What is the exact name of the String Table Resource Type (such as BITMAP, etc)? I'm using Visual Basic.
I've searched and I can't find anything regarding it.
That's not really the way it works. Each string you put in the string table will become a property. Of the Resources module. You access them in your code with My.Resources.Foo for a string named "Foo".
You can see all this by putting the Solution Explorer window into guru mode. Click the Show All Files icon in the toolbar at the top of the Solution Explorer window. You'll now see everything that's part of your project, including the auto-generated files. Open the My Project node, the Resources.resx node and double-click the Resources.Designer.vb node. You'll see the code that is auto-generated from the resources you entered. Don't edit the file.

I am trying to determine a package for an data element, or domain, or whatever via Eclipse ADT, but have no luck. I'm doing usual object search via project search (Ctrl-Shift-A), and both Global search (Ctrl-H), the result is the same.
I see domain properties window
and it has no clue about what package it is.
What I've tried so far:
Using filters in project search bar, callable via Ctrl-Space
Package filter does not help, it lists all packages, not the relevant ones, where this domain was found. Picking each and every package will take infinity amount of time, because the hierarchy is huge.
Pressing "Link with editor" button
For some reason it doesn't work, should it with DDIC objects? When I press it with domain opened right-side, just nothing happens. In the help and e.g. here they describe it should open the object in the left within hierarchy.
Is it something broken with my ADT or this button doesn't work with DDIC objects?
P.S. It is ABAP Cloud trial system, if that matters.

I am trying to open files using a specified executable; just like as if you were to right mouse click on a file then scroll to "Open with"
I tried what kaymaf said and reviewed the docs, but I cannot seem to get this to work.

This just ends up open the executable and rather than opening the file with the executable.
You would like to open a file with your program using the Windows context menu; and do you want to get an entry in that menu? If that is not correct, the answer can be deleted.

What is the correct syntax for using images files stored in the application files after i publish a project? Namely b/c this path will not always be the same based off when/where users would store the app files?
I did a bit of searching but havent figured out how to ask the correct question to get the answer from forums/google.

I suggest you to add to your Settings.settings a new entry for the path to the folder where you store the images. This setting will be read at runtime and used to find your images. The advantage of this approach is that you can manually (or through your setup code) change the config file (where the setting is stored) to whatever your customer requires. Instead, hard coding a path (relative or not) inside the code is just a problem waiting to happen.
To add an entry in your setting.settings file right click your project and select properties, then the settings tab. Here, add a Name like "ImagePath", of Type = String and Scope = "Application", then set your current path as value and save.
Now, if you open the app.config (or web.config) file you will see the new entry and its value. To use it at runtime
string imagePath = Properties.Settings.Default.ImagePath;
You can utilize the Application.StartupPath property and use Path.Combine() to construct a proper path:
PxBx.Image = Image.FromFile(Path.Combine(Application.StartupPath, "Images", "filename.JPG"))
You have to add the image to the project.
You have 2 ways:
Create a folder in your solution explorer called Images or whatever you want. Right click on it and click 'Add Existing Item'. Choose the image you want.
Then type in your code:
PxBx.Image = Image.FromFile("Images\FileName.jpg")
Click on your project name in the solution explorer. It will take you to a new "screen" (I don't know how to call it), from the right click on 'Resources', from there you can add your image.
Then you reference it in your code using:
PxBx.Image = My.Resources.Filename
I am trying to add a simple windows form to my VB.Net project. I have used the designer to design the form how I want it with buttons, a text box and a Timer. The problem is when I try to view the code, there is only an empty class that looks like this:

I have set the application type to a windows form application in the project properties, and I have made a successful build of the application since doing so. I have been scrawling the internet and this forum for about half an hour now and I can't find one other person who is having this problem, nor can I find a tutorial that mentions any special steps that must be taken beyond what I have done. This is the first project I have done in Visual Studio.
I know this is probably stupid simple, but I have no idea what to do. Any help is appreciated as always.
Forms comes as partial class meaning the code is separated in two files.
The "empty" code you shown is from "mcastmain.vb" (if the file is named as the class).
With that one there is a (probably hidden) file "mcastmain.designer.vb" file which contains the generated code by the designer ; and is not meant to be modified (as any designer change will rewrite the file).
To show the hidden files you have to look in the solution explorer on the button on it's top there should be a "show all files" button. (it may be possible to do the same via the menu but I don't have VS right there to be sure where)
I'm writing a console application in Visual Basic 2008 Express.
I added several text files to my project as resources. Specifically...
I went to my project's "Properties" page and selected the "Resources" tab.
I clicked the "Add Resource" dropdown and chose "Add New Text File".
I entered some simple text and saved the file as "Welcome.txt".
I built the entire solution.
In my code, I use console.writeline(My.Resources.Welcome) to display the text.
If I run my code through the IDE, it works fine.
If I run the EXE that's in the /bin/release folder, the app crashes.
My system logs show the error as "System.IO.FileLoadException".
I have tried setting the properties on the embedded text file to "Embedded Resource", but the result is the same.
Has anyone encountered this issue? Thank you in advance.
Copy Welcome.txt to your bin\release folder.

To make Welcome.txt an embedded resource, right-click either the text file or the bitmap, and then select Properties.
In the Properties dialog box, locate the Build Action property. By default, this property is set to Content. Click the property and change the Build Action property to Embedded Resource.
