Simpless not compiling automatically - less

My simpLESS stylesheets have stopped compiling automatically. If I open the actual simpLESS program and click the refresh icon it builds them without a problem.
But it's stopped listening to when I save them. Anyone know how to make simpLESS listen again?

Well I got in touch with the SimpLESS technical support guys at wearekiss.com, they said "I noticed that from time to time, too. When I remove the indexed LESS files from SimpLESS and restart the App, it seems to be working again."
I tried that, it failed, so I uninstalled and reinstalled SimpLESS, then reindexed files, now it's working again.

Simpless will not warn you if you're missing a variable declaration... it just won't compile, which is really confusing since in will warn you for other errors. It appears as if Simpless just stopped working.
What you should do is paste your code here: http://winless.org/online-less-compiler to find what variables you aren't declaring, then fix it in the original LESS file, then SimpLESS will continue working fine.

OPUS Make error: OPUS MAKE: Unknown status. Stop

We are using OPUS Make in our build infrastructure. (Basically traditional make with some wrappers around I guess)
Our codebase is mostly Java and I have been making changes and building for many months now. No issues.
Suddenly, a couple of days back, when I tried to build,i started seeing this error:
OPUS MAKE: Unknown status. Stop.
I see this error no matter what I try to build. More imp - it looks like it is not even trying to actually compile my code and for some reason just stops before with the above error.
I tried doing a clean build. Even manually cleaned up all old generated build files. Still did not work.
I even tried restarting my environment itself. Restarted Clearcase. Still no use.
I see there is a way to build with debug information. Did that also make -d
However, that did not give any useful info either. Just the same line as above. I was hoping that it would give some debug logs or some error code that I could use to solve the problem.
I see there is an option: make -n. That comes out clean. But from the name, it looks like it does not even attempt to run the build itself.
Please suggest what the issue could be.
thx - Om
"Unknown status" means that a shell command in a target returned a status that make did not understand. Run with -d to see which command is failing. And debug that shell command.

Frustrated with WampServer

I've downloaded WampServer twice. The specifications for my WampServer are: "Apache/2.4.17 (Win64) PHP/5.6.16 - Port defined for Apache: 80" and for MySql: "5.7.9 - Port defined for MySQL: 3306". The first time, it worked for sometime (2 weeks) and then it started to complain about:
*** ERROR *** The PHP configuration loaded file is: - should be: C:/wamp64/bin/apache/apache2.4.17/bin/php.ini or c:/wamp64/bin/php/php5.6.16/phpforapache.ini".
When I tried to try to move php.ini files to the right locations there was many of them ("for production ,"for development", "phpforapache" and one that just said it was an ini file). Since I was getting the error that no mbstring extension was found, I went ahead and made sure i un-commented ;extension=php_mbstring.dll from all those ini files. Guess what, nothing worked.
So I decided to uninstall WampServer and downloaded it again. It worked. But after I shut my computer down, it gave the same exact problems as before.
I've been looking online to see how I can fix this problem. There are many solutions but none of them seem to work. There's one where there must not be Internet Information Services on, one where I have to set the system environment variable value to the path of my php ini file, one where I must make sure no other service or program is using port 80. I have made sure that port 80 isn't accessed by other programs already. Then, other solutions mentioned that i should change 127.0.0.1 on my httpd.conf file to "all". Finally, there's another problem that says Skype should not be turned on. I do have Skype for business, but is not turned on. I've tried to delete it and uninstall many times, but somehow is not going away. However, WampServer has worked for me in the past.
More strange things: The only way that WampServer will turn green is if I double tap on the desktop icon. Then, it asks me if I will allowed it to make changes to my hard drive. I've tried stopping services and restarting them, but it wont start this way. Also, when I typed localhost it takes me to the WampServer homepage, but if I try to access "phpMyAdmin" it gives me that the extension to "mbstring" is not found. Here is probably the strangest of all: When I click on my task manager and check for services running on my computer, it says that "wampmysql64" and "wampapache64" are both running, while the the icon for WampServer is red. Also, if i test the files under the www folder: one of them is called "testmysql.php" it gives me this error: Fatal error: Class 'mysqli' not found in C:\wamp64\www\testmysql.php on line 7. The other file "test_sockets.php" gives the server error: Extension PHP sockets not loaded.
I don't know why this product is out there if it will do as it pleases: move files, change ports and all these extensive checks that must be made in order to make sure it works. Am seriously looking for an alternative. Sad, cause the graphical interface seems so easy to understand and navigate through.
Please can someone give me a hand. I am seriously thinking about uninstalling WampServer, loading it again and giving it another go. But, i know all those problems will come back.
I ran into the same problems as you did, and I got the answer by checking on their forums. To begin with, exit Wampserver. According to this page*, you should take the following steps:
Open a command prompt window, and run as administratorC:\Windows\system32>
Move to the apache directory C:\Windows\system32>cd C:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.4.17\binC:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.4.17\bin>
Create a symbolic link linking the php.ini to phpForApache.ini in the PHP directory
C:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.4.17\bin>mklink php.ini C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.6.15\phpForApache.ini
You should get a response that sayssymbolic link created for php.ini <<===>> C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.6.15\phpForApache.ini
For Wampserver to run correctly, it has to be run as administrator. So locate the desktop and start menu shortcuts for Wampserver and right-click. Then select Properties > Shortcut > Advanced and check Run as administrator
After applying changes, you can start up Wampserver again and it will run normally.
*The page is in French, so you may need to run it through Google Translate
I resolved that issue: I just renamed the file phpForapache.ini in the php directory to php.ini, then I copied this php.ini to apache directory; finally all the troubles is resolved.
I hope this helps you.
Thanks for the answer #tizak. What I did is I uninstall wampserver and downloaded the previous version for my 64 bit machine. It hasn't given me any problems.

Gulp with WinSCP - livereload and less

I am using gulp with livereload, less, and others on a remote server. I have successfully used gulp before many times, and have never experienced this scenario.
I am using WinSCP to save/edit files (I double click the file, and it opens in Sublime Text ... I save it, WinSCP automatically uploads it back to the server ).
However, when doing it this way gulp-less fails almost all the time. I have two core CSS files that are compiled - one is Bootstrap and one is my own - they should both be compiled with their own gulp tasks upon modification - but Bootstrap fails every time, and the other file fails about half of the time.
When I say fails, here's what I mean - with Bootstrap I always get the same error:
variable #grid-columns is undefined in file ....grid.less line no. 48
This happens even if I define #grid-columns as the first-heading in my main Bootstrap "import" file.
The other one fails in that livereload reloads the compiled CSS at some point prior to the Less file being compiled. This should be impossible, but it happens somehow.
However, when from the SSH command prompt, I type touch myfile.less or touch anybootstrapfile.less, everything works perfectly.
Obviously this is very annoying, but its livable. I think there must be some way to fix it though. Any ideas on what in the world could make this happen and what (if anything) I could do to fix it?
Chances are that, when WinSCP uploads the file after you save it in the internal editor, it sets a timestamp of uploaded file to older than it was before.
This might be particularly true, if you are using the FTP protocol, or Windows Vista or older.
For details, refer to WinSCP FAQ:
Why are the changes, I upload to webserver, not visible in the web browser?
Alright. With the help of Martin, who I now realize is the developer of WinScp, I have solved this. I had been working with the gulp.wait plugin and inserting a pause before the final reload - and it wasn't working.
Because... that wasn't where the problem was. The problem was happening at the time of upload; in that the file was getting 'touched' to soon (or there was something with the timestamp that ended up causing the functional equivelant).
So I moved the wait process to just before the less process was called like so:
gulp.src(src)
.pipe(plumber({
errorHandler:onError
})
.pipe(wait(500))
.pipe(less())
//etc
I'm gonna experiment, 500ms is probably longer than needed..but not too long to be painful. This solved the problem instantly.
Thanks Martin!

Keep getting : Debug error BC31019 : Unable to write to output file 'path/form.exe System Error &H80070005& VB.NET

I'm using Visual Studio Professional 2013 and I'm doing some very basic windows forms application.
A month ago, I could do everything I wanted without any problem. But I started some new projects today and for absolutely no reasons, I keep getting this error message when I come to debug or compile:
Debug error BC31019 : Unable to write to output file 'path/form.exe System Error &H80070005&
It can happen simply by changing the size of a textbox or modifying the text content in a label... It's very random... And I can even do an undo (ctrl+z) and then I can debug again, but if I try again to do the thing I did that brought the error message, the same message pops again as I try to run.
After reading a little about the subject, I realized that it was because the .exe file became in read-only mode and when I try to remove it, windows wont let me.
The only thing I can do if I really want to continue, is to restart my computer every times it happens. Then I can continue just like normal as my .exe file is no longer in read-only...
I tried tor run a sfc/scannow in my command prompt to see if i had any problems with my frameworks but everything was fine.
Since, it is when i restart my pc that the bug disapears, isn't anything i can do or run somewhere to do the same thing. I need to find why the exe file goes to read-only for nothing and how to get it back to normal without having to restart my pc every time...
Please help me!
thank you
I came across the same issue and it was related to having a command line argument that VS could not find, then when i clicked stop debugging I ended up in this situation as it seemed VS kept a process running.
I could see this process in task manager but could not end it (it started with the same name as my app)
I found closing VS would release this process.
Restarting VS it would then work ok again.
there may be other ways to reproduce the issue but restarting VS seems to release the file and allow you to continue.
I set the exe properties to Read/write. No effect, but when I set app properties/settings to "Always on top" = False the issue went away and is still away.

Server compilation error on some pages apache mono

We have a .net web application running in fedora 6 under Apache & mono 1.1.18 version. So long it was working good. Suddenly I'm getting the following Server Error in some of the pages,
Server Error in '/' Application
Compilation Error
Description: Error compiling a resource required to service this request. Review your source file and modify it to fix this error.
Error message:
(0,0) : error CS0006: Cannot find assembly `/tmp/apache-temp-aspnet-0/383ed40f/shadow-J7sRQf'
But please note, rest of the pages are loading properly. I know it has something to do with JIT compilation, but why it is happening on some specific pages. Also the error 'Cannot find assembly -----/shadow-J7sRQf' is something suspicious. The same error is displayed across all the browsers all the time.
I have not restarted apache or rebooted the system, as I'm not sure whether this error will occur again and i want to root cause it instead of just ignoring it. i didn't find anything on the httpd log also. I tried to Google it, but was unlucky to find anything specific. Can anyone help me on this? thanks in advance.
Wow, mono 1.1.18 is really old!
If I were you, I would try to stop apache and clean everything in the temporary compilation directory /tmp/apache-temp-aspnet-0/
This should force mono to re-generate everything in this directory.
Then, restart apache and see if it helps.
