How to record markup(drawing) and audio narration of ppt/pdf slides - mouseevent

Background:
I am currently developing a distant education system for a third world country. Because of limited bandwidth, students can not, or can't afford to, watch video streams from internet.
Requirement:
continuous recording of voice.
teachers hate to record narration for each slides.
voice-markup synchronization
i.e. markup should appear one by one at exact time that they are recorded.
Obviously embedded Ms PowerPoint is not enough.
Question:
Are there some sort of PowerPoint plug-in can achieve that?
How to record mark-ups?
Simply record mouse movement/event and replay those event might work buy it is complicated.

Please have a look at PresentationTube. PresentationTube offers a free desktop presentation recorder and YouTube-based video sharing network to help teachers and students produce and share quality video presentations for e-learning in a new way. The recorder allows the presenter to synchronize a variety of visual aids, including presenter's audio and video footage, PowerPoint slides, hand-written text, drawings, and web pages. The platform integrates scrollable slide thumbnails allowing the audience to move to the respective video content and control both the time and progress of video presentation.

iPhone: bulk move ALL voice memos + ALL pdfs generated from Safari page prints (pdf-exports using "Books") to pc

voice memos:
I have 100s of voice memos that I recorded using the Apple voice recorder standard app and I want to get them on my pc altogether in one go.
pdfs:
I often save mobile Safari pages as Books which are then automatically saved (very quickly and well-formatted) as pdfs. On a website opened in Safari, you can choose the "send to"- button and then the orange Symbol for books. I have houndreds of self-generated pdfs in ibooks, and I have googled and tested for a longer time how to transfer them to my pc (see the details of these tests in the answer section).
Is there any trick to bulk move ALL voice memos in just one go + ALL pdfs in Books to the pc in just one go? I am happy about ANY way to reach this.
Please mind: I do not want to save every voice memo / pdf, piece by piece, in a cloud or app nor send each of them, piece by piece, by mail. This costs too much time and nerves and is not a bulk move.
I found a working solution in Decipher Backup Browser 14. This program might not be the only one achieving the aim, but it does the thing. Whoever finds other programs, please add an answer.
It simply reads out the data from the iPhone backup that you can create with iTunes. The program offers extracting all voice memos, as well as extracting all PDFs in "All PDFs in Backup". In the full version, you can then save them in one go to your pc. Thanks go to the pragmatic e-mail help including the screenshot.
Another possible solution perhaps is to sync your iBooks with iCloud - perhaps, because there is no working test, neither on Windows nor on macOS.
#### Testing the sync of the Safari pdfs:
(I originally got the info of the possible sync on macOS from the Decipher company, but I assume this is a simple misunderstanding or outdated.)
I sync iBooks with iCloud, iBooks are part of iCloud's "Manage Storage" option in my iPhone Settings, and still I do not see the pdfs there. On Windows, I do not see any iBooks sign at all in iCloud. iBooks is supposed to be hidden in iCloud Drive according to https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/296462/locating-the-ibooks-folder-in-icloud-drive?newreg=1d6ae7995129403b99e57fe74feae430, but I could not succeed with the help of that link, the answers there are for Apple macOS command line (macOS bash). Then an additional investigation turned out that even if there were a hidden folder on Windows (which does not), it would not help: #ankii was so kind to test this on macOS, the needed pdfs cannot be seen in the macOS hidden iBooks folder either. See https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/395290/locating-the-ibooks-folder-in-icloud-drive-on-windows, #ankii:
I exported a wikipedia page to iOS iBooks, as pdf. It shows up on iOS
app. but not on Mac app. that is weird.
Please, if anyone has managed this iCloud sync on Windows or macOS, answer here, but it seems as if there is no solution.
####
The simple reason why all of the normal file transfer tools cannot help, but only those which give you the contents of the iTunes backup, is because the needed pdfs ARE only in the backup. :)
When you delete such a "Safari-pdf", it will ask you whether you want to delete this from iCloud or if you only want to delete it from the downloads. That is just the standard question for the real e-books, while the "Safari-pdfs" that this thread is about are not part of iCloud anyway.
And it seems as if this will not change in the future, according to https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251534441 discussion results.
##################### Finally:
After having saved all of the PDFs, deleting them in two alternatives:
Books > Library > Edit > "Select All" on the left (you may also do this inside a specific collection only so that you can filter what you want to delete, you can also multi-select PDFs manually instead of "Select All")
or delete all by going to Settings --> Passwords & Accounts --> iCloud --> iCloud --> Manage Storage --> Apple Books (mind there are 2 of them, take the first one) --> Delete Documents & Data

Proof that the bulk move cannot be done without a 3rd party app.
I have tried several 3rd party programs to transfer the pdfs, but none of them find the Safari pdf prints, they only find just the commercial e-books. iTunes does not find them either.
I was asked by a moderator to move the details of what I have already tried to reach a bulk move - and which were at first part of the question - to this answer. This was tested in 04/2020, but the problem will still be the same.
##########################################################################
iPhone 7, iOS 13.4.1 transfer iBooks pdfs to Windows 10
either with 3rd party apps or iTunes v. 12.10.5.12
result: nothing works, only workaround is using Adobe Acrobat or
iCloud Drive going through each single pdf
Unsuccessful try only using iBooks and iTunes:
In iTunes, clicking on your phone symbol, the iTunes pane that appears has a lot of options like overview, music, films... and also third party apps like kindle or acrobat in the last menu point, but there is no iBooks anywhere.
In the main menu, iBooks folder is empty. Right-click on iBooks and "transfer purchases" leads to nothing, of course: I have not bought any pdf, but just printed it from safari. In the settings, in "iTunes and App Store" make sure that "iBooks and audiobooks" are switched on for automatic download.
Third party apps fail to show iBooks' Safari pdf prints:
Tested up to now (few of so many): iMazing, iExplorer, easeus, ApowerManager, Phonepaw, iTools 4.4.5.8
Only those pdfs that you had actually added from the pc to the phone
are also in the books folder in the third party apps.
Those pdfs that are just printed pdfs from safari websites do not appear in the third party apps of iTunes.
iCloud Drive or Adobe Acrobat app: The current workaround which takes too much time and nerves:
Adobe Acrobat v. 20.04.00 app on the iPhone, click on every pdf's 3 dots in the overview in iBooks, save it in Acrobat. Then use iTunes, clicking on your Phone symbol, use the last menu point to get to Acrobat 3rd party app and then mark all pdfs and save them to a folder on your pc.
You can also use iCloud Drive, AirDrop or the like, works the same and does not need iTunes. Make sure that in your iPhone preferences, iBooks --> iCloud Drive is switched on (this is the standard anyway). Still the same issue with any such solution: no bulk move possible.
In Books, use the "Save to Files" option. Afterwards, follow these directions.

How to switch from preview to record video without rebooting the camera with DirectShow

I using directshow programming under C++, open the program to achieve the preview screen, and move the camera device to the correct position, then I start record video. These functions can be realized. but the problem is program switch preview from video record, will restart a camera,so I would like to asking, directshow there is no way to directly from preview switching to record
Camera filter changes state with the filter graph, and you cannot keep the camera running while doing rebuilding of the pipeline, closing files etc.
A typical solution is a two graph design. Upstream graph is doing capture, downstream graph is doing preview or preview with recording or just recording. You keep first graph running and you stop/change second graph. There is some mechanism to connect the graph and transfer the captured frame between the graphs.
The most popular solution which is used by those who look for out of the box solution to the problem is GDCL Bridge.

Accessibility concerns for website providing massive amounts of PDFs

I am working on a website providing massive amount of PDFs for download and I am trying to improve the website accessibility. All I can think of is:
Provide equivalent content for the PDFs when possible (text or HTML for example).
Provide description for the PDF documents before the use can download them.
Make it possible to search within the PDF files when the users use the website search.
Make the links to the PDFs labelled by a nice icon.
Inform the users that they will need a third party application (Acrobat or other PDF viewers) in order to open the documents.
Are there other ways to improve it?
Like Jared said, assistive technology works decently with PDFs. The question is what kind of quality control do you have. There is a few different ways of putting together a PDF. One way is scanning a document and the result is a PDF made out of images. When assistive technology hits it, all it says is image image image, great help right?
Now Adobe built in an Optical Character Recognition ability (second way), which has improved over the years, but is far from quality. For example, I was given a PDF that had OCR on it. One of the first lines had the word Articles, in italics, the OCR spit out Art/e5. The third way is to produce PDFs containing actual text. Now Office 2007/2010, have the ability to save as a PDF. Before hitting save, click the options button and ensure the "document tags for accessibility" box is checked.
PDFs have a tag structure, like HTML, found via the Tags panel/pane. The output in 2010, is a bit cleaner than 2007, but I still recommend something like Commonlook Office to create your PDFs.
4.Make the links to the PDFs labelled by a nice icon.
You could put an icon within the link. Some people do:
Link text <img src=".." alt="PDF icon"/>
Some people using assistive tech just browse via links, so they won't know it is a PDF before they open it. So, it is better to do:
Link text <img src="" alt="PDF"/>
5.Inform the users that they will need a third party application (Acrobat or other PDF viewers) in order to open the documents.
It is a good idea to do this, in fact Section 508 requirements say to do this. I recommend linking to Adobe Reader for two reasons.
1- if the person does not have a PDF viewer, they'll probably call their "computer expert" who probably heard of Adobe Reader, and knows the site isn't pushing some ad-ware.
2- Adobe Reader has the most built-in accessibility of the readers out there, to my knowledge. So, why would you not give the best.
There are several things you can do to improve the accessibility of the PDFs themselves.
Provide "Alternate Descriptions" for images
Provide "Replacement Text" for items such as equations or abbreviations
Replacement Text can also be used to hint at the pronunciation of names
Mark the language, especially if it is mixed
This will assist a screen reader in properly understanding the PDF. This isn't crucial for pages that contain only text in regular paragraph layout - the reader can usually figure things out. If there are pictures, captions, jargon, names, etc, this will greatly improve the reader's performance.

Open a PDF file in an external app on iPad

I'd like to make my app to open a specified PDF by an external app of the user's choice on the iPad. How can I do that? Or, is there any open-source PDF reader framework available so that I can put it into my app?
My situation in more detail:
I'm thinking of porting to the iPad from OS X / rewriting from scratch for the iPad an app which manages lots of PDFs (journal articles, etc.), but I don't want to write the PDF reader part, because there are many good ones already out there; I don't want to reinvent the wheels.
(You might say you shouldn't reinvent pdf management apps, but I'd like to make one as a front end to SPIRES, and there isn't one so far.)
As the app would be a front end to a serious reading activity, UIWebView's pdf capability is not enough.
Also, users of my app would have various preferences which app to use.
That's the background behind my question. Thanks in advance!
Here's my self-answer:
Use UIDocumentInteractionController. See this Apple doc.
The problem now is to find a way to choose programmatically exactly with which app you open a document, when multiple apps are available to a same file type.
Its not that hard to view PDFs without a UIWebView. You use some Quarts 2D drawing but a large majority of the work is done for you. You mainly have to choose how you will flip pages, and do pinch to zoom.
Quarts 2D PDF reference
You aren't able to search inside of PDF files. You can't access the text. You could do annotation, but it would be a hack at best.

Automated Development of Presentation with Interactivity

I am trying to identify the right tool, language, software package, or other for the automated development of presentations, where the presentation is user interactive.
The presentation will consist of images with titles and some descriptive text. Most of the time there will be 35–70 images. I would like to show each image on a separate page, slide, tab, etc. (I guess proper terminology depends on the solution.)
The images will change, but the titles will remain the same, and there will be a little bit of change to the description of each image.
After putting the presentation together, I would like the user to be able to circle and "write" on the electronic image in kind of the wax pencil sense (I previously worked in a photo lab and we worked with wax pencils on negatives all the time and would like to have kind of a similar flexibility). Moreover, I would like users to be able to add comments as well, kind of in the way Adobe PDF Professional allows, e.g. inserting bubble comments, etc.
Most importantly, I would like to be able to do this in an automated way. Right now we are using PowerPoint, but the amount of time it is taking to put an image on a slide in PowerPoint, resize it, and then set up the text is killing us. Plus, as the images change it takes tons of time to go back and update them. Thus, we would like something that is a bit faster to update images and get the feedback from our few users. Does not necessarily have to be a web hosted solution, but could be run through a browser.
Sorry this is so long and thanks for any ideas and feedback, especially if there is an existing software package solution, language that can be used, or other approach to get this done.
These days, two of the most popular are Adobe Captivate and Articulate Presenter. For service, instead of product, you can check out services like http://voicethread.com.
I don't know of any product that completely answers your requirements.
But, for similar results I use two different tools for developing the presentations and another one for drawing while presenting.
If I just want to make a presentation made of pictures and texts, and I want to automate its creation, I use irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/ with its wonderful feature for automated slideshows. I put all the images together, annotate them (I use either their filenames, or if not enought, with EXIF and comment fields) and create a slideshow, that can be compiler into an .exe file.
If I want a more elaborated presentation. With full annotation capabilities, I use Wink http://www.debugmode.com/wink/
For drawing over the screen during the presentation, I use a very old bitmap drawing program, called PC-Draw, that allows, with a hotkey, to capture the screen as a bitmap and begin drawing over it, and with another hotkey, to return to the original screen without altering the running programs at all. I have not found it anywhere in the web. However, I found similar programs just a quick google away.
All three tools are free and easy (and even fun) to use.
