I am getting a collection of photos via this flickr API:
description: http://www.flickr.com/services/api/flickr.tags.getClusterPhotos.html
example: http://www.flickr.com/services/api/explore/flickr.tags.getClusterPhotos
I see no option to include the license parameter on the API query and I thus get copyrighted images returned, which I do not want. I see that I can get the license info by calling flickr.photos.getInfo on each individual image, but this will be quite time consuming. Are there any other methods to get a collection of photos from a tag cluster with a particular license?
License is one of the parameters listed in their api here:
http://www.flickr.com/services/api/flickr.photos.search.html
I would try just using the id's from the results listed here in their return:
http://www.flickr.com/services/api/flickr.photos.licenses.getInfo.html
for example:
&license=4
It may be better to use "flickr.photos.search" instead. You can search for a specific tag and license (there is no need to do a second call on each image).

I am using VirtoCommerce 2.9 and have some questions regarding the API and what would be the best way to get all the information I need, while keeping the number of API requests down.
Right now I am using the endpoint /api/catalog/search to find items that matches a number of attributes. But the response does not include prices and product texts. Both I would like to present to the end user. What would be the correct or best way to retrieve this information?
Thanks!
Cheers!
Currently search service does not return the description and price for the products.
To get this details you need to use separate queries
api/catalog/product/ids?respGroup='ItemSmall'
to get product detail with description and
api/pricing/evaluate
to retrieve actual products prices. You can call them in parallel for better performance.
Be aware to use WithProperties response group because it may cause
perfomance problem. Anyway product returned with all properties values
and this 'response group' is only responsible for retrieving properties meta-information
(as possible dictionary values, multilingual, required or optional flag etc) this information often used in admin area and in storefront almost not used.
Indexed search module will be serious changed in future versions, and you will be able to have more control over the product details in the search index.
I am using soundcloud API for a project but the problem is I get remix of the original songs or cover version, its okay if I get remix and cover version but is there any mechanism that the original one comes as first song in the search result ? I tried searching on Google and read the API documentation but found nothing in this context.
The track object in soundcloud's API actually has the track_type property which has possible values of 'original' and 'remix' among other things. Sadly like most valueable metadata the track object has, content providers neglect to fill the field. So unless content providers start putting more effort into filling in the metadata fields the only option you have is giving songs priority based on words in the title or tags.

I am in the process of providing some consultancy on doing a HTTP GET using YouTube Data API V3; in order to develop a Windows based application to GET a list of results from Youtube, for say a specific CATEGORY, or a specific TAG.
We are open to using any programming language(I'm from a C++ background and am hoping You tube will support direct HTTP connections without using Google client SDK and so on) to connect to YouTube and (HTTP) GET data.(Once a month or so, so YouTube API quotas should not be problem).
The Issue
We are being told by some of my client's web developers that YouTube API v3 will only return a maximum of 500 records/results, for say a query that returns JUST the Total viewers, the Video's link, and basic meta data such as that.
S, say I wish to find 5,000 results for category "House music" or "basketball" - and I have the Developer Key etc are all set up, would that be possible?
If so, what GET fields would I need to populate(such as "max_results_per_page")?
Thank you.
The API won't provide more than ~500 search results for any arbitrary query. It's by design. Technically, it means that the nextPageToken field won't be returned once you hit ~500 results. No additional parameter can change that.
If you want more than ~500 results for a query, you have to split it into more specific sub-queries. I'd suggest using the publishedAfter and publishedBefore parameters to achieve that, but feel free to experiment with the other ones here.
This only holds for the search-Query. Other queries like "PlaylisItem:list" deliver more results. I have tested with 100.000 items to get the videos of a playlist.
I'm trying to query Picasa Web Albums to pull album/photo data (obviously!) however initially I only need to pull the first 4 photos. Is there any way to limit a particular field or specify the items per page?
I've already accomplished something similar with Facebook's Graph API however I'm unable to find anything similar for Picasa. The only items I can find related to limiting the response is specifying which fields, but nothing related to the number of rows.
Use max-results argument. See doc here.

I'm trying to pull from the API of story counts for the latest release, broken down by schedule state. There's a report that does that currently, but I don't see any exposed method in the API. Does anyone know if that's possible to obtain?
You should be able to do a query for each schedule state, and grab TotalResultCount from the body of the response. For example:
https://rally1.rallydev.com/slm/webservice/1.31/hierarchicalrequirement.js?query=(ScheduleState = "Defined")
https://rally1.rallydev.com/slm/webservice/1.31/hierarchicalrequirement.js?query=(ScheduleState = "In-Progress")
and so on. Since there are only four "built-in" schedule states, plus an optional one before Defined and an optional one after Accepted, it's at most 6 requests.
You can further filter down Alan's examples above with some release information as well by changing the query parameter:
query=((ScheduleState = Defined) AND (Release.Name = "My Release"))
Are you writing an app using the App SDK or using one of our other REST toolkits (ruby, .net, python)? You may be able to find some better code examples here:
http://developer.rallydev.com
You might also try the Batch Query approach that allows you to just return the size of the query instead of counting the results. See the
"Getting the Size of a Collection" example of the api doc:
