In my szenario i copy an application to a mobile device (Windows CE) from a desktop application (VB.NET, Win7). It is a small setup routine.
Is it possible to start the setup application on the mobile device from within the dektop application after copying the files to the mobile device?
One way to do it is to use the CeCreateProcess function from RAPI. It has its own limitations for example: Wait for CECreateProcess complete

I'm trying to create a control system in my apartment to control all the devices I have, for example, to turn them on and off using the mobile application, but without using the internet.
I already have the control panel which is connected to all these devices with an on and off switch.

I already had an Java application that is downloaded as part of java applets from the web page, that can interact with the USB Storage device where it need to save and retrieve data from the device.
Since the chrome has stopped supporting out of sandbox running applets, I need to develop some new technique to interact with the USB Storage Device from my web page. My application architect does not want to achieve same using JNLP which is one options that I have learnt by reading some articles.

I have created a small application in sencha2 and am able to run the application on my desktop
i have put my application in XAMPP and am able to run it using localhost. Is it possible to test my application in mobile remotely ( android / iphone etc ). I want to host my application on free server for testing on mobile can anyone suggest me how can i do this ?
I still no able to successfully download/install an app thru IBM app center to see what a new app looks like on a mobile device.
2 simple questions :
1) If an app, let's call it myapp, was download/install successfully thru IBM app center, then would myapp simply an independent new app on the device or myapp some how "embedded" in the worklight app center app?
2) If I deployed myapp to a Samsung tablet thru other means, that is not thru IBM app center, then would worklight serve has the knowledge of myadd install in this particular Samsung device?
The application would be independent. You could, for example, uninstall it either through the Application Center mobile client, or via the usual procedure the device OS allows you to.
Assuming the applications has connectOnStartup=true, and you deployed the app to the Worklight Server, the answer would be Yes. (the Application Center is not a substitute to the Worklight Server, you must still deploy it there if you intent for your application to use features such as Worklight Adapters).
I am new to developing for the iPhone and would love some advice on an app i'm trying to develop.
Is it possible to send commands to an app on iOS 3.2 from OS X using AppleScript. The iOS app will display an image and run a small script when it recieves the appropriate command from the client software running on a Mac Mini. The devices would communicate over an a closed WiFi network.
Before I continue down this path does anyone have any advice on how to setup the communication (i.e. get the app to run in the background and listen on a designated port).
I don't know the full process but I know that various apps do this one way or another, such as 1password and desktop remote mouse apps. I think that CocoaAsyncSocket will help. An alternative to having the iOS app listening on a socket is to open a connection from iOS to OS X and then persist it. You can then send data either way through the connection.
