name of my computer, e.g. myMacBookPro.
In your case it would look like this:
IP / Port = * / 5555
Add 'theNameOfYourComputer.local' as alias (e.g. myMacBookPro.local)
Other persons on your LAN should now be able to access your site via http://theNameOfYourComputer.local:5555
Hope it works for you.

SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP - but only on a few select Systems

I encounter the problem when I try to access the website of my software engineering uni course. On my desktop (Win10), phone and tablet (both Android) I receive a "SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP"-Error when trying to access the site.
The error appears regardless of browser, it seems to be system-wide.
Interestingly enough I can access the site on my laptop (Win10 + Manjaro) and could also access it on my desktops Manjaro partition. I could also access it on my phone in the uni-network - but not using mobile data.
However I am not sure, whether mobile data is to blame, as I logged in with my firefox account before receiving the error. Naturally I assumed it may have something to do with my firefox-preferences, but i am using the same account on my Manjaro Systems as well as the Win10 partition of my laptop. Besides me, none of my friends, except one have this problem.
I ran the URL through multiple different SSL-Checkers and every one of them encountered problems regarding the SSL-certificates. As the problem occures in different networks I can also rule out some router-settings of my home-network being the cause. Have you encountered such an error before and is there anything I can do on my own or is this an issue I should take up with my course-instructor and ask him to take a look at his server?
As it turns out the browser plugin "HTTPS Everywhere" was causing the problem.
The error occured in different browsers without the plugin because I copy-pasted the https URL. The issue appeared on my phone because of the shared browser history, which autocompleted the URL to the https version. The plugin is not installed on my Manjaro's Firefox, which is a bit strange as I though it would be shared.
Additionally, on Manjaro, Firefox does not suggest the https version of the site for auto-completion - maybe it favors sites opened on the specific device over sites opened on different devices. Either way, it works now.

Can't use phone ase controller

I want to test my airconsole game on a smartphone before publishing. The problem is, I can't connect it to the simulator.
If i try to connect (Chrome on Android) it says connecting, after a few seconds it shows the enter code screen but no input is possible. After about 30 seconds I get the message download the app for next time. (Screenshots attached)
Do you know where the problem is?
My files are hosted on a webserver, accessible from everywhere.
Kind regards
Make sure your screen.html and controller.html are accessible from all devices.
Let's assume you are running your local web server on http://192.168.0.2:8080/
Try to access http://192.168.0.2:8080/screen.html and http://192.168.0.2:8080/controller.html using a normal web browser on the device that doesn't work. It should display the screen/controller html.
If you can't access http://192.168.0.2:8080/controller.html from your phone, but from your computer, make sure you are in the same network and that your router does not have "Client Isolation" activated.
If you are testing with real smartphones, make sure you do not use http://localhost/ or http://127.0.0.1/, because localhost is not your computer on the phone but the phone itself!
If you are still unable to connect your phone, you can use the ngrok tool to forward your local url. See our Ngrok Unity Guide for how to do this in the Unity Engine: https://developers.airconsole.com/#!/guides/unity-ngrok

I have problem in back office of prestashop 1.7.5.1

I install prestashop 1.7.5.1 (the final version) in my local server (in wamp server - Apache 2.4.37 - PHP 7.2.14 - MySQL 5.7.24). My front office is ok, but all pages in my back office have problems. For example, in the picture below, My computer is not connected to the Internet.
but when I connect my computer to the internet my back office all is ok as shown in the picture below:
as if jquery or css is not loaded properly in my back office (when My computer is not connected to the Internet).I want work offline on my shop.
Please help me, many thanks.
Remember Prestashop use Bootstrap Framework, if you are offline the CDN wont receive the correct communication, you can see the result
You can try to use the Maintenance mode, to work offline.
This comes because of Prestashop backoffice use some external files of css and images.
To work offline you installed it in your website admin directory.
You can find those external link in your css admin file your_directory/admin_folder/themes/default/css/admin-theme.css

Issue in hosting a webapplication in a local machine

I have developed a webapplication in my local machine. the application is hosted on tomcat 7.0.22 server. the application is accessed using http://localhost:8080/app
When i use this in my localmachine, I am not facing any problems. But when I intend to share the link with my fellow team mates using the links http://myipaddress:8080/app, I am getting Javascript errors. I placed the js files in the build path of the application.
Even i have noticed the tables width are changed in the same browser
I am unable to find the problem. Can any one help
Thanks,
Vamsi
When testing on your own machine, use your own IP instead of "localhost" and should be able to compare apples with apples and avoid confusing cause and effect.
I would say to check the configuration of your host or vhost files, but if all included JS files are on the same host, that is unlikely to be the problem.
My guess is that you hard coded a path somewhere or that the problem is related to some other difference between testing from your machine and their machine (different browser, versions, plugins, etc) and not actually related at all to the domain. Could possibly also be a file permission problem (but that is a wild guess).

apache localhost sites opening in Firefox, but not IE or Safari?

I'm running WAMP on Vista and have Apache virtual hosts and my hosts file all set up to allow me to test sites locally using an address like this:
http://testsitex.localhost:8080
Only problem is, it only works in Firefox. IE and Safari (currently the only other browsers I've tried, and the two I'm most concerned about) display an an error.
I'm not currently in front of my machine but the error is something along the lines of:
502 Bad Gateway
Problem with DNS Host Lookup
Can anybody tell me what's going on?
I would try changing it from testsitex.localhost to testsite.loc and see if you have the same problem. Alternatively, try pinging it from the command prompt, and see if you're seeing the same problem.
Another thing might be that Firefox ignores the windows proxy, whereas IE and Safari likely use the default windows proxy (settings -> control panel -> internet -> connections -> lan settings). If your proxy doesn't have the hosts file, this would explain it.
Have you put testsitex.localhost into your HOSTS files?
