Devise - Unable to Get Past Welcome Screen - ruby-on-rails-3

I want to integrate Devise into my application. I installed it and it is working properly. I have the sign up and adding to the DB working. I have the sign in working. My problem is no matter what I do, I can not seem to get the sign in or sign up page to go anywhere other than the Rails Default Welcome Screen.
I know their are numerous posts about similar issues. But I am stumped because all the solutions outlined do not appear to have any effect. Even after starting and stopping the server (when changing the routes) Each time goes back to the welcome page. If anyone would be kind enough to show me a sample of a known working route.rb I'd appreciate it.
Currently this is in mine:
devise_for :users
root :to => "home#index"

The first thing you should do is delete public/index.html.

XPages: Login not working?

im having a huge problem with the login node in the Web Browser. I click "Login" on the top right corner of my layout. It gets me to the login screen. All fine so far. Then im trying to login and as soon as i typed in my login-data and press "Sign in" Its just reloading the login-page. It doesnt take me back to the site i came from, it doesnt log me in, nothing. Im only having this issue in the web browser since it automatically logs you in, in the Notes Client. Thanks in advance.
PS: Sorry for the bad english.
Sincerly,
Brugen
Agree with Paul...
You could try: http://yourserver.com/names.nsf?open&login to check if your login is correct - disregarding any issues with your XPage.
Next, have a look at your server console to see if anything is written there to indicate a problem. If so it is easiest to use something like the XPages Log Reader to investigate the log files on the server. From the link there is a link to the project where you can download the database.
HTH :-)

Sorry if this is assuming too little knowledge, but are you trying the correct username and password? By default Notes Client and web passwords are not synchronised, it's a separate HTTPPassword field in your Person document on the server. After changing, it may take a few minutes to take effect.

Facebook login button showing "Undefined" instead of "Login"

The facebook login button implemented in my website was showing the text as "undefined" instead of "Login" in firefox latest version in Windows 7. So to fix that i went to get the latest code from the Plugin page at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/login/.
Its showing "undefined" in the preview button also. What should be done to get it fixed?
I am ready to use the latest code given but it looks like a problem with facebook JS to me.
Sorry! I don't have enough rep to post an image :P
I reported it to fb and referenced Ravi's screenshot. Here's my bug report, if you want to subscribe -

Forced to switch from iframe to SDK for share buttons

I was using an iframe share button solution to be able to share products or posts on facebook. I used this systeme wich worked great on about 10 different websites but this week, they all ended up no working.
I read I should get an appId for each website and use Asynchroneous SDK, which I did, and followed steps to get it to work:
Load the SDK with appId authentification.
Load jQuery if needed (some buttons require it).
Add button code were desired.
I can see the SDK is loaded in <div id="fb-root"></div> but the share button never appears on the page and it is not a layout issue. I have tried several different buttons but they all seam to never make it to the user.
I read a lot of posts about the issue but each one was magically solved on Jully 22nd... not mine. I need help implementing this first button as I need to fix many websites afterwards. Thx!
When doing a fresh implementation of FB btns I ended up going here:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
to force FB to crowl the pages I was working on at the moment.
This proved usedful in getting immediate feedback on how things were working out.

Facebook Page Tab app not appearing to non-page admin users

I am experiencing a problem similar to 2 others who have recently written about this issue.
A newly created Page Tab Facebook app displays for admin users but not for regular users.
I only have 8 page tabs currently so it cannot be that there are too many.
Also, sandbox mode is disabled ( have tried both enabled and disabled).
Can anyone think of a reason that this might be occurring?
I added the tab with the code:
http://www.facebook.com/dialog/pagetab?app_id=YOUR_APP_ID&next=YOUR_URL
Could it have something to do with https in the url as opposed to http?
I am at a loss and do not know how to go about solving this issue.
Any ideas, however far-out they may be,would be aprreciated.
Thank you to anyone who might think they can help...
Have you forgotten to take the app out of Sandbox Mode? (try toggling it just in case, even if it's not in sandbox mode, as this is by far the most likely explanation here)
Also, check there aren't demographic restrictions set on the app or page via the API, as in this case only the users that meet the restrictions will see the tab. (though the admins will always see it)
Also check that you've configured the Page Tab URL and Secure Page Tab URL settings for the app correctly, as if a user uses HTTPS and the App doesn't support it they won't see the tab
If the tab isn't appearing at all it's almost certainly one of those two problems ,if it's displaying but the content isn't rendering, also check your code and make sure it's not fataling on checking the signed_request for non-admins or something like that

Facebook apps redirect users to the wrong location after login. Is there a workaround?

1) Make sure you're logged out of facebook
2) Go to http://apps.facebook.com/marketplace/
3) Click one of the Items for Sale categories
4) Login at the top
5) You'll get back to a malformed URL / improper redirect
This is happening to my facebook app as well. Does anyone know a workaround for this?
Thanks
I'm having this problem too. When a user logs in using the fields in the Facebook chrome at the top right of the page, they get redirected to:
WWW.facebook.com/my-app/ ... which results in a "page not found"
instead of
APPS.facebook.com/my-app/
This bug has been submitted to FB's bugzilla.

Let's hope they fix it soon.
I experienced the same thing, i believe it started yesterday. From what i hear FB pushes codes changes and Wednesday making Thursday somewhat buggy. Not sure if updating your post authentication URL would fix this, since it appears to be an issues on their side??
Same for me as well.
You can open a bug here, or perhaps see if one is already opened:
