Twitter API user_timeline not retrieving all tweets - api

For some reason when I go to this link plugging in ABCSMinistries screenname I only get 1 result:
http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.json?screen_name=ABCSMinistries&count=4&exclude_replies=$exclude_replies
I've since research and come across this link as well with the same results
https://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline/ABCSMinistries.json?callback=twitterCallback2&count=4
But when I try any other screenname I get 4 results as expected (unless the user doesn't have four. ABCSMinistries definitely has more than 1 (32 to be exact) so what's the problem?

You aren't seeing the retweets that user has made. Your call to the API needs to include
include_rts=1
See the documentation at https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1/get/statuses/user_timeline

How to get maximum number of tweets on an user

i have this code
("https://api.twitter.com/1.1/statuses/user_timeline.json?screen_name=".$twitteruser.'&count=500'
But it is giving me only 200 records , I found in twitter document that it will give 3200 tweets. Is i am doing wrong what should i do to get that much tweet.
Since there is no page system in twitter 's API, to go throught timelines, you must use the "max_id" parameter.
Here is an helpful link that explains how to work with timelines with nice illustrations: https://dev.twitter.com/rest/public/timelines.
Edit: here is how you do it.
"To use max_id correctly, an application’s first request to a timeline endpoint should only specify a count."
Make your request "https://api.twitter.com/1.1/statuses/user_timeline.json?screen_name=".$twitteruser.'&count=500 (you can put 200).
Then when you get all your data, " keep track of the lowest ID received" and use it as parameter (the same way you do for the count) for your next request. it will give you the 200 next posts with a lower id than the one you specified. Do it again until you reach the end.

Is it correct that the Instagram Location/Search endpoint does NOT support pagination?

I have read several postings about the fact that the Instagram API returns only 20 results at a time. In many cases, people have suggested that all you need to do is to use the next URL which is returned in the pagination information. I would be fine with that, but the JSON returned by
https://api.instagram.com/v1/locations/search?
does not appear to have any pagination information. I have seen a posting that says that /media/search does not support pagination. I just wanted to confirm that the same is true for /locations/search. Can anyone confirm?
And if this is correct, does anyone have any thoughts about how you can get a list of all Instagram events in a specific area, rather than just the first 20 or so?
/media/search end point does not have pagination, but you can get next set of 20 pics by using url param max_timestamp, get the created_time of the last photo in api response and apply it as max_timestamp for next url call, it will return the next 20. Thats how I implemented here: http://www.gramfeed.com/instagram/map
for locations/search end point, timestamp does not apply, you can change distance url param and get more results: http://www.gramfeed.com/instagram/places

Google Custom search bug?

I have implemented google custom search (https://developers.google.com/custom-search/json-api/v1/reference/cse/list#request) that searches flickr and other sources on my site and now suddenly it gives me very wierd results.
My query looks like this (key and search engine id removed)
https://www.googleapis.com/customsearch/v1?num=10&rights=cc_attribute&searchType=image&safe=high&key={key}&cx={searchengine}&q=cat&start=1
So a search on 'cat' obviously gives totalResult:219000 in the response. I get 10 result per request but when I use start=11
https://www.googleapis.com/customsearch/v1?num=10&rights=cc_attribute&searchType=image&safe=high&key={key}&cx={searchengine}&q=cat&start=11
I get totalResults:12!
What am I doing wrong? This used to work.

REST API Explore: How to get same list ordered like the search on Foursquare Website?

I'm using the REST API (venues platform) to get a list of the top 5 venues per destination and category, like they are listed in the search results on the foursquare website.
For example i do the following request using the explore api endpoint:
https://api.foursquare.com/v2/venues/explore?near=zurich,CH&query=College %26 University
I'm using the apias a not authenticated. I do not pass a radius, to get the default radius.
Now the results from the api is as follows:
1. ETH Hönggerberg HIL
2. Technopark
3. Kantonsschule Stadelhofen
4. Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, Departement Musik
5. Klubschule Migros
When i search on the Foursquare Website as follow (not logged in!):
https://foursquare.com/explore?near=Zurich%2C%20CH&q=College%20%26%20University
I get the following results listed on the website:
1. SBB Digital
2. Technopark
3. ETH Hönggerberg HIL
4. EF Education First
5. Klubschule Migros
Is it possible to get the same list, as shown on the website (in the same order) also from the api? If yes? how can i do that? how do i call the api or how do i have to sort the results from the api to get the same list?
First i tried to sort the api results by the rating field, but that doesn't do the trick at all. Because in this example no one of the first 30 results does have any rating.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Make sure you are making the explore request with the same user account as on the web. Also, it looks like your queries do not match up exactly. One is "College & University and the other is "college" - try matching up the queries and seeing if the results change.
Well meanwhile i got the answer from foursquare.
The trick is very simple: just have to add the following parameters to the api call: time=any and day=any.
Then you get the results ordered exactly the same way as on the foursquare webpage (when not authenticated).
Thank you david from foursquare! :-)

Google Custom Search API, Howto return country specific results only

I am making some PHP code which takes a given search phrase and url and searches through the google search results until it finds the url (only first 100 results). My problem is, this is only working for the US. I have tried adding the "&cr=" option, but it still on returns US results.
The full URL I am using for the request is:
https://www.googleapis.com/customsearch/v1?key=API_KEY&cx=CX_VALUE&q=KEYWORD&cr=COUNTRY&alt=JSON
Does anyone have any experience with this? I want to be able to see UK results. Tried inserting &cr=countryUK , but still only does US results.
Thanks :)
Regards,
Stian
Use the gl=<country code> param to limit it to your country of choice (so gl=gb for the uk).
