+1 keyboard shortcut for google+? - google-plus

Is there any way of adding custom keyboard shortcuts to a specific page? In this case, I would like Google+ to behave a little bit like Google Reader, and use the shortcut 'v' to open the link in a Google+ post in a new browser tab. I would also like to be able to '+1' a post with a key press.

According to Google's + button policy,
Publishers may not alter or obfuscate a Google+ Button, [...]
This means you are probably not allowed to do what you want. If you want to do it anyway, you should ask Google first, they may authorize you to use the keyboard shortcut and might provide you a URL to do that (only if they are okay with that, of course).

If you're using Chrome this my be useful:

Can I customize popup share screen default of browser?

I have a design for this popup, I've tried looking around, but not found any tutorial to edit the above popup with HTML/CSS.
Is it possible to customize it or is there an alternative?
Thanks for your help!
You can not - otherwise an attacker could present a misleading interface that gets a user to share something they do not want.

How to deactivate facebook share button after click

is there some way to deactivate FB share button or mark it like "done" after sharinig content? Like button have two states which indicates if I "like" it or not. On the share button is not visible if I shared the content or not. Is there a way to do it?
Thanks.
The only way i could think of is by authorizing a user with publish_actions. In that case, the response will be the new post id, as you can read in the docs: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/reference/share-dialog
BUT: You should not do something like that anyway. Let the user share stuff several times if he wants to. He may want to select different recipients for the share.

Showing file selection UI : Integrating Dropbox with OAuth 2

I am trying to create a web page which will allow my user to upload a file to my S3 storage. For choosing the file user can use Google Drive, Dropbox and also local system. Am facing issues while implementing the Dropbox part of this.
Am using this technique for integration(using core API and OAuth 2).
First when user chooses Dropbox i am opening an HTML page in an IFrame. Here I have an authorize button which will open the authorize endpoint mentioned in the above link. This link shows me X-FRAME-Options error inside the Iframe so i had to open this link as a popup to work.
Is there a way around this? I'd like the authorize URL to open in the same iframe by using location.href.
Also when i open it as a popup, after the user logs in successfully the redirect_uri which i pass i getting opened in the popup. I had to do some unconventional setInterval coding to go around this. Can someone suggest a solution for this as well?
I also tried using CSRF tokens as mentioned in Smarx's blog but this also gives me the same error.
EDIT :
#smarx i tried using dropbox.js and it works fine. Stuck at one place
I used the OAuth popup driver and have a button which says sign-in.
First on load i create the client and then the popup driver as below
client = new Dropbox.Client({ key: client_id });
client.authDriver(new Dropbox.AuthDriver.Popup({
receiverUrl: "http://localhost/uploadCare/dbcallback.html"
});
);
And in the call back html i am writing
Dropbox.AuthDriver.Popup.oauthReceiver()
as mentioned in the docs.
But this does not take me back to the original page and show me the list of files.
I particularly did not understand this part of the explanation
"To use the popup driver, create a page on your site that contains the receiver code, change the code to reflect the location of dropbox.js on your site, and point the Dropbox.AuthDriver.Popup constructor to it."
Could you please help me out here.
You definitely can't put dropbox.com into an iframe, for security reasons (e.g. clickjacking).
A few suggestions:
Can you just use the Chooser for your use case? That would certainly be easier for you and your users.
If you can't use the Chooser, is there a reason you're not using dropbox.js? It has a popup auth driver that will pretty much just take care of all this for you. The redirect will definitely happen in the same window as auth, so communication between the windows (usually via localStorage) is generally necessary. This is already done in dropbox.js.

Google +1 button on Google sites

I have a google site and I want to add several «+1»-buttons on one page.
As I understood, all different buttons must be related to different URL's, so I created one more page with a «+1»-button, which can be simply added.
Now I want to have the same button on the main page, how can I achieve this?
I've already browsed many things about it, f.ex., https://developers.google.com/+/web/+1button/
but I can't add Javascript on Google sites!
That's ridiculous, it has information about how to add it for other sites, but not for their own.
I re-read the documentation here:
https://developers.google.com/+/web/+1button/#plusonetag-parameters
The ability to control each button individually is available in platform preview only.
Sorry.

Linking to Google PlusOne, without embedding the button (for privacy reasons)

It seems that Google only offers code to embed the +1 button.
However, there are heavy privacy concerns (plus quite some load time) associated with it.
For some pointers about the privacy and legal issues associated with Facebook like and Google +1, see: Like button and privacy concern
A common workaround seems to be a two-click solutionGerman (also discussed on slashdotEnglish), where the first click enables the button (loading the javascript from Google), the second then is on the regular +1 button.
However, I do not want to implement this two-click solution either. Largely because the Google +1 button is ugly as hell, and doesn't fit to the page layout.
What I'm really looking for is a separate web page, where the user can essentially confirm that he likes the page. This page can live on google.com, and essentially this would be the second click. I'm not trying to trick people into +1'ing the page. The second click is all fine with me. I just don't want to force them to load the plusone button (and I don't like its looks).
There seems to be the option of
https://plus.google.com/share?url=<URL>
which however is a share on Google+, not a +1.
I've seen this URL, too:
https://plusone.google.com/_/+1/confirm?hl=en&url=<URL>
(see e.g. here: Adding a Google Plus (one or share) link to an email newsletter) but I cannot submit this form (i.e. doesn't seem to work).
The best working solutions seems to be the two-click approach. :-(
Update: the url, https://plusone.google.com/_/+1/confirm?hl=en&url=<URL> actually does seem to work. It was just my privacy proxy breaking it. Then it seems to be more of a "Google+ share" dialog. I'm not yet happy with this result (in particular, since this doesn't seem to be an advocated approach for Google, and they can at any point consider to ban the site, I guess)
The only officially supported method of +1'ing a URL is with the +1 button. Either always loading or loading it on a second click.
The approach that I'm now looking into is fairly trivial:
I've set up a Google Plus page for the web site, and the "plus" button sends user there. In fact just like the Facebook icon I'm using. Then the users get the full choice of interaction options, including +1, but also circling and sharing.
First of all, this obviously should not violate any g+ policies. Secondly, it is a fairly transparent behaviour for the users. The "plus" button takes them to Google plus, where they see the usual plus UI.
Secondly, it's still just two clicks to "+1". So it is not worse than any other data privacy compliant solution.
I found the solution here.
The problem is, social sites accepts your own "share" forms, but only if the link is URL encoded.
In Wordpress, a custom Google+ button that I'm using without the official API, and it's currently working, is this following code:
google+
Hope it helps, go to the link above for a list of the rest of the social sites links. :)
