Windows 8 metro application title not showing - windows-8

My application's title not showing for some reason. It was working yesterday, I did compare the changes with TFS but nothing really changed that will cause the page title to hide. The page title does appear on design view but not while I am running the application. The page title does appear on other pages so I don't think that it is problem with LayoutAwarePage.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I found the problem, I have a progress bar on the top of the page which was causing the title to hide. This is little strange though as the progress bar was there to begin with and title was showing up right. But anyways I had to place the progress bar in other grid row for title to work right.

try to put both progress bar and your title section in the stack panel.... may be this will work.. and don't change it orientation it is by default vertical

VB.NET FlowControlPanel scrolling automatically when it shouldn't

Very strange issue in VB.NET. I have a simple WinForm that has a FlowControlPanel that takes up the entire form except for a status bar at the bottom. If I add enough items to my panel so that a vertical scrollbar is needed, then scroll to the bottom, anytime I update my status bar the panel automatically scrolls back to the top. Anyone ever see this?
Thanks,
Mark

iOS 7 status bar white and empty

I'm building an iPhone app with Storyboards. But for a couple of special view controllers, I'm using just program code (which is the way I'm used to doing most of my work). For some reason, the status bar is coming up white and empty. I want do set it as the same color as the toolbar and for the status bar content to appear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know what other info would be helpful to post in order to track down the problem.
Thanks.
I don't know if by "empty", you mean transparent. If so, I think the StatusBarPlugin could be useful for you:
https://github.com/phonegap-build/StatusBarPlugin
It provides a very easy way to customize your status bar

make overscroll area under Web View transparent?

I have a WebView that is working perfectly. When I scroll it (up or down) past it's content I see a white area "Behind" the web page. (had an image here, but couldn't post due to being new).
I would like to set the overscroll color to clear.
To be precise I have played with setting the WebView background to transparent, and that does not achieve the desired result. That makes the entire page clear to the background of my app. I only want to see the app background if the user has scrolled past the contents of the window.
Any ideas?
Try this:
yourwebviewname.opaque=NO;

Item below charms bar gets invoked when search is clicked

I have created a page with horizontal layout listview with enough items added to it have a horizontal scrollbar. When you click an item in de listview it navigates to a different page with some details about the clicked item.
Now I have added search functionality to my app by use of the search contract. That's where the problem arises. When you open the charms bar, it overlays over the listview which is good. But when I click the search icon in the charms bar search is opened, but also the listitem's (which is below the charms bar ) click event is getting invoked.
Anyone else who has seen this behaviour? It feels like a bug to me in the charms bar? Hopefully someone has seen this too and has a solution to prevent this behaviour?
Nice try, but whatever you do (Dispatching, Timer...), the click event is raised prior the OnSearchActivated.
Btw, we've "fixed" this problem by providing the view margin of 86 pixels on the right (I measured the Charm bar, and no matter what resolution, it's 86 pixels).
To keep the view symmetric, we also provided 86 pixels on the left.
Tested it yesterday on the RTM version and it seems that this issue is fixed in the RTM version.
Thanks everyone for your input.
One quick thought is that your app is activated from the OnSearchActivated method when the user invokes a search; you could possibly add/remove event handlers in there.

How to make a tab bar that shows colored icons , on iOS?

I need to make a toolbar on the bottom of the screen with some buttons. I want in every button to have a small image and a small text under it. The closest i can find from "Xcode" is the "Tab Bar" where you can put icons and text but the problem is that when you add an image you can only see the shadow of the image and not its colors.. Can i change that? Or is another way to make a toolbar like the one i am describing?
EDIT
I need the buttons to change controllers and i just noticed that i cant create actions for the tabs but only outlets. So i guess the tab bar is not what i should use. Any ideas for a toolbar?
Yes Tab Bar is the Best approach for it and it is very easy to customize the tab bar if u are using IO5
This LINK will be helpful.
There is another approach (which was applicable uptil IOS4 for customization of Tab bar) was to Create Custom buttons with tab bar look alike Images. it will give u the same feel, but like i said it is very easy now to customize IOS Tab bars
Here is a couple of Links for u
LINK 1 With Story BOARD
LINK 2 Without Storyboard
One More thing Try searching Google before Posting a question here if have some problem then feel free to post along with the code or tutorial u tried.
Let me know if i Worked
Cheers
