I'm trying to get apache to serve any request for /uploaded/2 with the first file that starts with 2 in a certain directory (say /foo/bar/).
Basically, If I have directory /foo/bar with contents:
1-filenameclutter.wav
2-clutterinthefilename.mp3
3-someweirdtext.jpg
And a web browser makes a request for /uploaded/1, apache would return 1-filenameclutter.wav; a request for /uploaded/2 would return 2-clutterinthefilename.mp3; etc. (all files with the right mime-type).
As far as I can see, ModRewrite can only go from a source with extraneous data to a simplified file on the file system, not the other way around.
Do you guys know any way to do this, with ModRewrite or using apache in another way (no PHP)?
EDIT:
Two things to point out, 1) I'm not concerned with duplicate files starting with the same id. These files correspond to an object in a database, which has a primarykey, id. 2) The reason I'm doing this is because I won't know exactly what the extension of the file is, but I do know the id, so when I form these I just prepend the orignal filename to the end of {{id}}- (Don't worry, I replace all ".."'s with "~").
Mod-rewrite has the ability to check if a single specific file exists, but you can't search a directory for a file pattern. Note that what you are suggesting would have horrible scaling attributes because the system would have to search all the files to find the file you are looking for. Since you already have the file in the database, why don't you just name the file with the id and keep the real filename in the database? In that case, /uploaded/2 would return the file at that location. You don't even need mod_rewrite.

But we are not able to read only these two files.

Glob is not a standard regular expression, there is differences between them.
For example glob doesn't match the number of times.

I'm having trouble finding the answer to this, but if it already exists, please share with me. I'm trying input a file that where the file ending is ambiguous within a directory. For example the directory would be 'ThisPC\Desktop\Folder' and I'm looking for file 'SomeData_April2021'. I need it to search for the term 'SomeData' within the folder, as the ending is updated for each month. There are also other files in the folder, so I can't just specify the directory and have it upload everything.
Hopefully this is clear! If not, I'm happy to clarify.
Figured it out. Had to type (?i).+SomeData.. into the wildcard expression field
I just downloaded psychopy this morning and have spent the day trying to figure out how to work with builder view. I watched the youtube video "Build your first PsychoPy experiment (Stroop task)" by Jon Pierce. In his video he was explaining how to make a conditions file with excel that would be used in his experiment. I wanted to make a very similar test where images would appear and subjects would be required to give a yes or no answer to them (the correct answer is already predefined). In his conditions file he had the columns 'word' 'colour' and 'corrANS'. I was wondering if instead of a 'word' column, I can have an 'image' column. In this column I would like to upload all my images to them in the same way I would words, and have them correlated to a correct answer of either 'yes' or 'no'. We tried doing this and uploaded images to the conditions file, but we haven't had any success in running the test successfully and were hoping somebody could help us.

P.S. we are not familiar with python, or code in general, so we were hoping to get this running using the builder view.

Yes, certainly, that is exactly how PsychoPy is designed to work. Simply place the image names in a column in your conditions file. You can then use the name of that column in the Builder Image component's "Image" field. The appropriate image file for a given trial will be selected.
It is difficult to help you further, though, as you haven't specified what went wrong. "we haven't had any success" doesn't give us much to go on.
Common problems:
(1) Make sure you use full filenames, including extensions (.jpg, .png, etc). These aren't always visible in Windows at least I think, but they are needed by Python.
(2) Have the images in the right place. If you just use a bare filename (e.g. image01.jpg), then PsychoPy will expect that the file is in the same directory as your Builder .psyexp file. If you want to tidy the images away, you could put them in a subfolder. If so, you need to specify a relative path along with the filename (e.g. images/image01.jpg).
(3) Avoid full paths (starting at the root level of your disk): they are prone to errors, and stop the experiment being portable to different locations or computers.
(4) Regardless of platform, use forward slashes (/) not backslashes (\) in your paths.

[Question] Does Session::RemoveFiles() remove files in sub directory of source directory? If not, how to implement this ability?
(Please do not ask me why I have the remote directory as /C/testTransfer/. The code just for testing purpose.)
I have a SFTP program using WinSCP .Net assembly. Program language is C++/CLI. It opens up a work file. The file contains many lines of FTP instructions.
One type of instruction I have to handle is to transfer *.txt from source directory. The source directory may contain sub directories which may contain .txt as well. Once transfer is successful, delete the source files.
I use Session::GetFiles() for the transfer. It correctly transfer all .txt files (/C/testTransfer/*.txt), even those in sub directories (/C/testTransfer/sub/*.txt), in the source to the destination.

Now to remove, I use session->RemoveFiles("/C/testTransfer/*.txt"). I only see *.txt in the source (/C/testTransfer/*.txt), but not in the sub directory (/C/testTransfer/sub/*.txt), are removed.
The Session::RemoveFiles can remove even files in subdirectories in general. But not this way with wildcard, because WinSCP will not descend to subdirectories that do not match the wildcard (*.txt). Also note that even if you do not need the wildcard, the Session::RemoveFiles would remove even the subdirectories themselves, what I'm not sure you want it to.
Though you have other (and better = more safe) options:
Use the remove parameter of the Session::GetFiles method to instruct it to remove source file after successful transfer.
If you need to delete source files transactionally (=only after download of all files succeed), iterate the TransferOperationResult::Transfers returned by Session::GetFiles and call the Session::RemoveFiles for each (unless the TransferEventArgs::Error is not null).
Use the TransferEventArgs::FileName to get a file path to pass to the Session::RemoveFiles. Use the RemotePath::EscapeFileMask to escape the file name before passing it to the Session::RemoveFiles.
There's a similar full example available for Moving local files to different location after successful upload.
To recursively delete files matching a wildcard in a standalone operation (not after downloading the same files), use the Session::EnumerateRemoteFiles. Pass your wildcard to its mask argument. Use the EnumerationOptions.AllDirectories option for recursion.
Call the Session::RemoveFiles for each returned file. Use the RemotePath::EscapeFileMask to escape the file name before passing it to the Session::RemoveFiles.
I would like to parse the file location information in an M3U playlist into fully qualified paths. The possible formats in M3U files seem to be:
c:\mydir\songs\tune.mp3
\songs\tune.mp3
..\songs\tune.mp3
For the first example, just leave it alone. For the second add the directory that the playlist resides in so it would become c:\playlists\songs\tune.mp3 and the same for the third case so it would also become: c:\playlists\songs\tune.mp3.
I'm using vb under VS2008 and I can't find a way to recognise each of the potential location formats in the M3U file. System.IO.Path offers no solution that I can find. I've searched extensively for terms like "convert relative path to absolute" but no luck.
Any advice appreciated.

Write a batch script that just reads the m3u file line by line, and then just parse each line looking for ":" , and for "..", and edit the string as needed. You can then just write the "converted" strings to another file...
