Ok so I was working fine with the WP8 emulator but suddenly after going into Hyper-V manager it stopped working, didn't make any change and even deleted the virtual machine to be created again on debug but no luck
I have tried with the various emulator images but none of them seems to work anymore, event viewer shows no errors on Hyper-V.
What I have noticed is that the virtual machine starts in Hyper-V goes to Windows logo, then hangs for a few minutes in a black screen and turns off afterwards automatically, tried starting it without debuging, directly from hyper-v but nothing works, should I reinstall the SDK? seems to me this is not install related since it worked before

I had issues with the emulator and tried several things, including the below solutions and on a few occasions couldn't figure out what the problem was so I restored a previous image since that was quick.

Uninstall the SDK
Uninstall and reinstall the virtual switches using:
C:> netcfg –u vms_pp
C:> netcfg –c p –i vms_pp
Reboot

Problem solved! Hyper-V uses same MAC address for guest VMs (virtual
machine) and Host. If the router configured to give the host always
same ip address it will conflict with the emulator. Solution - on the
router remove the host from known PCs and let it give you some new ip
address (not fixed). After you start the emulator it will get the
correct ip address from router. Router will show you two PCs (host and
vm) with the same MAC, but different ip addresses.
Remove the instances in Hyper-V, and then run XdeCleanup.

My friend and I have downloaded some discountinued videogames from Old Games Download - Retrogaming and Abandonware (which I warmly recommend to any CD-ROM aficionado!). We managed to run two of them after downloading them, mounting their .ISO file and installing them on a Windows 10 machine. The process was fairly smooth.
We are struggling to run the other two. They’re only compatible with Windows XP, so we created a virtual box with XP as the OS, but still no luck. We can’t get the virtual box to connect to Wi-Fi in any way, even after following several tutorials found online. We have tried mounting the games’s ISOs in the following ways:
Using Virtual Clone Drive
Using WinCDEmu
Using Win XP Virtual CD Control Panel
And we think we have managed to actually mount the ISO and install the programme on the virtual machine, but the game won’t start anyway. When we try to run it, this window opens:
Monsters & Co CDROM initial window, with title, play button, exit button
But when we click ‘play’ nothing happens. We have checked the “Insert Guest Addition CD Image” setting that triggers Autoplay and it seems to be up and running. What can we try next?
VirtualBox access internet by connecting to your real machine (the host machine) as if it was a router of some kind. There is no need to make the virtual machine (guest machine) use your wifi adapter directly to get internet connection, just add a virtual network adapter to your guest machine and VirtualBox takes care of everything else (but make sure you have checked the appropriated options during installation process so drivers are installed in your host machine).
Now, the game not launching is hard to say, as we don't have any message or other info about what is causing the falling. Yet, this is a 3D game and VirtualBox is not good enough to hand this kind of computation.
On my computer, I created a Hyper-V VM and virtual switch from the Microsoft documentation using all the defaults a few months ago, everything was fine, I could see the real computer in the Network list and connect to the Internet. I tried adding a second VM using the same virtual switch and now the original VM won't connect. I've removed the second VM, uninstalled and reinstalled Hyper-V, deleted all the VMs and virtual switches and started again, all with no luck.
The closest I've got to it working again is ticking "Enable virtual LAN identification for management operating systems" under the virtual switch which lets the VM see the real computer in the Network list, but the real computers network connection no longer works. I untick the box and the network connection comes back and the real computer is removed from the Network list.
When I uninstalled Hyper-V and reinstalled, the VM was in the list, so I don't know if there are some settings that don't get removed on uninstall, I ran CCleaner to try clearing it all out with no change.
Any ideas how to completely uninstall Hyper-V with all it's hidden settings and details or how to fix the virtual switch issues?
I have installed VMware-workstation-full-10.0.3-1895310 on windows 8.1. Although VMware brige protocol is enabled in my LAN adapter but still I am unable to add and switch VMNET0 to bridged mode.
It says "Cannot change network to bridged: There are no unbridged host network adapters"
So far I have tried the following things:
I have reinstalled it many times
I have restore default settings of virtual network editor
Have also checked that Vmware bridge protocol is enabled
Have checked that whether vmnetbridge service is running or not
have done almost everything present on forums
I had this same problem also. I also run Kaspersky AV, and tried bigapple99's suggestion and unticked Kaspersky Antivirus NDIS 6 filter. This made the NIC show up in the editor, but didn't fix the problem. I noticed I was running the editor as Administrator when it was showing up, so I tried running VMWare Workstation as Administrator too. It worked! I tried reticking the Kaspersky filter, and reopening VMWare Workstation as Administrator, and it still works :) Best of both works, I'll just Run as Administartor now.
I had the same problem after upgrading windows 10. "Repair" VMware workstation version fixed the problem. I'm using VMware Workstation 11.1.3.
It's wired in network editor the "Bridged To" showing nothing in the drop down list (at least it should show "Automatic"). Can you try to untick the Kaspersky Antivirus NDIS 6 filter in LAN property to see whether your NIC will show up in the editor?

Remove Kaspersky AV
Re-Install VMWare
Re-Install Kaspersky

I have installed windows phone 8 SDK and tried running a simple app which embeds a WebBrowser on a page. When I try to run the app in emulator the emulator does not get internet connection. It displays an error message saying "You don't have permission to modify internal Hyper-V network adapter settings required to run the emulator". Im sure my login has admin permissions. My machine is 64bit, hyper v is enabled and Hyper v manager is running, hardware virtualization is enabled in the BIOS settings, DHCP is enabled and its connected to a wired network. I have checked all the system requirements. What ever I do it keeps on giving the same error message. I setup everything in a different machine and tried running the app in that machine. The same error message is displayed in the that machine also. Can anyone tell me how to get it working.

Can you run ipconfig /all on your host machine and post it here please?
seems you have problem with your DHCP or maybe multiple DHCP and conflict.
You need to add your user account as a member of the "Hyper-V Administrators" group on the machine.
Detailed steps:
Hit Windows key + Q and search for "local users and groups". Change the search scope to "Settings". Click "Edit local users and groups".
Expand the "Groups" section. Right-click on "Hyper-V Administrators" and select "Add to group".
Add your user account.
Some connection tools on the host can have negative effects when used with the emulator; I found having cisco VPN client installed on the host prevented the emulator from finding the internet. Other VPN clients may have similar side-effects. I simply uninstalled cisco (the inbuilt windows VPN is fine for what I need) and it worked perfectly.
I've also seen problems where it won't find the internet after the host has been suspended / resumed. In that scenario, it turned out to be bad network drivers. I installed a dedicated Intel NIC (rather than the on-board NIC on the motherboard) - problem solved.
Basically, Hyper-V is a bit fussy.
try refreshing the hyper-v by unchecking and then checking it again,this worked for me.
Steps:
1.control panel>>programs>>Programs and features>>turn windows features on and off>>hyper-v
2.uncheck it and restart the pc.
3.again go to control panel an check hyper-v and restart the pc again.

another possible reason is that you did not start vs2013 as admin
I just installed it on my windows 8. It's NOT running on a VM but is running at a macbook with bootcamp.
When I try to emulate my app, I get this first error:
But then I click "Retry" and give the permission, so it runs normally.
But then, when the windows phone window appears, I get a "loading" screen and then this error appears:
Just for better tagging the post I will write the error: "something happened while creating a switch: Xde couldn't find an IPv4 adress for the host machine"
You must enable virtualization in BIOS and go to Control Panel->Programs->Turn Windows features on or off and choose Hyper-V.
I had this problem.
1- Open the Control Panel.
2- Then programs.
3- Turn Windows features on or off.
4- Further selection for hyper-v.
5- Restart the computer.
6- Repeat the previous steps but put the selection on hyper-v.
7- Restart the computer.

Not sure if you got to the solution, but I just had the same situation. It turns out that older VPN clients may have compatibility problems with Windows 8. I solved the issue by uninstalling VPN client (and also making sure Hyper-V was enabled).
