UIWebview rotation+transform issues - objective-c

When a user presses a button i add a scale transform to make it zoom out like safari's tabbing. when user presses the webview it comes back up. When the view is rotated, i use to get the values of how i wanted the frame to look like in tab mode, and checked if it was in tab mode when rotating and applied the frame. it works, and ive tried taking it out. The issue is, if i rotate like 10 times, a black line on the right side gets bigger and bigger going inside the webview. i have logged tons of objects for the web view and its scrollview to see if anything is off, the scrollinset/offset is correct, the frame is correct, the transform is correct too. i cant figure out why theres the black line. i tried refreshing the webview to see if its the webpage, and it doesnt fix that ether,the scale transform values is
CGAffineTransformMakeScale(0.6, 0.68)
for zoom out, and 1, 1 for zoom in. if anyone wants to see the effect just apply that to a uiwebview and start rotating the device about 10 times and you would then really see it.
heres how the web view looks when rotating a bunch of times:
on the right side theres that thick black line, it gets bigger with every rotate but ONLY grows when that transform is added, if its normal size again it stops but stays there.

When you transform any view, their frames do change, If you are using autoresize flag, check it since transforming changes frames and autoresizing also changes frames and this creates weird result.

Having troubles fitting the UIImageView and Label into Scroll View

I want to fit the Image + Label into Scrollable View.
It looks like so My setup
So trouble here is that width of the picture and the label did not match the screen width.
I tried to change the UIImageView width from 400 to 300 or so, BUT those changes either wont take the effect(if above 300), OR those changes make label disappear (with width setted up on 300 or below). Observe.
Funny thing is - label actually appears when you see view hierarchy, even though it looks kinda distorted. But no label on the iOS screen for you, sir.
I also tried to set equal width and height from the superview, but this option just disabling scroll, making view strictly fit the screen (label appears to be cropped)
I want the label to be nice and scrollable, but I also want to see it on the screen. Too much to ask?
EDIT: I just tried removing Auto-layout and got the same as with auto-layout. (click "Observe" link to take a look again, exact same situation) Could somebody explain why?
This is quite a simple fix. For the image, you should use equal width & center horizontally; however, make sure you use a fixed width. For the image to look nice, play with the scale modes - I find Aspect Fit/Fill work best.
The label should also be equal width & centered horizontally. You may need to calculate the height of the label programmatically if the text isn't always going to be the same size.
So the answer to my particular question was - shortening the actual text that is passed to the label.
Apparently UIScrollView can't handle stuff with crazy abnormal heights (I was passing a huuuge text to it) So in my particular situation solution was - shorten the text. Now it works like a charm (even though I still need to play a little with constraints to get rid of the warnings and stuff)

Xcode UITextView Still not scrolling using storyboard

I am trying to initiate a scroll view in my UITextView and even though I seem to have selected the appropriate boxes, I can't seem to get the scrolling working. I have gone through multiple questions similar to this but none seem to have the answer.
I included an image of Xcode below:
Question 2: When I scroll down the majority of my text shows but the scrolling stops with two sentences or so left and I have to scroll down and hold it there to read. Any way I can fix this so it scrolls all the way to the bottom of the text?
Can you check the two boxes: Bounce Horizontally and Bounce Vertically and see what's happening? Sometimes your content are actually way bigger than your view, and they are touching a invisible outer box. If you can see they actually move, that means there is nothing wrong with touch or scroll, is just the view layout problem.
For the content issue, my guess is that the content size is not right, you can programmatically adjust it with textView.frame property, set it to a proper size, such as the frame of the window or the frame of the content, which are CGRect classes. Comment below to see if this can solve your second problem.
The text view will not scroll in storyboard, only the app. And the text view will scroll once the content in the text view exceeds the frame size.
If you're using iOS 7+, you can just turn on auto layout, pin each of the sides of the text view to the edge of its parent view, and it works fine without needing to do anything in code.

Move Insertion point of an NSTextView and make the written content visible

I am working on one Mac app. In which I want to play few tricks with insertion point of an NSTextView.

What am I doing is, I have an NSTextView (The whole image screen is of NSTextView) and above that I have placed one overlay (as you can see at the bottom of the image). There are two Labels at the extreme Left and Right end and has a white gradient view too. All these three I have placed above NSTextView.
Now when User types in, textview gets scrolled and at one point, typed letters goes below the overlay.
I have to manage this stuff only. I want to keep track that user has reached to the overlay border and if yes, I want to move the insertion point to little upside so that user can see the content which he/she is writing.
Will anyone suggest me, how to make this possible ?
I have tried many things, but its not working. Kindly help.

How does the Reeder Mac app animate lists when switching folders?

Initially I was under the impression that it uses the table row slideup/down animations while inserting/deleting new rows but I doubt if it's doing that as it does it so fluidly even with thousands of items in the list (otherwise it would take a lot of time for the deletions/insertions to work).
Am I right in my assumption that it's simply attaching a new instance of the News list at the bottom of the screen, shrinking the above one while the one at the bottom expands to fill up space?

I can not tell you exactly how Silvio Rizzi made this, but as you see in the playback, a list view is added behind the shown list view, and the front list view fades out (.alpha = 0.0;) while the list view behind it expands its height per row.
When you desicate it frame by frame it becomes quite clear what he does, and it is really not that advanced. But I have to admit, with the white "milky" polished interface, it looks quite neat.
In addition, you can see that while animating, the background list view only renders the top 7 entries (hopefully calculated by dividing the view height with the average height of the cells shown) making the list view quick to load. Then afterwards, he can load an extended array of cells once you start scrolling, or in a background thread starting once the animation is complete.

Chaning the background color around a PDF in a UIWebView on Device

I'm using a webview to display a PDF.
The webview displays the PDF at it's actual size which is a little smaller than the size of the webvieww itself, revealing the scroll view underneath it.
I've tried setting the Webview to opaque and setting it's background color to another color, which works fine and dandy in the simulator, but fails to change the color on the device. On the device it changes the color of the background of the view behind the scroll view, this can be seen when the PDF is pulled all the way down.
I've also tried setting all the UIView's backgrounds, by iterating through the subviews but to no avail.
I've updated a diagram to help illustrate which area I'd like to color.

You really shouldn't mess around with UIWebView's internals.
They can change anytime and your code might just crash on the next version of iOS.
If you need more control about pdf display, you might wanna take a look at other possibilities to show pdf, like using the CGPDFDrawPage* functions. Of course they are pretty low-level and it's a lot of work required until you can get fast page display, zooming, etc all right.
