Missing icon in Windows 8 store - windows-8

I've recently uploaded my first Windows 8 Store application (hurray!)
http://apps.microsoft.com/webpdp/app/doctor-pepper-tattoo/03ed51ee-c1a4-4fb5-b388-76a2ccf10061
The only problem is that although I have specified a valid Small logo (30x30) in app manifest, it does not appear in the Windows Store. This is the file (I hope it was not converted by TinyPic)
http://i50.tinypic.com/35k9b20.png
What could be the problem? Perhaps an unsupported PNG variant? I notice that there a quite a few other apps in the Store with a missing icon (urbaneous, Volksvagen Commerial Vehicles Turkey, etc) so they could be facing a similar issue.
Thanks,
Themos

Since you specified the file in app manifest it should appear when you install the application. If you had submitted the app while submission then it should have appeared on the marketplace. I do't know about the Windows 8 app procedure but since it should not much different from that of windows 7, this is only what I could comprehend. Please install and check the icons. I also hope that icon will be used when a user minimizes your tile to the smallest size on the start screen.

Did you specify the Store Logo in apppackage?
Go here so you can read more about app images.

This is most likely an error on Microsoft's part. You have to make a post on:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsstore/threads
Or wait until MS updates their backend. There is no such thing as an unsupported png, and it can be a number of issues.
This will most likely be fixed before the actual MS Windows 8 release.

Issue with sap.m.PDFViewer (1.48) on mobile devices

I am developing a Master-Detail application which should show an embedded PDF in its detail view. The project is based on UI5 version 1.48, so the new PDFViewer control can be used.
In desktop mode, everything works as expected:
But on a mobile screen, PDF is not showing properly:
The data source property binding at the PDFViewer is done by OData path.
<FlexBox id="fbPDFViewer"
direction="Column"
renderType="Div"
class="sapUiSmallMargin">
<PDFViewer id="idPDFViewer"
source="{myModel>/myPDFUrl}"
title=""
busy="true"
showDownloadButton="false"
height="700px"
width="95%"
loaded="onPDFLoaded"
errorMessage="{i18n>notFoundText}"
errorPlaceholderMessage="{i18n>notFoundText}">
</PDFViewer>
</FlexBox>
Even the SAP sample for embedded usage doesn't work on mobile devices.
According to the source code (1.48), the viewer renders its PDF document directly in the app / iframe only when ..:
The source is valid
It's coming from the same domain
It has a valid URI format
UI5 thinks the user is using a desktop computer (Device.system.desktop returns true) or the displayTypeapi, available since 1.58, is set to Embedded.
UI5 detects that the user agent (browser) has a certain type of PDF plugin enabled. Currently, there are no known mobile browsers which support displaying PDF documents directly in the page.
The steps 2 and 3 explain why the PDF is not rendered on a mobile device even if the source is valid. In such cases, I guess the only option is to provide a download option instead of trying to render the PDF forcefully in the mobile app.
You can use nabi.m.PDFViewer from the the nabi.m library. It works cross device, even on iOS (where you typically don't have the adobe PDF plugin). For details see https://github.com/nzamani/ui5-nabi-m
There you will find also how to try it out on localhost. I have also added some detailed instructions for deployment of the library to NW ABAP as well as SAP CP.
You can find live demos at http://ui5lab.io/browser/#/Samples/nabi.m/Sample/nabi.m.PDFViewer.PDFViewer and http://ui5lab.io/browser/#/Samples/nabi.m/Sample/nabi.m.PDFViewer.InPagePDFViewer
Open the two links on your iOS device or any other device to see how it looks like.
On mobile devices (smartphones and tablets), the PDF viewer control renders a toolbar with the title and a download icon, which behaves as a standard device/browser file link. We've made this note in Fiori Design Guidelines 1.48 and we'll add it to the SDK documentation.
(More in openui5 issue 1759 on GitHub)
Thank you for your responses and hints...
Installing an Adobe Acrobat viewer on the mobile devices was not an option here.
Source of the PDF had same domain like app itself and had a valid URI format too
Due to project timeline in meantime I decided to fall back to a solution that SAP provided with it's "Paystub" (Fiori 1.0). Therein they're using a 3rd-Party control for displaying PDF's which unfortunately has an overhead of code and implementations steps but it works (with minor issues only) perfect on desktop devices as well as on mobile devices.
So far, this is workaround solved my requirement.
Thanks.

Migrate app to ios11 for Iphone X

I need to update my app and make it look good on the iphone X. I've seen a couple of answers on stackoverflow and on the internet regarding the new safe area option (Use Safe Area Layout Guides).
According to what I've read the app should adapt automatically using autolayout as well but what I've got is this:
If I start a new project it all works fine. The project is quite big, so starting all over again is not an option. What should I do?
Thanks
I just had the same problem, and in my case, the problem was that my app didn't have a Launch Screen.storyboard, it was using a image as launcher. So adding a new Launch Screen.storyboard and selecting that one fixed it, maybe the rest of the app takes some settings from that Launch Screen.storyboard

App crashes on iOS (Phonegap) if multiple images are captured from camera

I am developing Phonegap Application and my application has scenarios where camera is used very frequently.
In my application I have used custom camera plugin (https://www.npmjs.com/package/cordova-camera-custom) to take picture and use it in my application.
Now when I capture images from this camera 30 times by opening camera and capturing again and again the app goes to crash.
The app just crashes so I am not able to identify the root cause of the crash.
I am not an iOS Programmer though I have tried to check the plugin code but I was not able to find the cause.
You can even check the plugin code on your end if needed.
I have also posted this issue to DevExtreme, the framework which I am using to develop hybrid applications at following link:
https://www.devexpress.com/support/center/Question/Details/T480068
and they found that issue indeed is related to memory shortage. The error message was with bug_type: 298 and fault cause: vm_pageshortage.
Please help me on this, I am struggling on it since long before.
Any Help is greatly appreciated.

Binary is not optimized for iPhone 5 error message for Xcode 6.3

I've read a number of similar Q&As regarding this subject but none have provided me with a working solution.
All my images are PNG.
My deployment target is 8.3 for iPhone.
I'm using Xcode 6.3
I am using an image catalog.
I've tried using -568h in the image name and tried not using it. I tried changing the filename to "Default-568h#2x.png".
I've deleted all images from the image catalog and dragged them back in again.
I've created a new launch images catalog.
No mater what I've done, the same error message appears when I attempt to upload to the App Store:
EDIT:
On the off chance that lacking iPad launch images might have triggered this issue, I also added all launch images for iPad. I also renamed all the image file names, created a new launch image catalog (again) and imported all images. Still getting the same error message.
Resolved the issue but not sure on the exact reason behind it.
The Launch Screen File field had LaunchScreen selected.
The correct selection should have been Main.
This solved the issue and I was able to submit the app without the error message.

NSUserNotification don't show application icon in notification [duplicate]

I'm using OSX's Notification Center APIs for the first time and can't seem to figure out how to make my app's icon to show up in the Notification badge.
The default "your app doesn't have an icon" icon keeps showing up:
Here's what I've done so far
I have created an icns file that includes 512, 256, 128, 32 & 16px versions
dragged the icon into the "App Icon" section of the target's summary
I made to sure to check the box to copy the icon into the project
the plist's "Icon file" section references the correct icon name (minus the .icns) part
Any ideas? The icon doesn't show up when I run the app thru Xcode or when I export an archive either.
I also have extracted the Sparrow.icns file from Sparrow.app and tried using that one instead of the one I made. That didn't work either.
I was able to fix this issue by incrementing the Build number in the General section for the build Target.
You can force the Notification Center to refresh all of the icons by deleting the Notification Center database file (~/Library/Application Support/NotificationCenter/SOME_UUID.db) and then killing the Notification Center process (e.g., from Activity Monitor).
Unfortunately this has the side effect of deleting your notification history, but this wasn't too much of an issue for me.
There's actually an ongoing debate on Apple's developer forums (link, link for people with access) about this. As far as I know, there's currently no real solution, but you can try the following:
Change your app's bundle ID and try it again. If you change it, clean your app, and change back, some people have reported success with seeing their icon show up.
Log in as another user. The caching Notification Center uses may be per-user, so you might be able to get the properly-iconned notifications as a different person.
The folder location has been moved for OSX 10.10+.
Following command takes to you to its new location:
$ cd `getconf DARWIN_USER_DIR`/com.apple.notificationcenter/db
and then
$ open .
Easiest way that I managed to get the icon to show up is change the Bundle Identifier in your project. This works on OSX 10.10.5 and XCode 7.2
(Once notification center picks up the change, you can change it back to your original bundle identifier if you already have a provisioning profile associated with it)
I have solved the issue by archiving my app and adding a copy to my applications folder. When the app is in Application folder, the icon is always visible even you run the app from XCode...
I tried all of the above suggestions but the only thing that worked for me on 10.14 was to delete DerivedData:
rm -rf ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData
If anyone still having this issue, and none of the methods above worked, here is how I solved it:
open Notifications from the System Preference (easiest is to open Alfred or spotlight and type Notifications)
find your application and remove it (press backspace/delete button)
NOTE: this may remove all notifications
I am using Xcode 11.5 and I had the same problem. In my case tough, it was sufficient to clean build output, close and reopen the project. Then do a fresh build and let it run again. The icon was there afterwards.
Side note: I've placed the app icon for every size in the assets.xcassets file, except 1024 x 1024 pixels. Don't know if this is relevant or not. Hope that helps.
